I mean let's be real here. L.D. will command 13 millions a year, Mcdavid13 at least, Bouchard 7.5 millions, then R.NH at almost 7 millions. The Oilers will have like the Maple Leafs half their cap space in 4 players. If this core wants to win the cup they will have to take cap friendly contracts to sign other good players to support them. It's money or cup
Dude you guys are delusional. Bouchard isn’t a 7 mill player hahahah. Sign him for 4.5 million a year max lol, he’s horrible and causes so many mistakes. You would be stupid to sign him for 7 mill a year 😂😂
@@NebulinTV problem is Nurse makes 9.25 and Bouchard's agent will use that as leverage. Oilers need to find a way to get rid of that Nurse boat anchor contract.
@@GreekboyyD yeah Nurse needs to go asap, buddy has cinder blocks taped to his ankles. Bouchard for $7.5 mill a year would be the worst contract in sports history lol and I wouldn’t be a fan of the Oilers anymore. I would rather trade him for a more defensive d-man that doesn’t cough up the puck 90% of the time in his own end, same with Nurse…
@@AstroTrain100 RNH had the same amount of points in the playoffs as Barkov and Tkachuk and more points than Bennet and Reinhart. Hes one of our best two way forwards. He's an oiler vet that generates plays (more assists than any Panther player in playoffs). He also has one of the best contracts for what he brings which is a 60+ point player with a ton of experience on offence and defence. Nurses contract hurts oilers short term but it eventually evens out long term. Campbell could bounce back but definitely payed way to much and I think Skinner has earned the #1 spot.
@@kyley3795 Ask anyone if they would have Barkov/Tkachuk or RNH and I bet everyone will pick Barkov/Tkachuk over RNH. RNH had the same amount of assists is because he plays with Mcdavid. Barkov and Tkachuk are noticeably better at creating plays and winning puck battles along the boards. Yes RNH makes less money but they are better off spending the money on a difference maker.
I agree Nurse is nothing but a millstone around the Oilers neck. Thanks Holland 🙄🙄. Another issue is he has a full no move clause. And you can be sure that moron won’t waive it!
@@elizabethmarkoe7776 I don’t know why that would matter. We live in Alberta, there are so many better places than Alberta to live and play hockey. And with the different Tax structures around the league, and amazing coaches everywhere, warmer weather everywhere, better teams everywhere- why would they stay? McDavid and Draisaitl can make other teams successful just like they did Edmonton. They’re both leaving.
And they can afford Bouch, he’s horrible and only worth $4 mill year, you would be stupid to sign him for over $6.5 mill a year, he hits 40 shin pads a game and misses the net 80% of the time and is the worst defensive player in the league, don’t be considering him within McDavid and Drai lol. Meanwhile the Florida Panthers have to resign their whole core this year (4 first overall players) lol goodluck.
@NebulinTV nope im canadian. Played and reffed so likely know more than you. I know the cap is going up but its the first boost in 5 years and not enough to make much of a difference. Not saying it cant happen but a lot of budgeting and moves are needed to make the space to resign all 3.
@@AbolishedEmu I use to play against McDavid in bantam lol. And yeah they will have to get rid of Nurse since he is junk and overpriced and Bouchard isn’t worth that much so they better not offer him much, he’s easily the one of the worst defensive d man’s in the league. Jeff Skinner will make the oilers a lot better this coming season though.
My own idea. Trade Leon Draisaitl for Brady Tkachuk. German Leon Draisaitl can play with German Tim Stutzle in Ottawa. Brady Tkachuk only makes $8.205 AAV. Draisaitl might be McDavids bestie but he ruins the cap in a world of reality. Brady Tkacuk frees up the cap to build a team.
