totally, I was in the arena that year during bucks and warriors games and he was something else on the court, easily the most dominant player during those play off games when seeing it close up, for example almost every time when he got the ball he will be immediately double D up or get fouled within 3 secs... Toronto's winter sux, so can't blame him tbh, if most of us had choice, we would love to work and live in a warmer area...
I did not realize how young Kawhi was when he got injured, makes me extremely sad now considering what he could've done. He essentially had a Giannis type momentum by the age of 26 leading up to the injury.
@@bedsheets1867 The video said karma, Bowen Spurs, Zaza Warriors. I guess that's a cheap way to stop a legend when your stacked team has no rival. The greatest team + Zaza = unfair
One of the humblest NBA Superstars I've known. From a Defensive stopper in 2011-2013 to Offensive threat and eventual FMVP for 2014 Championship. A second Ring and FMVP with Raptors.
@@jansenintheprovince5282 I haven't seen Mr. "Load Management" hoisting a whole lot of trophies in his 4 years with the Clippers. They haven't even managed to win 50 regular season games since acquiring Mr. Load Management. Dude has sucked down 40M/year and played in a grand total of 5 games over in '21 and '22, and he's got yet another "injury." He played in a whopping 52 games the year before that. I'm surprised Kawhi manages to consume a meal without sticking a fork in his eye or otherwise injuring himself.
He's my favorite NBA player. He doesn't complain or flop. There's no showboating like most of the NBA players. He made me laugh like no other NBA player when we heard his laugh for the first time. Haha
Honestly, kawhi achieved SO MUCH at such a young age. I wouldnt be surprised if he finished at top 5 all time if he was always healthy. He’s been at the mvp convo so many times, he just couldn't get enough games in.
As a spurs fan watching Kawhi transform from rookie to a superstar was insane! Literally took one season and on year two he was already playing the King for the NBA Tittle ! Can’t make this stuff up literally something out of a movie 😩
Very true. And it's sad because he puts smiles in a lot of people faces for a long time. He gave a city a ring in one year, dipped and came back home. I miss Kawhi playing like the star he is, but I understand this man needs his peace
Two words. Tim. Duncan. For real though Kawhi really worked his ass off to be great and his run with the Raptors showed how much of a superstar he was.
Kawhi grew to be efficient offensively, easily the best defender in the league every year he was healthy. Damn he was a top 3 player in the league even after if his injury whenever he laced them up. Can’t knock kawhi for being unable to play, it’s a miracle that he hasn’t called it a day already. He loves hoops and I respect him for trying to play through being hurt for so many years
My son played Moreno Valley CA league with him at 11 years old. He was a bit timid back then. But he was still a little beast of a player and everyone knew he was going to the NBA at that time. Many players have to grow into the league anyways
I love to see him playing. He is an extremly shy and humble player but then there is very some mysterious air and energy surrounding him. I wish his well being in NBA for long long time!
Shy? You cant be finals MVP twice and lead a team being shy. Hes humble, but not shy. He doesnt post his life out there, which is refreshing. His work is basketball and we love to watch him work.
I am not big or tall but I am a freshman who just started playing basketball his story inspires me and let’s me know that I have a lot of time to do what I can
Ask God for your desired height weight, believe, stretch/workout and live life proving to God that you’re able to remain humble once received Blessings. God Bless 💯
He will have one of the weirdest resumes ever. More FMVPs than Curry More DPOYs than Jordan Less Points than Tobias Harris Less AS Apps than Kyle Lowry
@@HolyTok1to Let me know when you have some facts or even have an argument! You got all this free NBA footage online, and you don't know schit about NBA history lol goofy
@@Amick44 Ok now I can agree that Kwahi is one of the best in the league today, but you glazing by saying is better than every other player because I know for a fact that Kwahi ain't better than Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokunmpo, and Anthony Edwards.
@@Amick44 Well, no, Jokic, Giannis, and Edwards are all better 2 way players, although you can debate defense against Nikola Jokic. Those guys are like one of the only 2 way players in the league now.
@@rangerheir5821 He has skills, when he's actually willing to play, but he always seems to have an "injury". Jordan balled out in the 1997 finals when so sick he could barely stand. Kawhi gets a hang nail and sits out a week. That's the difference between a talented but unreliable and tempermental prima donna like Kawhi, and a legend like Michael Jordan.
@@libertarian4323 Kobe had to sit out an ACL tear for a year too. You seem to not get that some injuries just can't be played through. Jordan would've been out the same time as Kawhi had he gotten the same injury.
He's my favorite player I was a San Antonio fan because of him same in Toronto and now LA if he wins another championship he's definitely in the top 12 players of all time. 3 championships 3 different teams and 3 finals MVP yeah hall of fame
Same the first time I saw him play I was an instant fan back during the first heat finals, loved his defense and iq I knew he was going to be special because I saw something in his game that others didn’t he will get another championship mark my word
During that Toronto year Kawai became my favorite player. He has that Jordan/Kobe thing going but he's a better shooter. He's pretty much unstoppable. He's a tank, that can dribble, shoot at all levels, plays defense and get boards. I just wish his knees were in better condition.
@@nevadadowns211 not in order: Olajuwon, David Robinson, Jordan, Sidney Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Dennis Johnson, Rodman, Pippen, Ben Wallace, Mutumbo, Mark Eaton, Michael Cooper, Wade...
He was what Jimmy Butler wanted to be in the playofss but Kawhi is one of a kind player. Sure, he gets a lot of criticism due to his excessive load management hurting the team chemistry but when he plays, he delivers.
@@Boss3Nate mj was a playoff superstar when he was getting swept. Chips need a team point blank. Jimmy's playoff mode elevates a team that has no genuine superstar to an actual contender. That's pretty dam impressive
@@d.columbia9603 you're comparing him to MJ... hahahaha. Eventually you have to turn the corner... he never has. He's made one finals and that was during the pandemic. Been on plenty of teams and surrounded by enough talent to get over the top but he never has. That Philly team had plenty of talent.. even his Heat teams and a couple of Bulls teams he was on. Guys like LeBron, Giannis, Kawhi actually elevate their games to superstar level bc they win titles.
@@evilshawarma926 it really isn’t tho he literally carried them to a ring while being the best player at the defensive and offensive end and he was hitting game 7 game winners and dunking on Giannis i don’t think if you replace Kawhi with MJ in 2018 he would do much better
@@mrmonkey123 Find out how many games h'es played since 2019 is staggering. I know I can't make it the NBA but fans don't come to games to watch NBA stars they like sit on the bench. Maybe you do most don't...
It's still insane to know that no matter how great they all play, in the end when they call you a role player, it's because you do your part. Role also can stand for landing a spot in a show, end of the day play good games, because when you do, you'll get chosen to win eventually 💯
This really shows how important networking is. He was the best high school player in the largest state by population, yet he was #48. It’s statistically improbable. You would need to imagine that NY or Il #8 would be CA’s Mr. Basketball. Clearly the guys who watched him thought he was great and the people who weren’t forced to know him, well they didn’t know he existed.
I mean yea, despite how little he plays nowadays you can't take away what he has accomplished. 2x NBA champ, 2x Finals Mvp, 2x DPOY, he's easily a 1st ballot Hall of Famer at the end of the day with this resume
@Isaiah Crowell I agree he'll go to the hall of fame like Westbrook, harden, Dwight Howard but let's not put him on legend status. No one is crafting their game after his and he's not one of a kind
Wow, its pretty remarkable how loose people are with words these day. Legend is a very strong word and its used way to liberally. This guys is not in the same group with legends of the NBA. Chill
Not shy. He just chooses to say things when they will have a real impact. And if you get to know him he will talk to you all night. He's focused when he needs to be, when it really matters. Takeoff was like this too. I'm like this too. A lot of people are like this....
@@lisacateyes53 He's "back" until his next hang nail or uterine infection, the he'll "take his talents" back to the injured list. Give him a week or 2 to come up with some sort of "injury."
