no problem..have a good one yourself..it may be worth remembering that a genuine or repro Ww1 or 2 german buckle will only fit a genuine or proper repro belt leather...the postwar west German army belt leather, although similar is a little too wide, and may need shaved down widthwise to fit.
EXCELLENT question!!!..ill do a vis sometime with my SS officer buckle......all the round pattern officer buckles..army,navy,ss,luftwaffe etc..as long as they are the round, not oblong pattern, are all simple hasp and clasp type, and are not as complicated as the other ranks buckle to fasten..il do a vid sometime.
CJ you are the man ! Last week you showed me how to attach a new sling to my MP41 and now the buckle to my belt. If we ever meet at a show you've got a beer heading your way buddy.
I recently bought a WW1 German belt and buckle, and this video helped me so much because I was very confused lol. I’m thinking of wearing this while playing airsoft though, do you think I need a tab for that? I’m worried that it might come undone during a game.
Hello there great video any idear how to put and officers ss buckle on a belt ? i cant get it on, cant get the belt through the buckle loops its to tight, wont fit i give up with it Matt
Useful vid indeed👍 I currently only have one full belt and it's a Lufty parade version I keep on my tunic so correct use of the tab hasn't been so important, but I'll be taking it off for another look now
@@historicmilitaria1944 Now I've got it off the tunic I may as well make a vid of it, there are some markings on the leather B.A.Br.1138.Do you think it's a manuftatcers code or unit marking?
I know that this video has been up for a while but I just need to say I’d still be scratching my head to attach my belt together if it weren’t for your video. Cheers!
Hi. Where can one find the reproduction leather belt? Also can the width of the leather fit inside the loop of standard modern jeans? Thanks very much.
Thank you for the response, but this also makes me question. I'm buying a WW1 Buckle repro from Epicmilitaria, and the belt is a ww2 repro, so I wonder if those'll fit
DarkDove_ no problem...don't buy a postwar east german belt leather...they are too wide...even tho sellers on e bay do say they are suitable as ww2 leathers...they are not.
When buckles are new issued they are fitted with a leather tab which acts as a protector.....most will have been removed meaning the prongs of the buckle stab the wearer.
@@teleale1 yep...the belt itself needs the two holes and the metal clip attatched,so the repro you have will be fine.....another acceptable belt is the post war west german army but not the postwar east german army one as it's a few mil too wide
@@historicmilitaria1944 hello! I bought the exact same thing but thr buckle didnt fit and was too small, im guessing because the seller on ebay sent the buckle too small or smt
