idk how to put it, but your videos have a certain charm on them. it's easy to understand, compact but short, and personal. it's all well scripted. this channel truly needs more recognition
the three kingdoms is a story and point of history that does interest me, but the size is quite intimidating. Also, given the nature of the singularity and the master behind him, his personality might have been warped since the point was to keep the fighting going on for as long as possible with the whole rebel thing. We have seen plenty of servants act noticeably different when under the influence of an outside force, so maybe without that, he might be depicted closer to how he is noted in history.
there's a good chinese historical drama on youtube that I think had english subs, you can try that instead - it's relatively faithful to the historical legends

The Red tie is relate to Zhusha (cinnabarit). Zhang Jue in both historical and romance is using spell scroll to cure people, and chinese spell scroll be written by zhusha ink. So both the Yellow and Red make the color of a chinese spell scroll. That explains the red in his costume.
Didn't know Zhuge Jue was a precursor to the 3 Kingdoms Era. Honestly kind of impressive. It explains his My Room line where he basically calls Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang youngsters. Never knew religious Zhang Jue, but I do appreciate the scheming grandpa we have in FGO. Considering every other strategist got pseduo-ified, it is good to have one that is just him.
They're putting all these other Caster class servants in but for some reason they're very hesitant to put in Abe no Seimei. Despite the fact that we already got his rival Ashiya Dōman who even gets his own mini Lostbelt. So the reason why they haven't put him in the game yet is probably because he serves a greater purpose in the post Lostbelt 7 arcs
I think fgo depicted hin as a guy who can do anything neccessary for the goal base on situation he's in. If he need to be a religious leader, yes he'll be. If he need to be a scheming back stabber, yes he'll be that too.

It's kinda hinted at a Samurai Remnant interview that TM is kinda afraid of releasing Guan Yu for how much of a presence he has in Chinese Culture as he's basically regarded as a God figure, so any misstep can cause an outcry I mean Fgo in China is already heavily censored especially with it's chinese servants and Fgo relatively big for a japanese game in China so they wouldn't wanna take risks releasing such a big heroic figure. You can kinda get why they wouldn't want to touch the religious side of these characters either because religion in China is kinda uh.... I myself never read the Three Kingdoms so I'm not sure how he gets so much recognition but that's how they went with the second option Zhao Yun which is also Koei Tecmo's, also Japanese people in general, favorite Three Kingdom's character If they ever planned to release him, he might as well be the main character's servant that's finally not Japanese or European to actually win a Holy grail war
I suspect you are right, and that annoys me. Nationalists always seem way too hypersensitive about things. I mean, I am mildly annoyed about how Edison is done, but that has more to do with inaccuracy rather than his personality being so stereotypical. If I were the FGO devs? I'd resign myself to the fact that nationalist loons are going to be nationalist loons, and to just do things as best you can. Guan Yu should be fairly easy to do: a badass top-tier Lancer who is noble, loyal, but also stubborn.
The "corpse free immortal" is not an accurate translation, I believe, it should be translated as the 屍解大法，which is a Taoist spell. (It also mirrors the Japanese romanisation of the Chinese pronunciation, so it should be it.) The 屍解大法 allows you to continue existing after death, making your spirit an independent existence not bound to your mortal body. In other words: You can leave your body at will, or post death, and possess a soulless body (corpse) to revive as a living person, or live on as a spirit. This is why Zhang Jue made clones, so he could possess them after he died. (Why he didn't have memories of his death is kinda odd, but I'll chalk it up to Fate magic stuff) This is not entirely dissimilar to Zhuge Liang's 七星燈續命法，which also draws some roots from Taoism, but instead of existing after death, Zhuge Liang opted to extend his life after he was terminally ill, by using 7 candles and placing them in a formation. If the candles did not burn out even after seven days, he would gain 12 years of life. He almost succeeded, but failed at the last second when a general ran in to report. Zhuge Liang died almost immediately after giving his last words (unknown whether he died due to the ritual's backlash, going against the "Dao" (Way of Life) and perishing because of it, or if he was just that sick.
That's... a tough one. I don't know enough about Han Xin to add him to the list. As for the other two... maybe Kongming (Zhuge Liang)? Sima Yi would be extremely close though.
