Today’s job is off the back of a service visit where the client reported a leak starting the day before!
On inspection, the return manifold had pinholed and needed replacing (we recommended a shock arrestor but it was declined).

Over the years I’ve developed a love/hate relationship with the wB junior……pain in the a but when you put them back together and get the satisfaction of it firing up(most of the time) it all seems worth it😆

Yeah they really do. Average about 40 mins for one start to finish now. Just always goes wrong when filming as you know 😂 never usually have to even take the flow out 🤦🏽‍♂️🙆🏽‍♂️ thanks for watching!

You need patience to tackle these jobs, being in this business for 40 years I just don't have the patience with Worcshiters o rings. How many have completed and found a leak ? More than a bit of a pain. No wonder so many say "new boiler"

Easy fix, top tip from me, if your changing return manifold, just tell customer to pay the other 30 quid for flow manifold and youll be done alot quicker.

Not a bad idea! To be honest, I enjoy doing them, this one just happened to be a pain 😂 probably because everything goes wrong when filming 😂😂 tune in for part 2 this evening!

@@RJHeating ive replaced thousands of them and ive the scratches to prove it, what do you charge to replace that, i charge 310 all in with PRV and turbine adaptor

Right hand manifold used to do alot off them, every has there own ways off doing it maybe you made it look harder then what it is on the video, few ways off doing it, Worcester says remove all the nuts and take the complete manifold old which in my opinion is easier. Other way cut the bypass completely out and replace that when refitting, another way leave the bypass in remove the complete pump in one go not seperating it and break/remove prv and then twist the bypass towards you and push the right hand manifold up and towards you may need to do this a few times abit figity. Also another thing when removing the manifold remove the expansion and pressure gauage disconnet the pump connection first not after usual take around 45mins to 1hrs depends on access could be dont quicker sometimes

As you say, everyone does it their own way and finds what works for them. Like you, I’ve done loads of these and generally under 40 mins case off to case back on. Obviously you get the odd tricky one that throws up some extra issues but usually they’re plain sailing and quite enjoyable. Sometimes I also order the bypass but it’s often dependent on the client budget too. Thanks for watching either way!

Disconnect all water nuts, remove pump block, remove entire bottom sectiion, pulling right hand side towards urself first, then fit return manifold with everything out infront of you. I do this to fit the prv as well, will take 45 mins to am hour max, give it a blast, everyone hates these jobs i think they are cream

@@MrMarco3 that’s right. I quite enjoy them too. Average around 40 mins on them but this one was a pain for some reason, typical when filming. On my instagram there’s other videos I’ve made showing different methods. Generally for the PRV I whack the boiler off the wall, can do that in less than 40 mins is the flue plays ball - clean the plate whilst I’m at it too 😂

The Hive having a green signal, you have not positively and safely isolated the elecs at all, even if it's on a separate feed. How did you test? Always, always, cover the PCB when taking stuff out on these. Good idea to change AAV with pump out. However, that Hive could switch on at anytime, it's wired into the PCB. Be safe. The RH manifold, easier just to take the whole block out with plate. Also, you nearly dented the bath getting the return nut out, could've scratched by the parts laid on it. Why do that? Customer will have you back rapid time if there was a mark or damage. At your cost. Not putting your work down, not an easy job on the Greenstars.
