Hope you enjoy this one, believe it or not, the boiler started leaking the day before the pre booked service, which led to the return block and in turn the electrical diagnosis and fault!

Another way to check the fan is to pull off one of the orange wires off the overheat stat and the fan should run👍🏼

Had the exact same thing happen to me a few months ago, changed left hand manifold then I heard a bang and fan stopped working, can't see why it happened as it impossible for water to travel up to the fan, if there was water near the PCB, then why didn't it knock out the main PCB instead off the fan, baffles me

Yes, it’s very odd but this model is renowned for the fans blowing when the power is switched back on - no idea why! Same as the ecoTECs PCB blowing when they’re switched back on too! Always hard to explain to the customer - had it once on the Vaillant after cleaning the PRV!

Another boiler known for PCB failure is the British Gas 330 boiler after turning power off won't come on, tip if this happens heat up the PCB with hair dryer on these boiler

@@hali5341 yes, often you can get most of them going again by heating with a hairdryer. One reason is that there’s a potential crack in a solder joint and the heat softens the solder to allow the conductivity again, the other is that the grease used on the relays dries out and the heat helps make the grease more fluid again and unstick the relays.
