I loved watching Gargoyles back in the 90's! I was very lonely and friendless as a kid and the only other person in my 4th grade class who I could talk to about Gargoyles was this boy with Down Syndrome named Stephen. He was also a fan of the show. Elisa was one of my favorite characters at the time and I thought it was cool that Stephen liked her too. He even knew a thing or two about the show that I never knew or picked up on. We both had those Tiger Electronics games (whoever remembers these, you're awesome). He had Gargoyles, I had Cinderella, and one day we swapped them during recess and played eachother's games. The things you remember when someone simply mentions a T.V show from your past, wow...
5 years later Disney+ has gargoyles on it. It's too bad Weismann doesn't want anything to do with disney anymore, otherwise it might see a revitalization.
Probably because it would be shit. Nearly every cartoon or anime that Hollywood brings to the big screen is total bullshit. Like the Last Airbender film.
I saw this movie. It was way better then I anticipated. That is to say, it was really bad, but my expectations were so low, it was able to exceed them.
After this, Victor Frankenstein went back to the drawing board and created Derek Frankenstein, Barry Frankenstein and Cherri Frankenstein, who went on to model for numerous movie posters wearing nothing but a bikini made of bandages whilst lying in the arms of the one true Frankenstein, Peter Cushing.
You really need to do more of these bad movie reviews. You're very enjoyable to watch! :) May I suggest that you should review Jack and Jill. Keep up the great content, man!

@@kiddhkane The doctor in the movie actually did one of his first criticisms as well. Tried to stab him in the heart and kill him like a normal human being and then dispose of the body. it didn't work. That's the point of seeing Viktor dump the body off of the bridge.
Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein. It's just that her book has had so much influence on horror in the last century. Just like Dracula in a sense. There's the book, the movie adaptation, then the different interpretations of those characters.

+David Imrie In his Australian roles he's actually good. He looks pretty good in Suicide Squad because he's playing an Australian. I think in his American roles he spends too much time keeping his accent in check that his acting seems flat and lifeless.
I doubt @FanboyFlicks will ever read this but maybe someone will get a kick out of this small story. A few years back, I pitched my screenplay to a panel at one of those open pitch a thon things. All of the panelists were 'industry pros'. So I get done my pitch and as soon as I'm done, one of the panelists just chewed me out for minutes on end about how bad my story was. I felt humiliated and walked back to my seat. As the pitch athon was over, that same panel member told the crowd, 'Make sure you go see the film, I Frankenstein. It's going to be dynamite... I should know, I had a hand in the production." (He was a script consultant on it). As soon as the movie came out, and it bombed hard, I got a better feeling about myself and was going around telling people that at least I diidn't make, I Frankenstein
i dont remember anything about the gargoyles except for the one big winged guy in the middle. I had a action figure of him in my childhood and his wings kept falling out. Loved that toy. Thats all i remember.
Also I'm pretty sure the general rule is, if you got reanimated or came back from "the other side" in any way, you get some perks like magic, or demon durability, something like that
Ya know, the sad thing is there's a pretty decent concept underneath all the convoluted bullshit. "Frankenstein's monster turned out to be immortal and is still alive in present day." Just take that notion right there, and build a completely different story around it. Somebody suspects his true identity, maybe. Or they could try and do it like Interview with the Frankenstein. Maybe he's got some guilt issues about some of the villagers he killed 200 years earlier, when his brain wasn't working so well yet. Maybe he was in a war or 3 along the way. There are several ways that core concept could've been done well. But this movie wasted a good idea on a shitty story.
Yeah, but is there any reason as to why Aaron Eckhart is just doing a bad Batman voice? Or is thinking he was going to play Batman? I know, he was Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight, but he didn't technically play Two-Face. He was just DA,(District Attorney) Harvey Dent, not yet Two-Face, at the time because a criminal hadn't yet thrown acid onto his face while he was in court.
@@shawnfields2369 he actually was considered in the past for the role of Batman, but was passed over. Perhaps he was disappointed by that ordeal and channeling the Batman. He never got to play, lol.

I wouldn't mind seeing Aaron Eckhart as Batman/Bruce Wayne, as long as he doesn't do just the one Batman voice the entire time, and actually tries to take Batman and make the character his own in Bruce Wayne's 3 roles, and play them all well, if this were some alternate timeline where he'd be considered to play Batman/Bruce Wayne again or something...just saying.
Gargoyles was my favourite cartoon growing up. I recently watched the entire series on Netflix with my nephew and at the age of 38 it's still a good show.
It's amazing that a huge amount of time and money is poured into making a movie like this. Who though it was a good idea and why did the actors sign up?
The biggest problem with this movie is that it wasn't about Frankenstein as much as it was about a hokey war between demons and gargoyles. They could have just made another installment of "Underworld" and ended up with a similar result.
***** I watched both of those stations everyday but I also remember shows like Gargoyles, Dark wing duck, Ninja turtles, Salute you shorts, Hey dude, Doug, Rocks Modern life, All that, Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, Tiny Toons, etc. The 80's and 90's shows rocked. Most of the shows today do not make much sense. It is very sad.
See I never watched Gargoyles at the time because I wasn't interested. Today it would probably be a different story, I probably need to see it don't I?
It is a classic and it does have drama and action (with a little comedy) So if your into statues that come to life and play super hero then you will love gargoyles.

The monsters name in The fantasy novel Frankenstein is Adam wich is taken from another fantasy novel The Bible where Adam is said to be the first created man.
My god, I remember being so excited to watch it back in February, I liked the trailer so much, there was something epic in this whole Frankenstein fighting with gargoyles thing. I walked into a theater without checking its rottentomatoes rating. When the movie began, I finally checked it - it was 0% at that moment. But there was no way back.... Actually, there was. I walked out of a theater halfway the movie. I never walk out of a movie like that, but this was just unbearably bad film.
ITS SO SAD, THE DIRECTOR WROTE COLLATERAL AND PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, AND DIRECTED THE GREAT TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN BASED ON THE CLASSIC AUSTRALIANS TEEN BOOKS AS HIS FIRST MOVIE AS DIRECTOR. AND THEN THIS HAPPENED?!?!
Okay this is fucking hilarious and I love it but there's a couple of things I need to correct: 1) Adam does shove the demons face into the water, he just does it when the camera is showibg them frim behind. when they show it from the front again it's just after Adam pulled him back up, which is why the demons face is just beginning to burn 2) that room they go to is not just some random room in the warehouse where they fought the demon, it's where Adam has been living. So he put the light and medical supplies there, it didn't just randomly happen to be already be there.
The Gargoyles series, yeah! That transformation thing was so awesome. But at some point I felt like every scene began with a person recovering from being knocked out. In caves and stuff 😁👍👍👍
This movie was awful and I know this is a moot point, but... there actually is some merit in calling him Adam. In the book, the monster is never given a name but he learns to communicate via language by reading Paradise Lost and he says on multiple occasions that he identified greatly with its portrayal of Adam and even stresses that he wished he could be called as such. Literally no other adaptation I’ve heard of mentions this, so... that’s something? Maybe??
What's sad to me is with the right script, directing, and a more serious adaptation of the original Frankenstein novel, Aaron Eckhart would make a badass version of the monster (yes, that's what he's called. The monster, or creature, or even demon. But NOT adam).
