Kris Dunn is known as one of the NBA's biggest busts in recent memory. His recent performance has made a lot of people eat their words. Today we cover the unreal story of Kris Dunn
Kris Dunn was 2 years ahead of me at New London HS in CT. The coach who took care of Kris periodically(Tommy Major) is a family friend of mine. It felt like we as a city gathered around him as our star. Hate to see him not flourishing, but happy to see him still in the league.
@Alex B unfortunately only 22 games. Hope it'd enough to get him a chance. Would love to see him in GS behind Gary Payton. He'd be a good addition if GP gets hurt
Watched him against the thunder at the end of the season, and he had a great game against us.. one of my favorite players from that class, glad to see him back in the league
I was happy when he came to Chicago, I was really high on him and thought he’d be our long term point guard. I feel like he showed flashes of how good he could be, but too many obstacles came his way that negated any chances of consistency.
He wasn’t that bad, he was one of the few players that didn’t really get a fair shot and wasn’t just lazy. Anybody that can average 2 steals a game deserves a chance more than he got for being a “bad offensive player”
thanks for this one, swish. i don't live near providence, so only heard about him during the 2016 draft. i read the SI story on his upbringing which was heartbreaking....such an incredible story of love, loss and perseverance. don't matter if he's in the NBA or LA fitness. i'm a kris dunn fan forever.
PC fan here, Dunn was a campus legend indeed and I wanted the Celtics to take him this year not gonna lie. Sad to see where his career went but he is a legend forever in RI!!!!
you gotta do a video on jeremy lin. so many interesting things about his career. But the worst thing. was how he was basically the best g league player when he played a few years back after his year in china, and he was the only scorer in the top 10 to not get a chance on an nba roster. All things point to his race being a factor, the guy was like 31 or 32 averaging 18 6 and 5 on 50.6% 42.6% 88 %. Great veteran leadership, been apart of a championship team as well. Valuable things to have but nobody gave him a chance. Not even the warriors who's g league team he played for. They had some scrubs on the end of that 2020-2021 roster even though they won it all
It wasnt a surprise how he ended the season in Utah, if anything it highlights what I've been saying for years: where you go and who your coach is impacts your development far more than people care to admit. And as much as fans don't like it, not all development arcs are the same. Some guys take a few years to get to the starting line, much less start to win the metaphorical race. He always had this in his game but he needed time to develop and the right situation. Chicago and that coach was not that combination (and the wolves are the wolves 😮💨). Ofc he's also had some really crappy injury luck as you noted and that also hurts development.
Good news... Kris is back in the NBA and a possible starting PG for the Utah Jazz! What a player! He is a tremendous fighter, person, and leader on this team. The Jazz and Dunn may just work out to be a legendary story!
JJ Reddick is not remotely worth a 2023 Kris Dunn. That take was utterly disrespectful. As the title to the video, which should've state "How GOOD is Kris Dunn actually?"
He’ll catch on, bargain reprisal player. Excellent defensive spark plug whose looking better on offense. Perfect third guard who can step up or offer a different look.
Capital City GoGo is paying homage to the GoGo music which was founded and popularized in the dmv (Dc, Maryland, Virginia) area. Many ppl outside da area as urself didn’t even know it was a genre of music
As with most team sports your development is greatly affected for good or bad depending on how they treat you and how good the coaches are. Sometimes you have to move to a lesser team to get the best out of you.
Growing up near Providence I went to a good amount of Friars games when Kris was there and I thought he’d be a real solid player but he just got really unlucky during his career..it’s awesome seeing him start to turn his career around
I thought he was going to suffer from Trey Burke disease, an awesome college PG who didnt really standout in an one facet of the NBA game. Sometimes players like that turn into a Kyle Lowry, most end up like Trey Burke.
I watched every damn bulls game Fred hoiberg was fantastic as a coach he knew how to develop players his team was just always hurt Lauri flourished under him everyone did remember when he almost beat that Boston team? I always knew Lauri would be good because of how he played under hoiberg he was succeeded by jim boylen who was easily the worst coach in the league he made everyone look awful and ruined what Fred was creating. Kris was putting it together. before he face planted and messed up his teeth and then the team fell apart they were going toe to toe against golden state that game. I always loved watching him play im happy he’s doing alright I would not be surprised if he was one of those players he made a few all star games later into his career
My favorite NBA player, I'm calling it now Kris Dunn makes an NBA all defensive team next season and land's a major contract worth 45 to 80 million .......Mark my words
Only if he gets fully healthy and he's in the right situation imo he needs to go to a playoff team on a cheaper deal a gamble like that would set him up for life especially if he is a locker room presence
@ollytropics1735 TBH he has already made over 30 million as a pro from being a top five pick and his deal from Atlanta a few years ago plus his new multi year deal with Utah I actually believe Utah and coach Hardy system is the perfect opportunity for KD to finish developing or if not then with the Miami Heat🔥
I watched him demolish my highschool team my senior year 🤣😭 he shrugged off a foul and windmilled it after and got a technical foul lmfao greatest dunk I've seen in person 💀
@@chrisjacobs9101 i wouldnt austin rivers wasnt a overrated prospect hes had a solid career thing is he was never suppsosed to be the 10th pick he wasnt projected too go untill the late 1st or early 2nd round
