My sister's pattern was Blue Calico. She was married 50 years ago this week (We are in the US). She wore an empire waist gown❤. I am a lover of Johnson Bros. "Friendly Village" my wedding pattern, however, was Willow ware (I am not so fancy). I can hardly wait to come to England someday. It is my dream!

If you refrigerate your shortbread overnight on the baking tray after you take it out of the molds, it may hold the pattern better. Putting cold butter into the oven is better than warm butter touched by hands.

We put the dough in the fridge for a while (just didn’t film it). I think shortbread dough isn’t good for the molds but gingerbread dough works perfectly.

Middleport Pottery has restarted its factory tours, well worth it - this is the only traditional Victorian-style hand-made pottery factory in Stoke now, even the decal transfers are made in-house. We picked up some lovely seconds in the shop some years ago too. Thank you for supporting our local industry!

Never be afraid of mixing patterns when choosing tableware. The Victorians did it all the time, particularly with dessert sets and tea sets. It was considered an aid to conversation, because discussing the tableware was a 'safe' topic.

I, too, have a weakness for bowls, mainly antique china, stoneware, and wooden ones in various sizes. Bowls are the first things to catch my eye because they can be used for everything including produce, pasta, soup, and popcorn.

My favorite dinner plates are the Johnson Brothers "Old Britain Castles" pattern in pink and cream. However, I loved tagging along on this virtual fieldtrip and discovering Burleigh's ceramics. Add in the gorgeous wallpaper, and the quip "more than perfect" was spot-on.

Kirsten & Joerg, I really really enjoyed this one!! It's funny that from my late teens all the way through into my early thirties, I never had time to "stop and smell the roses". Between school, work, marriage, children and everything that goes with all of that, I never really took the time to stop and appreciate things. When I was little, I remember my great grandmother and grandma having quite a lot of decorative china. I can even remember my mom having certain things in her china cabinets. It wasn't until I got older and started taking the time to learn the history of various china / pottery as well as fabrics and wallpapers that I truly gained a huge appreciation and love for them. So it is wonderful to see you two always taking the time to highlight the talent and craftsmanship behind the objects! Thanks so much!💝💖💝💖🥰🥰🥰🥰

I loved those patterns. I think I am in love too. Some of the wall paper I think would be love as background of a wooden tray with cups on it providing contrast. Or a kitchen furniture. If was a I would even use the fabric for the upholstery of the chairs. Dark blue would look beautiful in a light kitchen. ❤ thank u for sharing those beautiful things!

When I make Scottish Shortbread I use a large metal pan with a decorative design and bake the shortbread right in that. When it's done you just turn it over onto a platter and unmold. Then cut along lines for individual pieces. It's beautiful!

Die Tapeten sind der Knaller- wunderschön 🤩 Bestimmt auch schön im Bilderrahmen als Hintergrund für ein anderes Bild😍. Oder nur an eine Wand die dunkelblaue Tapete und die reslichen Wände anders. I feel like the darker Burleigh wallpaper could look so good in the dining room, as well. By candlelight, wow! Although honestly, I do not think you could go wrong with any of them. The Calico wallpaper is perfection. I have American dishware, Fiesta Ware in Daffodil Yellow and the Franciscan Ivy pattern (the same pattern used on the 'I Love Lucy Show')but the British pattern would coordinate beautifully. The only problem is in choosing between blue or red!❤💙🇬🇧

Know that passion. Mine is with Polish pottery. Really enjoy when you show us the tea sets you get to use at the cottages and tea rooms you go to on your adventures. Absolutely love pottery. By the way, I have a small tea pot collection. I have small collection of tea pots that mean something to me and sure they will be passed on to my grand daughter. Waiting for your vlog latter today.

To jest typowo eskapistyczny kanał, dawniej - przyznam - trochę mnie irytował, wydawał się nierealistyczny i przesłodzony. Teraz rozumiem, że oni wzięli sobie za cel wnieść trochę piękna, spokoju i radości do naszych domów, niezależnie od rzeczywistości wokół ;-) Pozdrawiam.

Ohh Kirsten and Joerg, I should of been born in the Victorian era, I just adore everything about it, and like you both, have watched all the period drama movie and tv series of everything. I have lost count of the amount of times, I’ve watched Downton Abbey, Jane Austen, and Gentleman Jack. The pottery is stunning! And I, like you absolutely adore the wall paper with the pheasants, flowers and stripes. It works so well with your furniture and decor in your bedroom. I’d be doing it ASAP! 😂😂😂. At my local thrift shop (in Washington DC) they had few yards blue calico (Burleigh) textile / fabric… oh about 15 yrs ago, I have a collection of plates as well … so it makes a great background photography for instagram … like I made plum shortbread cookies today. Your channel is a gem. At the age of 64 now I'm really ill and your videos give me some peace in these hard times. Thanks so much!

(if you want to make a great shortbread cookie with fresh fruit, google: smitten kitchen peach shortbread cookies … I make it all the time, but got some fresh plums at the farmers market on Sunday and made it with sliced plums this time)

I absolutely adore those wallpapers - especially the pale blue one - my friend is going to buy some and cover her very old kitchen table (in a sort of decoupage type way) and repaint her chairs in the pale blue to blend - the stripes in the paper are fabulous - it would have looked amazing in your bedroom ❤❤❤

I completely love Burleigh Pottery. After I saw your first video on it a couple years ago, I ordered their catalog and intended to get a big teapot and some cups bit I've not done that yet. My favorite pattern is Blue Asiatic Pheasant; it's so delicate and muted. When you showed the wallpapers I could hardly contain myself! I would love the light tones in a bedroom, and the dark in a dining room. The dark is so very elegant! I'm crazy for it! Gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing all these lovely places, artwork, recipes, everything. I completely appreciate you and Jöerg! I can just see that dark wallpaper with silver candelabras and place settings, cut glass crystal, fine china, walnut furniture and perhaps a matching chintz fabric on chairs. They need tablecloths in that pattern too. I could nearly swoon! 💗
