I started life with nothing and I have still got nearly all of it left. Living in a poor area of Thailand has made me realise that life can be happy with very little.
What's the latest on Ed's brain operation? Last news I saw was Nick in Pattaya from NDTVi (I think that's right). Ed's op was on Saturday 8th June at 1pm Thai time. I can't find any updates.
Hello Eddie to me you are one of a handful of vloggers who is down to earth and not full of you're own self importance who gives instead of takes. Knowing what i know in life i can relate to nearly everything you talk about its no one else's business what you do and how you afford it. Been watching you quite a few years now and share you're love of Asia. Glad to hear you are thinking about you're next trip and looking forward to it and learning from a street wise and no nonsense attitude that doesn't go overboard telling us information we don't need to know. Much appreciated 🙏
I really appreciate your honesty and no nonsense attitude.I always watch your vlogs and i always enjoy your trips.I can relate to your upbringing.Me myself never received a penny from nobody. And both my parents were alchoholics.Thank you for bringing joy and pictures from far away. It's very much appreciated.Look forward to follow you whereever you may travel.Cheers Eddie!
You deserve every penny you earn Eddie it is not a coincidence you are hitting 45000 subs your content is first class and people love your vlogs keep them coming mate cheers.
Lets be frank. The main reason Eddie has the money to travel so much and live so well is that he never married or had kids. That's the money pit where the rest of us de-invest our money. A couple of kids will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars...and we all know what a divorce costs. Smart man. If I had my time over again....
Eddie, you put lot of work into running these channels and any reward you get is well earned. Its entertainment, information and a bloody good laugh too! so anyone complaining about anything you rightly earn from your hard work, should give their head a wobble! Your efforts are much appreciated mate, thanks for doing this stuff, its a massive help to many, you give good info and give tips for new and experienced travellers too. Cheers mate, take care.
Thank you for your content. A pleasure being a viewer. Fun respectful and honest. If most people and our politicians where like you, this world would be very different. I see you as my travel explorer / agent in the field. I'll gladly support that. Have you considered new explorations in the Philippines?
What a beautiful day that was, happening all around you. A lazy turquoise sea rolling onto a wide crescent beach, a riot of tropical green spilling down to meet it, coconut palms exploding into a blue sky filled with white fluffy clouds. I know this was filmed earlier this year, but damn. From where I'm sitting here in the UK, now, in chilly October, you are one lucky guy, Eddie.
Great video Eddie, it brings it all back, you will never see chewang beach that deserted normally, looking forward to more vids upon your return. cheers, H
Great video and glad to see you back in Thailand. I haven't been to Koh Samui before, although I have been to nearby Phuket and Krabi a couple of times, but I will have to go after seeing your walk along that lovely beach! Loved the topic today as I get asked that question all the time. My answer is partially like yours - working, saving and investing money, plus being frugal and looking for deals constantly. The other part of my equation is that I committed totally to living abroad - so I am literally transferring any and all expenses I would have living in Canada, to living abroad and in many cases, it is much cheaper, particularly because Canada has some of the highest housing costs in the world. The average rent is now $2000 usd a month in major Canadian cities - well, I can get a better new and furnished apartment near a beach in Vietnam for a quarter of that cost (or even less). So I am SAVING money. I don't own or rent property in Canada because I travel full time. Secondly, I don't own a vehicle! That means I am not making car payments, maintenance and gas - saving hundreds a month - which pays for plane tickets! I get it - many people can't or won't make this kind of committment - but that is a major reason why I can afford to travel all the time. Secondly costs like internet, cell phones, transportation, are all cheaper than in Canada, so once again, I am saving money. It is why I will retire, for at least a decade, god willing in a cheap and warm and beautiful country like any in SE Asia or Mexico or southern Europe even. I saw my grandparents plan for a retirement of travel, only to get sick soon after - so I am doing it NOW - because it is my priority. Different strokes for different folks. Oh, and I'd buy a t-shirt with your logo - and wear it proudly on beaches worldwide!!
Greetings Ed, Work hard and play hard, you deserve it! We appreciate all your travels and your you tube channel. Also, being unmarried goes a long way to being able save money. Budget does not mean stingey, it means being smart! A 5 star bed is the same as a 2 star bed. More power to you and your lifestyle.
So of the comments mentioned you are a taxi driver. Is that how you make most of your money. It would explain how you can start and stop work whenever you want.
I come from the same background and have clawed my way up against all odds. The Adverse Childhood Experiences cast a long shadow in life. Notwithstanding, I'm now on my first trip to SEA and enjoying Phuket. 😁✌🏻
Good on you Eddie. You don't have to spend loads of money to travel. If you work hard and put a bit away that bit away can take you a long way. All the best 👌
Your doing fine Eddie - no need to explain - from what I have gathered in the past videos - you work intensely and hard most of the year. Keep up the good work. YES on MERCH n T-Shirts don't be shy ! How will you recognize me on street as legit subscriber :) without your shirt You save me money and time by doing the research and the leg work - you add value to my trip to Asia, my experience and that is the bottom line Eddie, keep doing what your doing and thank you,
Ed, take a look at this channel "Integrity Legal Thailand" The given rule for staying in Thailand is 6 months in any 12 month period, if you are entering in and out, on a tourist visa, or the tourist stamp, and also some of the comments are interesting on what has happened to people. The video is "How long can you stay in Thailand on a tourist visa" I said as i noticed a comment asking how long they can stay. The guy is a American Thai lawyer in BKK
Don't listen to the low lifes when they call you an E beggar Eddie most of us appreciate your efforts and your work to keep us informed....keep doing what you do mate.
I think right now is a perfect time to be doing Thailand vlogs. A lot of the vloggers I watched have disappeared or are just not producing the content anymore. A good time for someone to sneak in and take up the slack.
I went to Koh Samui on my 2nd of the 4 trips to Thailand and it was much better than Phuket - a very beautiful island. I'll say my favourite Thai islands are Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui, Koh Lipe and Koh Tao
Your Business is your own Ed, don't have to explain yourself to anyone. I watch your videos, because I enjoy what you do, and how you do it, I detest the subject of money in any form. I don't care what anyone has got, I only care what I have. You come into the world with nothing, and you will surely leave it with nothing.
Thanks for the education Eddie. Wow! I didn’t know RU-vid takes 30% of your SuperChats! Yes, you should consider T-Shirts. I think a “Squeaky Door” shirt would sell.
Great for being honest really it's no one's business I'm exactly same I didn't sort my life until I was 33 now with my Thai wife I'm retired living the dream 💞
I always make a budget for travelling to Thailand and travel 2 times a year . Been there last June and my next tour has already planned in January but just for less than a month.
Hi Edward..., Excellent video and more than informative, and "Thank you" for sharing the video... * The video with excellent ( truthful ) information and to be more than honest..., none of their business... I enjoy your videos and very helpful information, and the video quality is excellent... * Information is the ( key ) and your videos provide honest and truthful information and what things ( cost ) at the time of the video... Without truthful information, including cost or expenses..., the video or videos mean nothing... * I am a "Subscriber" and I hit the bell, and glad I did ! ! I always ( learn ) something new from your videos and I will continue to watch your very informative videos... Your friend always.., " Semper Fi " Mike in Montana :)
I pay 12€ a month NOT to see the ads. Sorry about that. You're good value, Eddie. I live on the Med but I have a beach walk then watch the telly because I still need to save money to enjoy my holidays AWAY from the Med. Bravo Eddie. +1
@@cryptotrader2779 Good idea +1. I have it installed too. Does it work on RU-vid though? Being as Google Chrome and RU-vid have the same owner, that might be a conflict of interests.
@@cryptotrader2779 Worth knowing. That could save me 144€ a year. Thanks! (Although I tend to use the YT phone app to stream RU-vid via Chromecast to any TV so the missus can watch with me 🤔.) 👍+1 The money's better in my pocket.
Multiple sources of income is so important, especially in this economic climate. I can travel for about 5 months of the year, broken up throughout the year. In my case decisions made 20 years ago are now reaping the benefits. People will always be jealous sad to say. Ignore the haters and just enjoy your life.
eddie.when are you going to cambodia. i arrive in siem reap next week.i look at most of your videos. i would like to buy you a beer in pub street, if you are in town
I love this video, it’s good when you’re more transparent with your fans. Everybody likes to see behind the scenes sometimes. I would definitely wear a tank top or a muscle shirt with some of your famous slogans “A bit of rumpy pumpy” “Alright, I’ve waffled on long enough” “A good old dirty massage” “Cheers”
Your a hard worker you don’t live above your means an old saying Edd my granmother said it’s not what you earn ? It’s what you save not what you eat what you digest not what you learn what you remember. Never kill time redeem time . Edd I come from an old romany background and we bloody worked hard mate. Yes Edd you never beg love your channel
Steady Eddie tellin’ it, how it is. Been a subscriber for years, appreciate your content, most importantly your candor. Much respect to you Eddie, thanks for doing this ! It’s the only way I’ll ever get to see any of these beautiful places. If you make a “rompy pompy” t-shirt, I’m getting it! Cheers and safe travels as always.
I went first time to Kos-Samui they used Oil lamps There was no Electricty Only generaters 150baht for a straw bungalow (oil lamps) I have been to most places in Asia started in 82 I have found were to stay eat go to ever since 3 times a year since then I would be very well off but now only in memories REGRET NONE OF IT
This is an old post, but suggested to me today. The title is something I'm figuring out with three options with a return to Costa Rica next month. The ten day car rental alone there pays for a nice open jaw in Asia. The primordial is it's worth it. That said, I'm studying 3 intins including Thailand in combo w/India and Nepal. The air price is dear, but fare and land cost will bring cost down to other options. I'm also looking at Argentina, Brazil and Peru. Those options I'm weighing against traveling to Israel and Egypt and the advisories. I prefer the later option, but Asia is more feasible.
A couple of minutes into this video had to stop I don’t want to know your past or how you earned your money or how your earning etc etc it’s none mine or anybody else’s damn business end off!!!.. I watch your travelogues because there real informative & fun keep them coming & well done👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
In Bangkok and then Pattaya and whatever comes my way.We just love this place.I Did notice Bangla Road will soon be coming Bhangra Road.Hope its for the good
Hey Eddie. How good is Chaweng beach? Firstly, I think any naysayer needs to remind themselves that you my friend are on holiday and paying for it. Filming and uploading vlogs certainly cuts into your holiday time from being able to just lose yourself having time off from work back at home. Secondly, it's really nobodies business how much you earn (or don't earn) from RU-vid. My advice is for these people to start their own RU-vid channel and find out for them selves. You have a long list of growing subscribers who just love what you do and what you share. All the best mate and thanks for sharing!
