I think it's a process. You become aware of sin and then you repent. At first you know there is struggling cause sin is too strong. But when you repent and ask the holy spirit to take this from you.. as days go by you will see that this sin has no power anymore over you. Thumbs up, so this comment will be at top to read for everyone. Amen

I -try- not commit sin on purpose, but the fact that I don't read my Bible enough, and don't listen to the Holy Spirit telling me to do things gives me the feeling my sins are *gargantuous* . And knowing that God wants us to be perfect for the day He comes and takes His bride home, I feel like I'm not doing enough, and thus am not worthy of being saved by Him. I mean, Jesus gave Himself up, got tortured, carried a cross, was nailed on said cross, agonized for hours, died the death of sinners *volontarily* and I can't even go ring my neighbours' doors and tell them the Gospel even though I know God tells me to do so? I'm worse than pathetic
@surelock5921
@surelock5921 5 лет назад
Well, Brother/Sister, you are right in saying that you are pathetic- all of us are, apart from God. But think of it like this: The very moment Jesus hung for us on that cross, He saw you and me: puny, pathetic, miserable, disloyal, disobedient us, and all the sins we would ever commit in our lifetime. And he said: "These ones too, are absolutely worth it." That's right. You and I were worth Deicide- the literal death of God. And if we were worth that to Him, we can assured of our worth as Children of God now. So don't let the fact that you stumble deter you from running the race. Rather, "Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every weight and the sin which so easily entangles. And let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfector of our faith," (Hebrews 12:1-2) May His word encourage, exhort, and convict you as you continue growing in Him and chasing His Kingdom. Blessings.

Such a proof of the unconditional love He has for His creation truly is something that trenscends our fallen human minds. I am saddened I can't praise the Lord enough because I'll never be able to fully realize just how much He loves us. It is important that you answer God's call to repentance the way the Bible teaches. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is salvation. You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Hebrews 5:9 And having been made perfect, He [Jesus] became the author of 👉 *eternal salvation to all those who obey Him* Please stay in the word and obey it (James 1:22). The truth will set you free from all sin (John 8:31-32, 36). Ultimately, you need to abide in Jesus and relate to what this scripture says: 1 John 3:6 Whoever abides in Him [Jesus] *does not sin.* Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

I have been in this situation many of times. Your heart is hardening because you are quelling/grieving the Holy Spirit - now is the time to STOP! It's been six months since you posted this, but I would encourage you to look at your sin differently. First, know that sin is false, counterfeit deceitful impersonation of what God has for you. James 1:14-15 states "But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death." Recognize sin for what it is... DEATH. Second, trust in Jesus that His plan for you is better (to not sin). His plan, to obey, brings life both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Call on the power of Jesus, in His mighty Name, to deliver you and give you the strength to overcome it and have victory over it. Lastly, find a bible verse that addresses the sin you struggle with. Jesus defeated temptation by quoting scripture to the Devil. I would suggest you do the same when you are tempted. I will pray for you! Salvation is something you can prove out in our walk as stated in 2 Peter 1:10 "Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall." Have FAITH!

We were all born with a sin nature. We can't escape it. But also, it seems - we didn't choose that! We could not have chosen to be born with no sin. We won't be able to stop all sin in our lives, ever, til the day we die! Jesus's sacrifice was necessary to save us! There was no other way. I do struggle with the thought, why should I feel badly about my sin when I am human and by very definition of being human, I will sin? Anyone have thoughts on this? Of course, the Holy Spirit in me tells me not to do certain things. I am not looking for an excuse to sin more. I am saved because I believe in who Jesus is and what He did - and that is the ONLY thing in which my salvation lies. His work entirely, not mine at all! But how should I think about my tendency to sin then? It's not easy to navigate these topics.

@douglaidlaw740

I totally agree, Pam. I have consistently argued here that focusing on ourselves is a symptom of a deficiency in love. Instead of wondering what Heaven will be like, we need to pay more attention to whether we will be allowed in the door. All this talk of whether we will lose our salvation, I.e. our admission ticket, is completely self-centred. Can we arrive at Heaven and say: "I demand admission; here is my ticket,"? I think not. John's letters, Paul in 1 Cor 13 and Jesus Himself in Matt. 2 all stress that the essential quality is an outward looking life of loving, not a life of wondering whether our admission ticket is still valid. Paul says that anything less is a waste of time.

@@douglaidlaw740 I won't disagree with you, but the Devil does try to convince us otherwise, some more than others - depending on the footholds established. A saved person is nolonger a sinner .A sinner is someone who reject the truth someone who doesn't receive Jesus as his personal saviour. Romans 10 vs 9. I encourage you to read and understand the word of God that is the truth and the truth shall set you free. without the truth you can not defeat the devil. Mathew 6 vs 33 seek the kingdom first. when satan was tempting Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus defeated him by the truth which is the word of God .he was referring satan to the scriptures .so all I can tell you my brethren it's the battle for the mind 2 corinthians 10 vs 4-6. we pull down strongholds ,casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

Paul Washer has a very helpful phrase on this subject: If you love God more than sin, you are probably saved But if you love sin more than you love God, you are probably lost A simple way to strive against sin is to "CAP your sin": C - Confess (right away and very specifically to the Lord) A - Accept His forgiveness (Jesus Christ paid in full; His righteousness is credited to us by faith) P - Pray against sin (Depend on the Lord and not our own flesh to overcome sin in the future) All three steps are important, EVERY TIME we are aware we sin. It is easy to forget steps A or P. May the Lord grant us all grace to continually strive against sin.

@cotydanger4071
@cotydanger4071 5 лет назад
Dan Ball where does that verse you quoted say anything about ones salvation? You must understand that Christ did not come to make the flesh better, he came to crucify it. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭ “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:11‬ ‭ Paul spoke about this in Romans, saying that as long as a person lives he is under the condemnation of the law, but if he dies the law has no power over him now, “Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:1-2‬ Jesus also spoke about this to Nicodemus. He said, “unless he be born again” and he also said, “that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit. The new birth is a spiritual one and it is as righteous as Christ himself. Just as we all were born from the seed of Adam, true believers have been from the spiritual seed of Christ. 1 John talks about this.. “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭ The new birth CANNOT sin. 1 Peter also talks about this seed, “having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,” ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭1:23‬ ‭ The seed is incorruptible because it was wrought by God himself through Christ. Please understand that these 2 births are different. One is of the flesh and one of the spirit. God doesn’t take a dog and clean him up and say now your a chicken, and he doesn’t take our flesh, clean it up and say now your my child, no, he had to kill. And he did that by sending Christ to be our representative and die the death we deserved so that we may become the righteousness of God through him. Let me say something else, if you have never put your trust where God put your sin, on Jesus bleeding on the cross, and In that alone you are not saved. Salvation is all by God’s grace, and grace is not of works “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-9‬ ‭ The great savior did not come to share the glory of accomplishing salvation with you, he came to accomplish it alone and offer it to unworthy sinners.

@@cotydanger4071 To answer your question, "know Him" is salvation. Amen to all you have said, only you need to move on from Romans 6 & 7 into Romans 8 The flesh cannot keep the Law. Jesus Christ is that. Those who are led by the Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, and then progressively fulfill the heart of the Law: Love God and others. Romans 8:2-5 "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit." Paul concludes the section by saying lives are changed for true believers: Romans 8:13-14 "For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."

Jesus said go and sin no more.. honour god in all you do.. and love others as he loves us. these three things take unbearable sacrifice and practice at times.. but the bad crop will be burned and the good will be used in the celebration feast of eternal life... I am glad I struggle with my sin.. it means I am on the right path, to honouring God with all my heart, soul, and mind. It’s just heart breaking at times, so it’s comforting to know others are walking this road with me. We all receive the same encouragement from Gods word... that is comforting... Are you going to tell me, like everyone else here, that what you say is true because the Bible says so? That's not evidence. This is such a confirmation for me. In the past week I had read 1 John and I was struggling with one of these issues (do I bear [enough] fruit to show that I'm saved). It caused a depression for 2-3 days until He answered me in pretty much the way Dr. Piper described here. This is even though I have struggled with this same issue several times over the years, and even though God has always been faithful to me and has confirmed His love for me in Christ, I still get caught in these ruts. And on top of Christ confirming to me in His own way (again) that I really belong to Him, He gave me this video to watch as icing on the cake. Praise be to the Lamb, and thank you Desiring God!

The fruit of a saved person is other saved people. An apple tree produces apples, an orange tree produces oranges, a Christian produces other Christians. Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise. People have been deceived into thinking they should have all the fruit of the Spirit for confirmation they are saved. If people don’t attempt to preach the gospel to others (aka soulwinning) they will never bear any fruit, but that does not mean they are not saved. There are many examples of fruitless christians in the Bible, think of Lot for example. Work and therefore fruit are not required for salvation because salvation is “to him that worketh not but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Calvinists preachers are lying to you. Calvinism teaches works based salvation. Look up the Bible way to heaven by Sanderson1611 or verity Baptist Church and hear the true gospel so you can get saved.

Grapes of the Vine, To enjoy your salvation to the fullest without always struggling against sin, you should step out from Calvinism.... They are always struggling against sin forever without improvement... as MacArthur once said: welcome to the club... They are a club whose life is always struggling against sin because they believe the evil doctrine of a murderer who himself is not saved.... Come out from this club and seek JESUS with all your Heart because JESUS is our only Comfort and Assurance and the Only one who can give you joy of being saved... Calvinism can never do that because their doctrine is evil.... I can prove that to you if you are interested.... But for a Start, Listen to this famous Statement of John Calvin... and analyze it well if it is scriptural or not... Because it definitely is not Scriptural and even contradicts the Character of God... Here is his Statement: ''GOD ARRANGES ALL THINGS BY HIS SOVEREIGN COUNSEL, IN SUCH A WAY THAT INDIVIDUALS ARE BORN, WHO ARE DOOMED FROM THE WOMB TO CERTAIN DEATH, AND ARE TO GLORIFY HIM BY THEIR DESTRUCTION.'' NOTE: I have asked several Calvinist to show me a verse that God is glorified by sending people to hell for eternal damnation, and were predestined to suffer eternally before they were even born... They believe that God created some people for the God's purpose to suffer eternally in hell because God is sovereign..... But they cannot give a verse that says so because there is NONE...

We will never experience a perfect repentance and that"s why repentance is not a "one moment door" that we enter the narrow way. Repentance is the current lifestyle state of the narrow way traveller. Faith in Jesus + Nothing (in other words, faith in Jesus alone) is equal to Salvation. And the Spirit of God produces repentance as lifestyle state in the hearth of the new born persom and is making him to persevere in that way.

@@TiagoMuhlethaler When one understands their sin, and their need of a Savior, they have a “change of mind” about their sin. Which leads to one turning to Christ/Coming to FAITH or Trust in God! I like to think of it like this, How can one come to Faith/trust in the Savior if they don’t understand their need of a Savior? Here’s An Analogy: If I offered you a Cure for a deadly disease, you’d probably decline it and keep on going with your day. But If I told you that you have that deadly disease, and you’re in DESPERATE need of that Cure you’d take that Cure immediately! That’s how it is with Repentance and Faith. When one comes to Repentance, and understands their sin, and how deadly it truly is (The disease), they’ll come to Faith/Trust in Christ (The Cure), because they understand their need of a Savior.

First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No exception. All men are sinners. All sin has to be punished. One sin, you go to hell forever to pay for that one sin. So, how can a sinner be saved? Since we are all sinners, and there is none righteous, no not one, then how can we be saved from a literal fire burning hell. We all deserve to go to hell. No one deserves to go to heaven. One sin, and the wages of sin is death. But wait, But the GIFT of God is eternal life. That is good news. Jesus went to the cross to pay for the sins of the whole world, so that anyone who believed He did it for them, would be saved from hell and go to heaven. First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. So what must we do to be saved from hell? Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, (what Jesus did for us) through Faith, (when we believe First Corinthians 15:1-4 That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures, When we believe that Jesus finished work on the cross is full payment for our sins, He seals us unto the day of redemption by His Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30. All our sin debt has been paid in full, and we can never be condemned again. John 3:18.) And that not of yourselves. (we did nothing for it,) It is the GIFT of God, NOT OF WORKS, (You can not work your way to heaven) lest any man should boast. You can not boast in a free gift. AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL AND WE PAID 0. IT IS FREE. 'When we believe the gospel, that Jesus paid our sin debt in full, and we can no longer be condemned, He imputes His perfect righteousness to us and will no longer impute sin to our account. Romans 4:6-8. He paid our whole sin debt and we are given eternal life just by believing on His name. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. Romans 11:6 It is all grace, not works, What Jesus did for us, not by what we do or do not do. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believe on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Second timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the foundation of God is sure, having this seal, (Ephesians 1:13 ) the Lord knoweth them that are His, and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Unbelief. Romans 8:9 Without the Spirit of God, there is no salvation. With the Spirit we have eternal life. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. How great it is to know we are going to heaven when we die because Jesus has paid our bride price. What if we sin all next week? Paid in full. What if we just keep on sinning? Paid in full. We all sin because even after we have believed and received the free gift, we still have our old sinful nature. it is only our soul/spirit that is saved, not the flesh. Should we live in sin just because we can? God forbid that we should walk any more in it. But, when we sin, grace abounds, where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. You can not out sin grace or grace would no longer be grace. Romans 11:6.

I know Jesus loves us all so much and wants none of us to perish. If His love is perfect, which it is, and He so badly wants us to be with Him in eternity, I know He's working (as is the Holy Spirit) to keep us until the end. I pray that all who are suffering this conviction know that if we trust in Him, He will not let us down; I pray that the Holy Spirit gives all of us strength in our faith and peace while we go through the trials of this life. It is not presumption to know we have eternal life because Jesus said so and He can not lie. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that BELIEVETH in me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. If we have everlasting life now, can you lose everlasting life? No, It would not be everlasting if it was temporary or probationary. It is eternal life, and Jesus is the only one who can give it. John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. And my Father who is greater than all, no one can pluck them out of His hand. John 3:18 Believers can never be condemned again. We may be chastened by the Lord, and even to losing our life early, but we can not lose what God has already finished through the life, death , and resurrection of His Son. First Corinthians 5:5 Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh, so that his Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. This born again believer was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to lose his life, and the rewards he could have had, but he was still saved so as by fire. His works would be burned up, but the believer was still saved and went to heaven. Jesus paid for all sin so that anyone who would believe He did it for them would be saved. All our sins are paid. If we have no sin to pay for, then we can not go to hell to pay for them. Jesus already paid our sin debt in full. We still reap what we sow, but our sin debt is paid in full. When Jesus said on the cross, it is finished, that is an accounting term. It means paid in full. We can no longer be condemned. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. It is free. For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, and we all die, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Believing is receiving. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the children of God, even to them that BELIEVE ON HIS NAME. If you have ever believed, ye are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise and will go to heaven. Jesus said so, and He can not lie. Our salvation is based on what He did for us, not on what we do or do not do. Our works. Salvation by works never works. It is all grace without works. Romans 11:6

It is important that what you regard as repentance is what God calls repentance in the Bible. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (Romans 3:25), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), freedom from sin/addictions (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). Piper amazes me with his lack of understanding scripture. You know your saved by simple faith a.k.a actually believing Jesus when he says "he that believeth on the son hath everlasting life" Jesus died for you, was buried and rose again to saved you. Just believe it worked, nothing difficult about this. The modern day western church makes stuff harder than it needs to be. Ephesians 1:13-14 "In Him you also TRUSTED, after you heard the word of truth, the GOSPEL of your salvation, in whom also, having BELIEVED, you were SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the GUARANTEE of OUR INHERITANCE UNTIL THE REDEMPTION OF THE PURCHASED POSSESSION, to the praise of His glory"

Repentance = greek word for metanoia which means to change your mind, in the context of true salvific biblical repentance what it is saying is change your MIND from UNBELIEF in Christ alone as your savior (aka trusting in yourself, trusting in your law keeping, trusting in your "turning from sins") and BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christs finished redemptive work on the cross for remission of your sins. The gospel is the same today as it was 2000 years ago and it will never change, we are justified by GRACE alone through FAITH alone in CHRIST alone.

I don't know what you mean by "sin free" but the Bible certainly says you should be "freed from sin." Please look into that in John 8:34-36, Romans 6:6-7. It also says you will become "dead to sin" as a follower of Jesus (1 Peter 2:24, Romans 6:2, Romans 6:11). These are different ways of saying that a person who has been saved by grace through faith will not live under the power of sin. That would be a contradiction to what Romans 6:14 says: Romans 6:14 For *sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace.* Ultimately, you need to abide in Jesus and relate to what this scripture says: 1 John 3:6 Whoever abides in Him [Jesus] *does not sin.* Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. It will come down to this: If you could stop sinning would you want to? There is a Good News about that. Jesus made the way for that. Jesus says this to anyone who has an encounter with Him: "I do not condemn you; now, go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). That's when a sinner who repents receives a clean slate to start walking in God's ways. Jesus did not command something that was impossible, but something that is doable with his help when we are in complete submission to Him and only want to do God's will, e.g. submit to God and resist the devil so that he flees (James 4:7).

That “shame” you experience is called condemnation. It comes from a carnal mind that still can’t understand spiritual things. If you are a believer, you are no longer under any condemnation. God isn’t upset with you at all. You can preach the word to yourself daily by preaching who you are in Christ and what he has given you.
@yestothetruth

@udonemessedup1970 The most important thing is for someone to be who they are supposed to be in Christ. They are not merely a new creature in Christ by believing that they are that new creature without having taken the way to that. If they *became* that new creature, then there is no way they will miss on noticing that fact. And the new life they will live from that point on will also be screaming that they have been resurrected to a newness of life (Romans 6:4). It's a dangerous thing to preach to yourself who you think you are when you have not become what you know you are supposed to be. And most definitely, this is true: Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, *who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.* So, the person who is indeed not carnal won't be driven to sin because of the power of the flesh and its desires. That flesh will be crucified (Galatians 5:24). So, walking according to the flesh does not go hand in hand with being under no condemnation in Christ Jesus. You said the opposite to the OP, like walking according to the flesh is of no consequence. Someone trapped in sin still is necessarily carnal (Romans 7:14, John 8:34 VS Romans 8:2, John 8:36), not spiritual in some other angle. It's one or the other. Not living according to the flesh (carnal) and thinking God is blind to it or that there is anything spiritual in that. You want to find out for sure sooner rather than later if what you believe is true (Galatians 5:19-21 is relevant). We would all be on the same page if we all agreed with the Bible message about repentance and what God says that it's about.

@@friendyadvice2238 I did not comment to sound like what I am. But may you hear God's word and agree with how you should be if you are walking in what Jesus died to give you as a gift if you would come to Him the way He expects, and not deny that life as impossible. Don't hear it from anyone. Hear it from Jesus whether you can and should be sin free (I personally said "freed from sin") or something else. So, you understood my first reply and just didn't like how it sounded? If you don't like how the truth sounds, then you cannot know it as the truth that will set you free from sin (I advise you to read and believe John 8:31-36). Without the truth, you will be stuck thinking this or that can or cannot be and you will be happy with what you want to believe. And if what sounds good to you is a lie, know what that means also, in all seriousness. I'll make this my last reply.

I grieve for all those looking for assurance in such totally subjective preaching. Why does he preach like this? Because Calvinism robs anyone of the plain and simple assurance of the Word. Whosoever, all, the world, believe, trust-these words all have Calvinistic fine print that robs one of assurance. It wasn't ALL that Christ died for, nor is the the WORLD that God loves to save. So instead of being able to say, I believe what God says: "He who has the Son has life," and "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved," those who listen to this dear man are left to look INWARD instead of away from ourselves to the Lord. "These things are written to you who believe that you might KNOW that you HAVE eternal life." What Christ did on the Cross makes me SAFE when I simply believe. What God says in His Word makes me sure-on the same basis: when I believe. "We shall assure ourselves before Him." It is an entirely wrong notion of death that sets the seeker's feet on the wrong path. The story of Lazarus is NOT an illustration of a person held in spiritual death, incapable of responding. The context is clear. It is a picture of the victory of the believer over physical death, and Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life." Want a picture of spiritual death? Jesus tells us the story of the prodigal: "This my son was dead..." and while he was dead, he "came to himself" and then came to the Father. I'd take Jesus' words over any theologian. And faith? Must it be given to you as a special impartation? NO! "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." May this help some poor struggling soul to find "joy and peace in believing." Faith, belief mean simply this: take God at His word, and simply rest where He rests-in the FINISHED work of Christ.

I pray you will experience the reality, the sweetness of God's love for you. Not only knowing it in your head but actually experiencing it in your heart. You have to be sick and tired of life running around the circle. That was me being a Christian since birth (not really, I was a sinner since birth) knowing everything about the love God for me, even talking about it but it's empty. Until one day, hearing this song "Jesus we love you" I want to sing it but I know deep inside my heart I can't because it will just be hipocrisy for me. So the desire to be able to say "Jesus I love you" was birth in my heart. One day, while I was driving and the same song was playing in my car, suddenly this feeling/awareness of being loved by God through what Jesus' had to suffer and died for me felt so real and cried my heart out like never before. It changed my whole life. It's no longer a struggle against sin but a snuggle with His presence His Word and His love. Bless you!!!

One who is truly saved will be miraculous changed. I think the biggest lie in the Christian churches is the teaching that there is no escape from the flesh nature while in the body. In truth, the flesh has no power over those who have truly been Born Again. The struggle is when people try to conquer their sin by their own power, because they have not received the Holy Spirit: Scripture says, Collosians 2:11 "and in Him (Jesus) you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ," This tells us that Jesus removes the flesh nature when one is truly reborn. Romans 8:9-11 confirms this: "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you." The Apostle John said: 1 John 3 "Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister." Jude 1:24 agrees with John's teachings: "Now to him (Jesus) who is able to keep you from stumbling (sinning) and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy," Scripture also says: 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." If your preacher does not talk like God's prophets and apostles, they are a fake. When the Apostle Paul spoke about his struggles with sin, he was speaking about his past before he received the Holy Spirit, because he also said: 1 Corinthians 15:34 : "Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God-I say this to your shame." Paul also said, "Those who are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8;1-8 When Jesus said, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." He had not sent the Holy Spirit yet. Jesus told the Pharisees, "You will die in your sins." For anyone who dies in their flesh, they are guaranteed to end up in Hell. Scripture confirms this: “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” Romans 8:13. God's grace does not allow us to go on sinning. God's grace changes us. God's grace does not free us to sin. It frees us from sin. Decieved Christians have a false sense of security believing that they can sin until the day they die and still go to heaven, but they don't have faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to free them from the bondage of sin itself. Any notion of the freedom that God offers is quickly discouraged by false churches. There is more money in it for them if they keep their followers in the dark. There is no doubt, countless Christians who have embraced false doctrine have ended up in Hell. To deny the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver us from sin so that we can live a righteous life is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul said: "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14 One who has not been converted to righteousness is not saved.

You are saved if you believe the gospel. Don't believe me. No, read the gospel. I Corinthians 15:1-4 - verse (3) says that our sins were forgiven on the cross. Verse (2) says that we are saved, unless we "believe in vain." "Believing in vain" means believing anything other than our gospel of I Corinthians 15:1-4. There you go. The Bible tells us what no denomination will ever tell us. Shearing the sheep is very profitable. Another Bible proof is that our apostle Paul never tells us to worship corporately. No, he does say in Romans 12:1 - "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." ESV. Do the sheep need an earthly shepherd? No, we are members of "the body of Christ." Paul never once mentions the word shepherd in any of his 13 epistles. Who will you believe? God's true word? Or denominational men, speaking in denominational assemblies? Most choose the denominational men in the denominational assemblies.

What,s God declare pure , don't say it' s impur so you are pure once for all by what Jesus accomplished for our sake , I don't believe in progressive sanctification .I believe that i am sanctified once for all by His sacrifice hebrew 10,10 and Christ express His abondant Life trough me day after day but i'am 100 % santified, like was the criminal on the cross aside Jesus. .It is simply a question of faith not by what you feel . Stop asking God to forgive you. Stop keeping shorting accounts. Quit answering altar calls to rededicate yourself to a life you can't live. One way to tell if a person is truly saved and abiding in the Spirit is he will no longer listen to false teachers like John Piper... Like most false teachers, John Piper does not speak a string of continual lies... that would be easy for even a baby Christian to discern... but like most false teachers, John Piper preaches Mixture - the truth seasoned with lies - to tickle the ears of his listeners. It is not enough for those in the holy remnant to separate themselves from false teachings... no that will not do! All in the holy remnant must also separate themselves from the source of false teachings - false teachers like John Piper! Jesus is willing to forgive all false teachers including John Piper.... but He will not do so in a manner that is counter to His Word. Jesus will not forgive sin that is not first forsaken. Fear God, repent and live!

I can’t tell you (nor is it my job to) whether or not you or anyone else is truly saved. I can present the gospel to you, tell you what the Bible says - but truly only God can see inside the hearts of men (women). But what I can do is tell you that I walk in full confidence of my eternal security every day, and how walking in that faith has transitioned into my daily life. I can honestly say, I’ve witnessed changes in my life - all good ones too. I didn’t get saved and become a new person overnight - but I def don’t live the same life that I used to. I witnessed the changes happen little by little in my life. I’m not perfect, I still struggle with things - but I know for a fact that the spirit of God has delivered me from things that seemed impossible for me to stop doing before. I now have a passion to share the gospel with any and everyone, knowing what Jesus did for me and how much I want the same things for everyone else. I have a different outlook on how I am to treat people than I did before - understanding that I’ve been forgiven of so much by God and I now try my best to walk in the same forgiving spirit. I just feel like a new person; looking back at old photos and videos of myself - it’s like that ole me never existed, and in reality the Bible lets us know that indeed our old lives in the flesh have died, nailed to that same cross Christ was nailed to.... and when He rose, our new lives arose with Him! 🙌🏻 The point of this post is not to glorify myself in any way, but rather for those who claim to be Christians to ask yourself - are you walking out your faith, or is believing in Jesus just a get out of hell free card? I’m not here to tell you if you are or aren’t saved, in fact the Bible says we aren’t to make those assumptions at all - but I know for me, my faith had a dramatic change in my daily life, in which I am witnessing first hand it continue to grow daily in my walk. Trusting in the gospel of what Jesus Christ did on the cross is more than us trying to get to Heaven, it’s about experiencing Heaven on earth, changing our lives and live the type of lives that God has intended us to live all along. Seeking to live in obedience and love, while the rest of the world walks in a different direction towards pleasing themselves. I just want to live my life day in and day out for Jesus Christ who died so you and I can live - both eternally and in newness of life in our flesh. Salvation doesn’t come from being part of a religion, we aren’t saved because we go to church, or because we earn it... it’s about recognizing the sinful state we’re in and realizing just how lost we truly are - and from there placing our faith in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross to save us. I can’t tell you whether or not your saved or if you truly believe in the gospel, again it’s not my job to, all I can do is share my testimony and let you know that my faith in what Jesus did has eternally secured me, and has given me the type of life that I never once expected to have! My change in life was a RESULT of my salvation, not the cause of it. My salvation was found at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ, where I placed my faith one day..... and never looked back since! 🙌🏻

Salvation is a free gift that your faith provides through the blood of Jesus Christ. We will all sin regardless of salvation. We will not become perfect until we see our Father in Heaven.

To anyone who reads this, I was a lukewarm Christian for about 4 years. It wasn’t until one day a couple days ago I listened to a reenactment of Judgement day. After listening to it, it gave me a great fear, I was terrified, because I knew if I had died at that moment, that would be my eternal destiny. I had asked God to open my eyes and to give me an answer if I still had a chance to be saved or if it was too late for me (at this point I felt as if I was too far gone). About a day or two later I believe, I was on TikTok at around 2AM and what I believed to be God gave me a video that touched my spirit which spoke about Gods forgiveness and at that moment, I decided to reconcile with Jesus. 2 days later I fell into sin, and then the same sin again TWICE in one Day. I felt ashamed because I gave into this sin willingly and I felt the guilt, and still gave in. I was and still am in despair, fearing that maybe I am a false convert and that the video I saw about judgement day is where I am headed. Even now, I gave into the same sin (I have an addiction to pornography) and just feel like even if God was willing to forgive me. How do I know myself if im being sincere or even if I was sincere to begin with? I know it’s a lot to read. But this is what I’ve been going through this whole week. If the Lord leads anyone here, I pray that you could come to me straight forward and discern for me. Lord Jesus be with you.

Hey im not sure if this is still a struggle for you. In my walk I have learned that some sins are harder to overcome and some are easy depending on how deep the sin is and how long you have been struggling with that particular sin. I have asked myself the questions that you have as well when going threw sin struggles. I suggest that you keep taking your struggle to the foot of the cross asking God to deliver you from your addiction and show him that you ate willing to turn away from your sin struggle by taking actions towards it. If that means setting up something to block the sites or by having an accountability partner to help hold you accountable then do that. Don’t give up there is grace and mercy in him! We can do all things threw christ who strengthens us…I hope that this helps you! God bless you my brother…

If this answer is still relevant, I want to say to you that it's your repentance that you need to get right. There will be no confusion when you begin walking with God on the basis of genuine repentance (like the Bible teaches it) and God's response to that is that you will be set free from sin. To begin with, a sinner is a slave to sin. So, salvation in Jesus is about being set free from sin: Luke 4:18-19 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, 19 and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." John 8:34-36 34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, *whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.* 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore *if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.* I speak to you as someone who was trapped in the bondage of porn addiction. I had to agree in my heart that I was not going to choose the way of sin anymore. I did not know what my life was going to look like but I was on board with that plan. I trusted that God would help me to walk in his will and He did. I got born again and that's something I had no sense of, just believing it had happened for me when that was not the case and I continued to be trapped in sin. But getting (truly) born again was the beginning of living my life for God and sin no longer had a hold over me as it was supposed to be for someone who had been saved by grace: Romans 6:14 For *sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under the law, but under grace.* The scriptures are clear but it's when we listen to people saying things that don't actually line up with the Bible that our experience as Christians also will not line up with God's promise. Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (Romans 3:25), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset: James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. You have to be in 100% agreement with God about doing his will for the rest of your life and you will become "dead to sin" as the Bible says (1 Peter 2:21-24, Romans 6:1-2, Romans 6:11): that is how you will be set free from sin (John 8:34-36, Romans 6:4-7, Romans 6:14-18). It is the truth that will set you free (John 8:31-32, 36).

When you untangle this, it sounds like works based "salvation" repackaged. It sounds like no assurance of salvation. For starters, get a King James Bible, John, and then read 1 John correctly. Recognize the difference between the flesh...which believers still have, and the new birth that we are admonished to walk in it (Galatians 5:16). The new birth doesn't refrain from sinning, it is sinless (see 1 John 3:9 in the KJV). When a believer sins, he/she is walking in the flesh, and God will indeed chastise us for us and God will indeed chastise us for us if we wallow in it. Our evidence for salvation, however, lies in infallible Scripture, not in our fallible behavior, moods, and feelings. savedbygracealone.org

Agree with what you say yet the literal translation "Everyone having been generated of God does not sin,because his seed abides in him,and he is not able to sin,because he has been generated from God".Is better and is favoured by most of the elect.The KJV although better than the modern versions is mainly used by religionists and churchies these days..

Yes. You have thrown yourself towards Jesus, trusting that He is your Lord. Do make the time to confess and repent your struggles, but take solace in the gift of Jesus, who you surrendered to.

Richard Bennett I came to watch this video because I do not have assurance of my salvation bc I am stumbling and not killing the sin in my life out of my love for Jesus and saying Jesus is more most of the time and I’m not putting to death what is earthly in me and fighting my sin daily hourly secondly. I am not vigilantly combating against urges and emotions that don’t reflect Christ most of my day. Meaning I’m not in prayer with God about my struggles with sin on an hourly basis. This is why I am not sure if I am born again and I think rightly so. God demands allegiance to himself. He’s jealous for our affection and also rightly so because we are his. You ask if you are saved, i don’t know but if are in the same boat I am in then you also shouldn’t stand assured

@@jdforjc3693 Jesus' love for you/us is beyond our understanding. We know that if you seek him wholeheartedly you WILL find him(Jeremiah 29:13). So if you seek him you'll know he is in you.Then, Ask yourself do you think this sin is more powerful than God? Not a chance! So repent and ask him to cast out the bad and usher in the greatness that is him. Flee from your sin don't be lax about it (that's where I fail alot.) be vigilant always! All the best on your journey may God bless you :)

Leon Z I believe God has power over sin. I believe God is omnipotent and omniscient. But I am responsible for putting to death what is earthly in me according to Colossians 3. I am responsible but am only able by the power of the Holy Spirit. I have not repented. But also God grants repentance according to Paul in his letter to Timothy. The message I was trying to convey was I have not repented and if this guy has also not repented then we should not say we are loved by God as children of God

I struggle with sin at times, but I always get reassured when I go about doing gods will. Preaching his message with love and conviction, loving my neighbors, helping the poor and lost and resting in the lords love. Daily prayer helps alot too. I don't say I don't struggle but I do my best not to slip.
