Normally the Full time PHD gets precedence over the part time PHD.The part time appears less visible when it comes to get a job either in colleges or in Universities. Then what implicit value does it hold other than the pursuit of knowledge or for that matter to get a doctor degree?Afterall all our education is market driven; and the market rationale gives primacy to the use Value over the intrinsic value.
Mr Abhishek , I have been a part of academia for 15 years. I was the head of academic and part of the faculty recruitment panel in a premier management college. So I can assure of of one thing that majority institutions don't differentiate between a full time and part time scholar . Our selection was not based on part time or full time but rather the brand of institute/ university they are coming from and off course their depth of knowledge and experience.
@@drritikagaubaHey there ! Could you please bother to answer a few of my questions ? Does PhD help in corporate sector ? I actually don't want to enter academia, I wanna persue a career in pvt. Sector, but I've always thought of getting a PhD as well, just for the research and knowledge. So I wanna know shall I really do it ? Considering the opportunity cost of some advancements in my corporate career since PhD requires alot of dedication.
Madam i am currently working in a univ.I have applied for part time phd in another university and has been selected there..applied for NOC in current org.But even after informing them at the time of applying phd..they haven't provided me noc in the deadline. As a result I had to pay the fees of phd programme to that univ where i want to pursue phd.Otherwise my chance would have been gone. Now they are denying me to provide NOC.In this circumstances can I pursue my course work in leave without pay? What will be the consequences..plz discuss.
Hi ! I have completed my course work but in between I have been selected in PSC as an assistant professor. I had to deregister from the university for a time being. As the university I was pursuing phd is a central university. And as per the rules of CU one has to complete 2 years of residential period. I am not getting any study leave. It’s been three years (course work) I am not able to understand what should I do further. It would be really helpful if you can guide me.
Some universities allow you to convert yourself to part-time after the coursework. But it depends on what was mentioned in the PhD regulations of the university when u joined.
Quite informative! I am a Public Relations Officer in the Ministry of Defence. My area of expertise is Public Relations, also I earned my PG degree in Corporate Communication Management. Can you pls throw some light on the sites/web portals where one can search for seats in a part-time PhD program in premier institutions? Looking forward to your positive response. 🙂
Thankyou Mr Idrisi , there is no particular website for part time phd options. Part time phd it is offered by majority universities offering a phd program in India. You will have to visit various universities website to check which program suits your requirement. We have created one more video on part time phd sharing the link of the same ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t3NFzvPMjpY.html. Hi mam, for Management what are the universities and institutes offers part time phd and what is the admission timeline, I had passed NTA UGC NET for 2021 jun-dec cycle and having industry experience of 20 years , my PG passing yesr is 2004.
You can apply as soon as you start working. However there might be some universities who would want some years of experience . But ugc has set no such limit.
Mam I m pursuing PhD I have done my course work but I m deregister inbetween I have got govt job I m confused to pursue my PhD govt institution to give me a permission for pursue phd
Sir agar regular phd ho and koi scholarship na mill rahi ho, then kya course work ke baad job Kar sakte h? And kya wo coursework ke baad ka experience count hoga????
It's ma'am not sir ☺️. I assume you regular you mean full time phd ? Normally even without a stipend full time phd has to be continued for at least 2 or 3 years. Also , all this depends on your university regulations. So consult that please.
I have passed LL. M through Distance Mode and now I am practising as an advocate. I am willing to pursue PhD. I request you to kindly let me know the national law universities which provide admission to those who had finished LL. M through Distance Mode.
Ma'am my only question regarding pursuation of PhD is, can one pursue PhD from India(n)/university WHILST working in another country (for instance Dubai, in my case)? Kindly clear this doubt ma'am.
Madam, I am confused whether to deregister from my PhD program since the UGC has announced no double degree while doing PhD. I'm doing PhD from a private university and I'm also doing diploma course for a year from a govt institute where else My course work is over for PhD but I'm now confused. It would be very helpful if you can kindly suggest please
I will advise you to deregister from your diploma program. Getting admission in a PhD is tough and is going to get even tougher in the future. Diploma courses can always be done later.
@@drritikagauba thank you for responding madam. The emphasis here is also on the word used by UGC as "degree" , does it also mean diploma? that a Phd candidate should not do any other degree/diploma?
@@he2swu was ur diploma related to ur phd work? , Did u take permission from your guide in written to pursue it ? If answers to this is no then neither diploma nor degree can be pursued along with phd

Hello madam. Presently I am pursuing part time phd. Now I am unable to work for few months. Does this impact on my PhD? Is it really mandatory to work as regular employee while pursuing part time phd?
When you leave one job to join another one many time we have a gap in between . As long as you start working again soon it should not ideally matter and your University will understand the reason of the gap. I suggest please do keep your guide informed about your situation ans keep making progress in your research too. Best of luck

Usually all good companies support employees education. But it also depends on the designation and the number of years you have been with the company. So I think you should talk to your HR about this .
Mr Sanjay there is no seprate list of part time phd Universities since it is the same universities who provide both full time and part time phd and as mentioned in the video more than 90 percent universities are providing part time phd.
@@drritikagauba i asked because one of my senior was doin a part time PhD and a certificate course simultaneously.. so is it possible. To do a full time course along with phd ?
Part time PhD is can be pursued only by a working proffessional. That the condition of doing part time phd. In case you are doing a full time course you definately can't be working and therefore can't do a part time phd.

Hi Dr.Ritika, This is a good initiative. Wish you all the all the best on your journey. Is there an age restriction for part time PHD? UGC has 35 years as age limit for the JRF NET.
