I think for the most part, from my own experience, most people don’t care. I think most people don’t understand it and base depression and mental health issues as something only weak people deal with. I’ve opened up and even showed people the positive that can come from it, but at the end of the day - not much that changes.

I wonder if it's stigma from our parents. I'm suprised we havent gotten past this yet as a collective. However, I supppsed each person stage of awareness for their mentsl health journey is relative to their social location, enviornment and access to resources. I suppose it doesnt help that there is a lot of mistrust within the black community towards the health care and other systrms. I say we outta enter the spaces and provide service for our people. Thank you for your work! 😤

That is not true, we do talk about mental health. Maybe the people you encounter do not. Stigma is an issue in every community
