2020 RIP COMBO PIZZA. Dam pandemic

Hey! So I just started working at my local Costco’s food court and spend most of my shifts making pizzas. This is all pretty accurate, from Lamonica’s suppling our dough to the automatic saucing machine. I’m not so sure if I’d call the machine a robot, but it saves us a lot of time. For oil, my warehouse has a sort of squirt bottle that we keep full of canola oil and you kind of eyeball how much you put onto the dough squisher. We definitely don’t use a quarter cup at my food court, but it certainly looks like a decent sized blob of oil. The cheese pizza by far has the most cheese. It’s a mixture of mozzarella and parmesan, but I’m not sure how much of each type is used. The cheese pizza does indeed have 1.5 pounds of cheese, but the pepperoni only has 14 ounces, and our half and half pizzas have 1 pound and 2.5 ounces, at least at my warehouse. The biggest misconception here is that it takes us all 75 seconds to make an entire pizza, from dough ball to getting it in the oven. The cheese pizzas takes the more experienced employees at my warehouse around 1.5-2 minutes to get in the oven, and pepperonis take a good bit longer, closer to 3-4. Placing 60 pepperonis takes an extra minute or two, and it takes me as a new worker a little longer than that. With that said, we crank out pizzas super quickly. Hope that sheds some light on the process!

They should donate hour old or day old pizza to homless shelters. I bet they would be greatful and not put into a landfill.

I definitely like the sauce application. I prefer pizzas with a relatively large amount of pizza sauce and that machine seems to help accomplish that. The pizza portioning cutting assist device is nice too.

Eating a costco pepperoni slice while watching this lol, and yup. They do put a lot of oil lol but just use a little tissue or paper towel to get rid of excess grease

Consistent Perhaps there maybe better pizzas, but for quantity to cost, it is one of the best available nationally. Now if they would try out Chicago Deep Dish style.

4:25 I have a quick concern: Why don't major restaurants/food chains collects the food, istead of throwing in trash, give it to homeless people. I believe all the food chains do this, they throw away almost perfectly fresh food.

Forget the all the stuff about the fancy pre-made dough balls, the robot-spread sauce or the cheese combo. What gives Costco pizza that great taste is that extra quarter-cup of oil.

Yet another recycled video. Here's what you guys should do: 1) Cheap meal plans. 2) Which healthy ingredients is the cheapest. 3) Consider making a brand new series where one of the people who works at Mashed makes the best meals they can with random ingredients from the Dollar stores, or the bargain bins at a grocery store and have a food budget of how much they can spend. 4) addition to #3, also make a series on how much food you can get with "X" amount of money and it has to last the entire day. 5) How to get free (hunting, wild edible plants, etc) food or nearly free food. 6) Also mention all the weird yet fun food related things you can do at home. Affordability in hand is also a nice touch to this as well.
