Im a manager at a five guys in Michigan and this video is pretty spot on about the quality we put into our food. There’s a ton that goes into it like the fact that managers come in as early at 7 am to prep the fresh food that we serve everyday even though we open at 11 am
I'm going back to work at a local Five Guys after several years, and I'm really excited. I've been in the restaurant business a long time, but I am proud of every burger at Five Guys, and our guests seem to agree.
I was very disappointed after trying Five Guys yesterday- the cheese, put so much liquid into the sandwich that the bun got wrecked right away- they need bigeer buns that don't fall apart right away.
Back in 2006 one of my friends from high school used to work there. They got the best burgers I've tried so far. And their fries are awesome and always fresh
I won't lie Five Guys is the best burger chain I've ever had. I've had many different burgers but this chain is actually one of the few things that make me feel that the extra money I am pouring into for fast food is worth it. Yes it's expensive but from my overall experience, it has always been worth it. The burgers, fries, and shakes keep me coming every Friday after work.
I can't imagine how you can think a grease burger and sog fries "is the best burger chain I've ever had." I think you meant to say, "this is the best burger and fries meal I've ever had at a burger chain restaurant." This is the worst stuff any corporation can hoist on American consumers. Disgusting.
I've been to McD's before and the one lady I've noticed she wanted toppings like five guys but every little thing she wanted on there was added about 50 cents more Five Guys it's already included with the price so whether you want everything on the toppings or not you're going to get the full price or not. They're fries are the bomb no matter what shows on the bag I bought a large fries and they still threw in extras I love them so much
@@originalfiremancancelled7303 I would assume better than McD or BK, tho I've never worked at either. I work at a franchise Five Guys, which is also super different from corporate stores. All in all, from all the people I work with they seem to like it. Usually a chill atmosphere and you are allowed 1 free meal every shift if you want it.
Another reason they are so good is that the company really cares about the quality of their product. Each location is mystery (sometimes called secret) shopped TWICE a week. I know this because I am a shopper and rate a few of my local 5 Guys a few times a month. The good thing about doing this is it's a free DELICIOUS meal. The bad thing is all the weight I've gained.
@@lilchristuten7568 What I meant was a traditional table service restaurant where one is seated, places orders and is served by a wait staff. If you think that the price of five guys is "compatibly the same" to such an establishment you a) can't afford to eat at a place that charges more than $20 for a burger (and it's often worth it because they have custom blends of beef in house that they ground daily) and b) have a poor command of the English language. I can only wish you well and hope that you have the opportunity to experience the next level of culinary excellence. As well as, you know, learning English.
I love 5 guys, the first time I went I was like "how did they make this so fast and so good??" Also the cajun fries hit the spot when I'm in the mood for something spicy.
Five guys food isn't expensive. It's just that quality, fresh ingredients cost more. Plus everything is huggeeee in there. Burgers, fries, free peanuts everything!
So far the best burger I ever had is a Five Guy's burger. They don't freeze any of their beef and everything is cooked to order. Everything is freshly made. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Delicious!
I ordered Five Guys last week via Door Dash. I had a large fries, my wife got the small. Both cups were full to overflowing with the bag filled with more. It was like getting 3 large fries.
The reason they only do their patties well done is because ground beef isn’t supposed to be cooked or grilled medium rare, rare, etc. It’s only supposed to be cooked well done because of the cut of meat.
There is a place in Lincoln City, Oregon with the best burgers on the Oregon Coast and quite possibly the best in Oregon. Its called Hwy 101 Burgers. They serve burgers, fries, milkshakes, and soft drinks. The burgers are made from fresh meat, the fries are cut daily from fresh potatoes. The burgers are always juicy and the fries are always crispy. They serve a 101 cheeseburger that has one beef patty and one slice of cheese all the way up to a 404 burger. Which has 4 patties and 4 slices of cheese. Simply the best! Oh yes, the little dish of fry sauce has your name written on it with ketchup or maybe a peace symbol.
I always get the same thing at five guys. Mayo bbq sauté onions pickles lettuce jalapeños. Never forget to take those peanuts with you lol. I love dipping my fries in malt vinegar. I have the strange tastebuds 😆
The grilled cheese is for the children who don't need $7+ sandwich. You can also order toppings for the grilled cheese, have them inside the sandwich, or added on top, or on the side. It's a good grilled cheese, and with all those tons of toppings, it's a good adult sandwich, too... for under five bucks, in my area.
the Pac Mac Burger from La Belle et la Boeuf, a Quebec-based restaurant. the bun is made of mac ‘n cheese patties and contains smoked bacon, beef patties, cheddar cheese, mac ‘n cheese, grilled onions, red onion and mayonnaise. Unless you want me to talk about their Epic Burger: 4 5oz beef patties with lots of brie cheese, lots of smoked bacon, fried kit kats, melted peanurt butter with mushroom sauce and porto. And they give you a bottle of Pepto Bismol with the Epic Burger. I used to make a burger which included cheese sticks, 2 beef patties, fried onions, bacon, pickles, lettuce, tomato, spicy mayonnaise, Swiss cheese (but I'm not sure)
One just opened in my city, and naturally, I had high expectations. I gave them a try, and found the burgers to be fairly decent to good for a franchise, but there was absolutely nothing outstanding about them. Unfortunately, because of the price, I won't be going back very often.
Ive tried it to in New York. Its just that everyone is used to crappy burgers. Five guys is not that good. Go to a proper restaurant with a proper chef and you will get a massively delicious burger.
lived in Northern Virginia. for the longest time we had just one. Arlandria which is Alexandria and Arlington. People would fight DC traffic to get burgers. This was early 1970s . Then it started growing and more and more stores popped up. I live in the South and 5 guys are everywhere now. I'll still drive 20 miles and past every other burger joint to get a more expensive burger with a little. extra. personal service. My second choice is a local chain. called Pals. Fastest drive thru ever
I've been in one in London a few days ago and it was ok. The one in King's Cross was packed. But yeah, it's quite expensive and "very american". Loved the burgers and fries.
Yeah I've actually never seen one here in the north of England. Not bothered though cause I get my burgers and fries at a local Asian take-out and it's delicious! Juicy meat, a fluffy bun and perfectly done toppings with spicy ketchup and awesome seasoned fries! :) I did go to an American restaurant once and tried this monster sized burger, and it was too sweet and greasy for my liking
They are closing most of franchises in Fayetteville, NC. Only one left in town, I always thought that if they gave a economical combo price, it might be a treat every once in awhile for a family.
Too expensive, I make my own after experimenting my favorite burgers in my short 60 years of life,... my flavor target is a late 60s early 70s western burger from Doggy Diner in San Francisco. No, it had no bacon or onion ring or barbecue sauce on the burger. Absolutely awesome burger 🍔. I wonder if anyone out there remembers. I’ve never had another like it. Mine comes close because I try very hard to duplicate from my memory. I can’t say if I’ve achieved it, something about being there I suppose. I believe it cost $1.49. No shit!
TBH, five huge burgers will cost you 10-12 bucks just for the quality beef. I go with the Costco Grass-fed 1/3 pound patties at $4/lb, which is a bit less, but it's the best price I've ever seen. Typically, you'll pay at least 50% more, especially if you want fresh.
This is best burger place ever. There is one that is close by my work. I go there everyday for lunch and it’s so good. I don’t mind paying the extra money. When I go there they always know what I want.
One big problem... Ever throw a burger or steak on the grill without salt and pepper on it? Probably not, but they do. All the toppings are there just to make the flavorless pice of meat taste good.
In the U.K a large meal is about £15 which is way too pricey when you can buy a 6 fresh quarter pounders from the local supermarket for the same price.
Amazing burgers! I love them so much! Plus, I live in the Washington DC area, where they started out, so its cool to see a restaurant with a local start have such huge success!
Your video sounds like a Five Guys Burger commercial. I started cooking lessons at age seven. My first culinary mentor was a honors (cooking and baking) graduate of Le Cordon Bleu - Paris (France). I'm 77 years young. I've been making burgers for 65 years. I've also been making my buns from scratch for 65 years. There's a "Five Guys Burger" place in a strip mall shopping center that is within 5 minutes driving time from our house. We, the wife and I, have eaten there once -- we were not favorably impressed.
Likewise. Their burgers are average at best. There is a local place nearby me where they have a wood-fired grill. They blow Five Guys out of the water.
watagump1 that’s what you pay for when it’s a quality burger. Hell even a McDonalds Big Mac combo is about 11-$12 cdn now. Pay a few more bucks for better quality and don’t eat out so much.
Matt Hoffman let these people eat McDonald’s lol. I like McDs when I need a quick bite. I take time out of my day to go to 5 guys. I don’t care if it’s more expensive it’s BETTER than McDs. Lol people got me heated saying McDs the best here lmao..
8:45 we Dont have timers but we have something called ticket time which is a certain time we need to sell the order which is 5-8 mins of when we get the order to the kitchen
The BEST BURGER, FRIES, & SHAKES. I LOVE THEIR FOOD, ITS ALWAYS FRESH N WATCHING IT BEING MADE, IM CERTAIN IS FRESHER N CLEAN. THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY. WHEN IVE CHOSEN TO SIT N EAT INSIDE, ITS ALWAYS CLEAN N COMFORTABLE😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Okay... so... I felt the need to address this... 0:13 "Focusing on what's important": Okay, so they won some awards. Cool deal. It's true that having a smaller menu that puts focus on fewer things can do them with better quality, than a restaurant that has a menu of several pages. That's a good reason for burgers and fries tasting good. The only problem is: Why do these burgers cost nearly $8 in my state? (No sales tax) 1:35 "15 different toppings": And here is the reason why the burgers are so expensive. You are paying for all 15 toppings, even though you'll probably only choose a few of them. You still paid for the (insert topping here) that you chose not to get. Feel ripped off now? If for example, you ordered a Famous Star with cheese from Carls' Jr and ask for no onions and tomato on it, you would still pay the same price instead of getting it cheaper because you paid for the "option" to have those toppings... even though you don't want those options. It's a crummy deal. Someone shouldn't have to pay for something they don't want.
Yep, the prices are ridiculous but so is the taste. And what would you rather have in the end? 3 or 4 quality burgers a year or McDonalds nonsense once a week?
@@jorenvanderark3567 i dont care for the price there charging i will go to store and make my own burgers better then theirs and fresher than theirs and it will be home made
I would have to disagree. I tried twice at two diff locations, they delivered twice the same burned smelling tasteless fries. Burnt browned fries arent my thing. ....and then the burger....fail
tbh, i ate five guys once, and i didnt think it was so good.. it was expensive and just plain deacent burger. This was in england tho, not sure if it makes a big difference from england to the us
@@kingzetsy how much did it cost you. I live in the north of England and I just stick to my local Asian take-out for the best burgers and fries I ever had. I typically get a spicy double chicken fillet burger with seasoned fries and it costs me £5 and it's delicious :) I've tried American burgers and they're too sweet and greasy
@@caramelcupcake1275 i think it was around 15 £ for the burger and then u had to pay extra for fries and stuff, dont quote me cuz this is a long time ago and i camt remember exactly
