Whether you eat them in sauce, soup, stir-fried, or baked, noodles vary from country to country. In this episode, Lisa Nguyen, a Vietnamese food influencer, will try a quintessential Peruvian noodle dish. And then Rodrigo De Oyague, who was born and raised in Peru, will taste new ingredients for the first time as he tackles Lisa’s Vietnamese noodle dish.

I just made the Peruvian dish with some chicken for dinner haven't gotten my husband's opinion on it yet but I think it's pretty tasty. 😊 Update: My husband loved it. The sauce is mild I added a pinch of salt myself. We paired it with some chicken. We have a toddler whom is very difficult to get to eat and even he devoured it. I'll definitely be making the sauce again for his veggie pasta. Also I added not just spinach but also chard to the sauce I feel like as long as the greens go together you can definitely add an arrange of greens to it to sneak in more veggies and nutriention. 😊

Noodle kugel...definitely a favorite. There are different kinds. I grew up with a sweet caramelized sugar and peppery "yerushalmi" style kugel, on certain holidays we made a cheesy kugel topped with apricot jam and a walnut paste that gets almost a cake like texture but kind of crisps up on top. We also made a savory noodle kugel with spinach and garlic and herbs. Noodles are so flexible and, due to their inexpensive price point, can extend other more pricey ingredients and serve a large family for less.

More of these please! Also loved the candor of cooking captured in the cut. Sometimes the smoke alarm goes off. Sometimes, you learn the hard way to get as much water out of the tofu before attempting to fry. The peril is real.

My husband grew up with Vietnamese food at home, since that's where his parents grew up. When we eat out at our fave local Vietnamese place, his favorite is bun bo nuong (beef & noodles). It would have been rad if that was the recipe Lisa had shared here. Anyone would enjoy it.

Mmm that pesto pasta looks so good! My favourite pasta is any pasta (i like fusilli) fresh green pesto, toasted flaked almonds, halved cherry tomatoes heated in the pan you toast your almonds in just to take the chill out of them, and mozzarella pearls. It is so insanely delicious for how simple it is. So summery. And you can blitz a load of spinach into your pesto for extra nutrients.

My favorite noodle dish is chicken tetrazzini. It’s definitely not Scandinavian, but it’s popular in my family because it’s made with sour cream which is very on point with the food I grew up with. The fact that is “one-dish” is very in style with all of the casseroles, or “hot dish”, that I’m used to having as a meal.

For whoever made the comment off-camera: please don’t put oil in pasta water. It doesn’t actually do anything. All you need is water, salt, and dry pasta. If you stir the pasta frequently when you start cooking it, it won’t stick together. I usually stir until the pasta loosens up and starts getting soft, around 3-5 minutes, depending on cooking time on the package.
@nothing7666
@nothing7666 Год назад
Also if you don't want them to stick you can also after you strain the pasta put it back in the put and mix it until most of the water on them evaporates and then you coat them with a bit of oil mix it a bit more and then you are free to store them it takes just few seconds

The directions on a lot of Asian noodle bags are notoriously wrong! This is coming from an Asian guy! When I make stir fried rice noodles, I hydrate only half way. Hotter the water the faster it goes and vv. When u stir fry u add noodles and the sauce and some water on top to absorb the liquid to become perfectly al dente. If ur noodles are still too hard add more of the sauce and water combo.
