Let’s talk about triggers. First, being triggered sucks, period. Common advice might be to avoid triggers, but unless we’re to become hermits, this is not an effective solution. In this episode, we discuss the root cause of our triggers. In the process, we also uncover the natural solution within a process we call Trauma Triggered Therapy.

First time I learn and agree that healthy environments can trigger you. Self sabotage is a trigger. I like your practical approach. Keep up!!

Oh my god that last bit hit home. I suffer from imposter syndrome and as a military officer I get challenged on my decisions, rightly so, but I am wearing so many labels, black, female, etc in a predominantly white male section and with my history of not feeling good enough makes some days difficult to navigate.

I can't believe it took me so long to actually listen to your podcast!! This is soooo good. It reminds me of Brooke Castillo's coaching Model, but the language is very slightly different. I completely agree about triggers. I think the idea that triggers are how you know what to work on, was the missing piece I needed for the model to click.

Second video. I learned that I have too high expectations of my partner. I’m taking the power back and I’m grateful for the awareness of my trigger.

That doesn’t make sense! Triggers come out of NO WHERE. As a partner it is incredibly distressing to have a person run away & never talk like that never happened. And the partner is confused scratching her head thinking what just happened why did that person run away and get mad at me about something that wasn’t existent for example, a partner gives you a look, and the other person freaks out says I am leaving the runs away, it’s a trauma response and it’s not a persons fault who was misinterpreted by the partner not to mention, is hurtful and annoying, and puts the partner in the position of having to apologize even though they didn’t know what was wrong.. so it’s a symptom of someone that has trauma and they should work on it. Is that what you’re trying to portray in this podcast?

Solid recommendations but gym example with back pain is not a good one. 😕 You can't "work out" a herniated disc or spinal compression fracture. Maybe find a better analogy next time.
