Absolutely this. Tesla glass is already hard to align properly after removal, you definitely don't want to make that even harder or impossible by getting the wrong cut line! They need to be as symmetrical as possible.
At first this looked like a janky build but I've been following along and I was way too quick to judge. Looking mean man, you're doing a great job! Can't wait to see the finished product.
A huge congratulations for getting this far in the build its looking amazing. I love the fog lights really cool. I can't wait for you to enjoy this beast.
I found out the tip about getting the high position windows when I did my video about replacing the puddle lamps. Glad you found it! Looking SOOO sick!
I had all most thought you had given up on this ! But Ma man came back SUPER STRONG looks amazing!!! This car should be satin black and some extra shinny black on the trim and super white seats
The rear glass looks great, but you should add some sort of drain port so water doesn't pool. Also, can you just modify to turn the bulbs/projector 90 degrees inside the fog light housing?
Just incredible… Regarding the door glass-have you checked with a hot glass studio to see if the can make it? They would create a mold and form it to the curvature you need. Just not sure how perfect they can get it.
Use the busted one for them to practice on I know there’s not much left of it but still, at least you’ll know if it doesn’t break it anymore than you’re probably good to go
I know you just primed but you need to add some seams to the rear. Those sharp coroners and flat decks covered in bondo will flex. The bondo will eventually crack and ruin the paint.
that is not your only option... you make the glass template out of the same thinkness aluiminum... then you can bend it to the proper shape as well as cut the correct shape.... then you can send you aluminum template in to have a mold made and then they make the glass... this process has been done for years....
What about taking a diamond glass blade and put it on the angle grinder and cut the glass with that had a little bit extra so you can use sandpaper and smooth the edge
The windows are laminated glass so if yu go to a class company and talk to them they have the right cutters that will cut it down and heat the lami between the glass and then cut it that should work
