@@chuckgamble5696 They dont have to go out of their way to do it. Teams have a video crew to compile plays for review by the coaches to discuss with the players what to do going forward. They likely have a whole spreadsheet with questionable calls categorized.

You don't know anything about basketball, because wolves are allowed to play aggressively and they are allowed to do everything, but because nuggets it's not allowed, and if they play more aggressively then there's a whistle, that's no longer NBA for me, the refs are manipulating the game and you can't win like that!!! The same thing happened to the Pacers in the first game at the Knicks, the refs want the Knicks and Tinberwolves to advance, everyone can see that!!!

I'm a Pacers fan and this is a bit embarrassing. There was definitely some bad calls in game 1, but the game 2 loss is solely on Rick. He did not have the right lineups in to win the game, and this is the same thought most Pacers fans have.

The issue is consistency. Refs are necessary to the game, but it’s when the refs are inconsistent with their calls, which is causing the issues. If they said that they’ll be more strict on certain calls in the regular season and more on certain calls in the postseason then that can make sense. Until they do that, it will always confusion and resentment.😊

The Knicks star player was out for almost a quarter and a half in the first half of the game and then their best defender was out the final quarter and half. The Knicks didn't have their #2 option in Randle, their top rim protector in Robinson, or one of their top bench scorers in Bogdanovic. But THE REFS are why y'all lost??

@@mattsheets8028 I'm not buying that. There are missed calls on both sides but coaches only complain when their team loses. The 2 minute report for Game 1 noted 2 missed calls on Indiana as well as the missed call on New York and incorrect kick ball violation. They had all those things in their favor plus the lead and blew it.

@@no0bbbb Knicks lost a game in Philly on what should’ve been a travel call on Maxey but instead it turned into a 4 point play. Had they gotten that call, they probably would’ve won that game. Most Knicks fans did not cry about it. The team didn’t file any grievances. They kept it moving. Carlisle had a lead and a depleted Knicks team but he couldn’t close it out, Haliburton vanished in the 2nd half. That’s the story. When the Knicks won a game in Philly, the refs helped them too? Every time the Knicks win, it’s because of the refs? FOH. There definitely is a bias but it’s against the Knicks and Jalen especially.

I’m so tired of ESPN pushing bs narrative about this game. As an official myself you don’t make a violation call if you have an inverted whistle. The official gave the violation single and gave the Double Dribble sign after. If you blew your whistle by accident own it from the moment it happened. I can’t stand Jay Williams. He played great ball before he messed up his life by riding a motorcycle.

The worst non-calls I've ever seen were in Minnesota-Dallas game 2. KAT's charge and then super-obvious illegal dribble after he picked up the ball and made a shot attempt where the opponent just BARELY grazed the ball (not even close to a loss of control). This is ridiculous.

Jamal Murray is just like Klay Thompson. They happen to be on the same team with the generational talents like Jokic and Curry. And you can clearly see both Murray and Thompson are completely mistaken that they are ‘the guy’. Jamal without Jokic to run around his screen to create space is just a decent guard. Talent wise, he’s not even top 10 guards in the league in my opinion. Same goes with Klay, without Steph causing mayhem to defenders, he’s just a good shooter and solid defender. That is all. He can’t dribble, average rim finisher, ok rebounder, and below average passer. And you know what Klay and Jamal have in common? Their ego got in their heads.

100%. It’s frustrating when the modern NBA has placed such an importance on foul management and drawing fouls to put teams into a tough rotation early. Doing that can completely swing a game early which is hard to dig yourself out of. Once fouls actually started getting called the Nuggets came back a little but it was too late. Their game plan was pretty much ruined at that point. Basketball was tough and entertaining back in the 80s/90s but it’s 2024 and the game is just different now. I see why the entire Nuggets team was so frustrated with the officiating all night. Also, I’d reason most people in the comments were probably never athletes and those in-game emotions hit different when you’re getting everything called against you. Not saying the reaction from Jamal and the team was right, but it’s understandable tbh.

I'm a Pacer fan, but totally agree with JW. I coach 8th grade and the Pacers defense alignment/technique was disgusting. Elementary bad. They need to leave Turner down low and stop the trapping scramble crap. Knicks are a good passing team with smart players. Kudos to Knicks, officiating has been bad, but not the reason Pacers are down 0-2.

Pacers actions dictate towards being treated fairly, however by sending 78 play reviews to the league suggests that they DO want preferential treatment as well. When you're playing on the road, do not expect calls. Play better, execute smartly and give effort to win the game.

Funny how we complain that we don't want the refs to call everything and let them play, and then when they don't we complain about them missing calls. Personally, I LOVE the way they have officiated the playoffs. We get to watch a basketball game and not 60 free throws per team

Sorry, you can't compare Minnesota v. Denver and Oklahoma City v. Dallas to Indiana v. NEW YORK. The local city or metro population of New York is roughly three times the size of Dallas, which is the next biggest city remaining in the playoffs. Beyond that, the Knicks have a massive fan base all over the country. From a ratings/revenue standpoint, the NBA would much rather New York move on than Indiana. I'm not saying it's rigged, but the way they dismiss the big market v. small market off the top by comparing it to the series in the West is ridiculous.

people don’t wanna acknowledge the fact that the Pacers literally can not defend without fouling. They can not get a rebound without fouling. The times they get “screwed” on officiating literally happen because the refs feel bad for not calling a whistle on every play. I watched every second of both games and the amount of times i saw Knicks players get tripped, clipped, and pushed was unbelievable. Those never get called and the only reason the Pacers aren’t as horrible defensively as they usually are is because it’s the playoffs so they’re able to get away with fouling on every play.. stop crying it’s not “small market” bias- tell that to OKC and MIN

It's not just that Minnesota is hungry. Their defense is really REALLY good, an exception in a league where majority of team don't defend/ they suck at defending. It 's really a learning curve for the Nuggets cause they have a pace and strategy they are accustomed to and suddenly it doesn't work.
