Apparently for the immediate victims of the Chernobyl disaster like the fire fighters who died they had some sort of steel coffins and also their graves were also covered over with cement to stop any contamination from the radiation that they were exposed to and ultimately died from.

What is the significance of having Ia zinc lined container or casket? What does the zinc do?
@martinemikita9281
@martinemikita9281 3 года назад
Zinc lined casket is used primarily for preservation of the body either for transport or for being placed above ground in a crypt. Zinc also prevents odour and potential toxins from leaving the coffin... this is especially important for air travel when the body may not be buried for a longer period of time.

I just watched a documentary on TV about an elderly Australian lady who went to Switzerland to die by Euthanasia and her family got her cremated in Switzerland and then just bought most of her ashes back with them. She went to Switzerland as Euthanasia is legal over there if you get approved by one of the specific clinics over there. It was her choice as she wanted to die with dignity. It was a very interesting documentary on Legal Euthanasia. Life should be someone's personal choice and you shouldn't have to go half way across the World to be able to have that choice either. The family had to have the passport etc... checked by the Swiss Police at the time of death and all of the appropriate paperwork etc... and she was asked about what she wanted to be done with her body afterwards. As two members of her immediate family had gone over to Switzerland also they had her body cremated and scattered some of her ashes in the Rhine River I think it was and bought the rest of the ashes home to Australia with them and then had keepsakes made and scattered the rest in a River in Australia. The crematorium looked very different in Switzerland and they watched the coffin go in. With 3 furnaces next to each other they looked a little bit more like a huge pizza oven. Anyways it was a very interesting documentary about someone choosing Euthanasia and a quiet death overseas instead of getting older and maybe suffering in their older age.

Heck, it's even expensive if a Case has to be shipped via air freight from one State to another within the USA but not as bad as dying overseas. The cheapest way to get the remains moved from point A to Point B is to have them cremated first, unfortunately. But if you have the money it's no problem.

They already had a viewing for the Deceased down there and now, they had a 1 day viewing and funeral for her up here. I noticed the corpses palor looked White and chalky.. like they never heard of Lifelike tints in the Southland.
