Still i am not clear that once the air leaves while filling the submarine with water and it sinks then how this air is brought back to empty the water for floating on surface. And let us know that air is also required for combustion of fuel in engine, breathing, cooking etc. How does the staff in submarine manage this?

There's got to be a limit to how many times it can pump the compressed air in the tank right? What if the sub sinks and this pump mechanism fails?

Submarines normally have emergency external ballast tanks that can be filled rapidly. They are normally used to resurface in an emergency, so they can be used if the pumps in the main ballast tank fails. There is also a manouver where they point their nose up, put engine thrust to the max and pump air in the emergency tank to shoot themselves up. Redundant systems are everywhere on these things. They can't risk losing billions of dollars in expensive submarines because they failed a simple task.

You should explain WHY compressed air looses it's power in order to keep the sub afloat!!
