Hows the drone? Mine at cruise had a horrible drone. Had to add 2 Vibrant resonators to chill out my 15 Golf R manual with Switchpath exhaust and APR down pipe. No drone due to no exhaust pipes under the cabin then? Nice
There is literally zero drone. On the highway in 8th gear I can't even tell this car has an exhaust on it. It's the same way on my C7 ZR1. I don't know how they do it but it works very well with the Corvettes, at least.
So if I understand correctly, as with the other offerings out there with exception to MagnaFlow, this exhaust also disables the valves so there is no more exhaust note change from Tour, Sport/Track or Weather modes...... I refuse to loose what the car came with.
If that's a really big deal for you then no you would not want this exhaust. I'll tell you this much though, I thought the same thing originally until I realized I was never using those baffles anyway. That along with the drone canceling offering from AWE I never find a reason to need those baffles.
LOVE the way it sounds on the C8 and the fit and finish is the best in the business imho. I love my AWE EXHAUST on my 17 ZL1. It never gets old and always brings a smile to my face!! Enjoy!!!!!!!
You should get the exhaust plumbing anodized. That way you can see it through the rear mesh or replace the mesh entirely after the process. Is there a way to keep the exhaust switch with the new system?
I thought about leaving the mesh off but I think it creates too much of an "aftermarket" look. I'm always trying to achieve that level of "stock+" meaning it still has a stock look but it's just slightly better/nicer. There's no sound baffle option for this exhaust.
Yup. It's in the description. You can also go here: www.awe-tuning.com/make/corvette/chevrolet-c8-corvette-exhaust-suite?CorvettForum&PreOrdThreadRef&C8Corvette&PreOrdRef&PreOrdRef
Now that I've had my C8 for a few months, I'm starting to shop around for exhausts. The AWE is on my short list, largely because of your videos and feedback. Question, though....Have you had any issue with heat management? AWE mentions they have aluminum heat shielding included, but wanted your input on any issues you've encountered. Thanks.
It's hands down the best sounding exhaust I've heard on the C8 and I've heard almost all of them. No heat issues at all, that heat shielding in the back is probably overkill because the stock one didn't have anything like that and it sat much closer to the bumper.
No check engine light? Just got a system installed light came on, AWE says must be bad set of simulators sending another. Starting in mid March they changed things up a bit getting rid of the harness for four plug in simulators, hopefully new set will work
If I were in PA I’d be torching this place not serious but beyond disappointed with AWE wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. For the third day in a row they’ve promised to overnight new simulators for their touring system in my C8, no such delivery again today with ZERO communication from awe, seriously. Very close to ripping out the system sending it back by horse and buggy and demanding an immediate refund. Hacks
@@HorsePowerObsessed Tuesday apologized for the delay haven’t called or answered their phone since. Reputation shot in my mind. Vengeance racing google of unfamiliar has had my car for 7 days they recommend awe not any more
That sounds much better than stock, imo. And, at least on video, more like the ZR1. And the exhaust tips are now the proper shape as well. I may have to get the AWE cat back for the ZR1 if for no other reason that I will no longer have to clean the outboard exhaust tips as often.
Lol I agree! I only promote the best of the best. If I didn't love this exhaust so much it wouldn't be on either one of my cars let alone both of them!
Justin, did you see AWE used one of your quotes on their exhaust commercial? Pretty cool. I haven’t seen you mention it, anywhere. But maybe I missed you commenting on it? 🤷🏻♂️
HorsePower Obsessed that’s what I figured. I just saw it quoted. I didn’t see you say it. Still very cool. I’ve seen a lot of those exhausts installed, already, and to be quoted, is definitely cool. Makes you feel like your content is really being seen. 👌👌👌
The AWE sounds awesome. Love the pop on the down shifts. I live in California, but worked for PPG Industries, now retired. I have experienced the heat and humidity back there when traveling to Pitt and working at One PPG Place. Not a fun thing for us Cali people. We don't get that kind of weather here. Nor Cal this week will be in the 100 plus but no humidity. Really like your videos. Keep them coming. Thanks
Thank you. Believe it or not it sounds even better in person. The humidity is real here right now so when we get a chance to run with the windows down we do it! 🤣🤣
After hearing it at Carlisle I'm gonna get an AWE system. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me. On a different note we where talking about the Victor wing, I noticed C7 carbon is making a "race wing". It looks less ricer and has an OEM mount instead of bolting on the deck lid. Let me know your thoughts if possible. Thanks again and keep up the professionalism!!!
You are quite welcome thank you for taking the time to talk to ME! I appreciate all of the conversations I had this weekend. I will check out that wing and see what I think of it.
It would be good to hear some fly-bys from the outside at wide open throttle and normal acceleration as well as launches from in front and behind to get a better sense of the sound.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Ok, thank you for the heads up. A friend of mine had his C8 for 3 weeks and sold it for ridiculous money. His is offering me a bro deal on his fab speed super sport cat back exhaust with the carbon fiber tips. But it doesn't have the valves either. It seems like none of the aftermarket exhaust systems keep the valves. I don't want to hear Track car all day in my daily driver.
@@HorsePowerObsessed I really like the sound of the AWE exhaust. But those Fabspeed Carbon fiber tips sold me. There was nothing I could do. I had to have them. lol
They literally have a dyno in house to measure gains. You can check out their site here showing the dyno runs. www.awe-tuning.com/make/corvette/chevrolet-c8-corvette-exhaust-suite?CorvettForum&PreOrdThreadRef&C8Corvette&PreOrdRef&PreOrdRef
Dude would you get serious and put out some C8 content? we need owner reviews now dam it... You have no idea what it's like out here I just watched a C8 review from a guy who had 200 miles behind the wheel and hes got an opinion? Lol come on man
@@chuckwebb2565 how did they cheapen it other then being able to get the same performance and soon better for almost half the price? Being that there sold out through 2021 I'd say they did ok..lol
