Not even in his country is age of consent 18 - it's only true in 12 out of the USA's 50 states. It's 17 in 7 states and 16 in the remaining 31.

In germany if a 20 year old sleeps with a 15 year old, that would technically be legal. But the 20 year old could be sued by the parents, because the consent of a 15y old doesn't fully count. So 14 being the age of consent doesn't mean adults are allowed to sleep with minors, just that minors that are at least 14 years old are allowed to sleep with each other. If a 14 and 12 year old sleep with each other, it's technically a crime.

It's that way since the 19th century, when laws about sexuality were implemented into law to replace Canonical law (where the minimum marriage = age when a woman was allowed to have sex was 12). And they just went with the common minimum marriage age of that time, which was between 13 and 15 for girls. Later they raised the age of marriage to around 16-18, but never raised the AOCs, as before the 1960s Sex outside of marriage was illegal in most countries. Countries like the USA have higher AOCs only since the 20th century, when politicians and moralheads started to have the opinion to treat anybody under 18 like a child.

​@@acmenipponair and IIRC AoC in some cases don't fully reflect what age can have relationship with what age, since there could be other restrictions in place that restricts such relationship between a full adult and an above AoC but below 18-20 person. Chasing a number is kind of meaningless here without reading the whole thing.

@@acmenipponair I don't know about the others so I'm not gonna comment on them. As for Japan though, the effective age of consent is minimum 16 If not 18 because the prefectures are able to set there own age of consent laws, so while the federal may be 13 that's not the effective age of consent.

I just don't understand how some hypocrites can look at themselves in the mirror. The guy was proactively going after people for getting with young girls when he himself was with someone much younger than that. Granted, the age gap was smaller, but small differences make a much bigger difference when you're that young and still growing and developing. I have quite an open mind with these "grey area" relationships, but I would never actively _condone_ them, nor would I pursue one myself. I just hope people who find themselves circumstantially caught up in them are honest - with themselves and each other. Since the potential for deeper and lasting harm is greater when people are still growing and forming their identities. Besides, having desires doesn't necessitate acting on them, and depending on what they are, you have a moral responsibility _not_ to act on them. I don't shout from the rooftops about things I don't want others to know about, but I think many people have some kinds of impulses they wouldn't necessarily be proud of, it's part of the human condition. That doesn't make me a hypocrite about it either. In fact I think pure repression and not being honest with yourself is worse, because you risk rationalising things to yourself or having them leak out in ways you're not conscious of.

One mistake: two 13 year olds in Germany cannot get into trouble, because 14 is the minimum age for getting any kind of state penalty. Remember the two 12 year olds who murdered a classmate? They will not be send to court, they are too young. A 14 year old dating a 13 year old could get the 14 year old in trouble. but normally the DA then says that going after the 14 year old would bring more damage to him and his 13 year old girlfriend than having consentual sex would have done. But well, better don't tell Rev the next can of worms in Europe: in France, Belgium or Italy it's legally allowed to date your sister or mother when you and her are adults...

He was literally offering to the Old Kai Bulma’s nudes 😅 The rest is simply the effects of Goku never going to school or having a normal education. He’s just ignorant.
