Yeah, they could probably find another way to pay for roads, but at the same time, cheating is wrong, partially because like they said, other drivers just have to pay more, and that’s not fair.
It’s not TX, it’s everywhere. Tolls were supposed to be temporary “for construction”. Once they’re complete, the government would now say: *Now that we completed the bridge, we decided to keep tolls for maintenance.* But that’s complete bullshit, the money goes to their pockets. Not for construction. The highway I take had too many potholes left unresolved since the late 2000s.

The tolls are a scam. In Florida my main toll road I take was supposed to be a regular road after it’s fees paid for the road construction. We’re still paying years after and it’s still a scam. You buy your main tag and the second it goes three dollars minimum balance both Sunpass and Epass and E-PASS send you bills.
It gets worse, you can't cross borders without your covid papers... nothing free there! But tolls are just fine, don't want to pay, don't use the road.

But if you travel on your own car, motorcycle, boat, yacht, etc., you must NOT be charged any additional tolls on the public roads, bridges tunnels and spaces!!

I just do what I can to avoid toll roads if at all possible. The Florida Turnpike alone has become so expensive to travel on, it seems like it's costing more than gassing up.

Ok, so you can't do simple math. Here's another simpler question. Is it alright to steal and cheat? Tolls suck, I get it. So do taxes... but it's how our system works and that system will fail without your dollars.

@@ivanvalentin3898 I want to agree with you, but I live next to one of the most expensive toll routes, they charge $1 per mile. I have the choice to take it or leave it. The system doesn't work because we don't know the system, it's already broken, even before "they" invent new ways to reach our pocket books. I'm not agreeing with the system, but I'm not going to break the law by not paying tolls or taxes.
I say screw the tolls, do what ever it takes. Gasoline tax is already good enough to fix the roads in a lot of western states. There's no function or need for tolls other than to screw people over.

Tolls shouldn't be legal, all states have highway funds and those funds are to build and maintain highways. Tolls came as a result of states wasting and mismanaging those highway funds. Tolls became a way to double tax citizens for the same reason. Not only that, tolls seem to never go away and why is that, because they create a continual revenue stream for the state and third party companies running them. Those companies make sure to contribute to the campaign funds of the very politicians that keep them in business long past when the roads and bridges have been paid off. Lastly, tolls have become a permanent control method to keep the poor out and to restrict movement of citizens. Tolls are used to force people into using other public services to keep those agencies running. Tolls are used to invade the privacy of citizens with cameras. The cameras don't just take your license plate information, they take pictures of the driver and passenger so they can keep track of you in the name of "safety". Those third party toll companies aggregate your photo with the license plate information and mailing addresses linked to the license plate and sell it to other parties for more revenue.
Where's the consumer side of the story where it's nearly impossible to dispute charges. Long wait times on the phone, they don't answer, or the line is busy.
Toll collectors get paid a salary, benefits & a pension! Now, that they are being essentially eliminated, where did all of those millions of dollars of savings go?" Lee County in Florida makes it impossible for visitors to pay tolls because there are no attendants at the toll stations. You have to go through the toll without paying. I was sent a letter from the county saying I skipped paying tolls and added late fees to my bill. I always pay tolls when I can, but you cannot in Lee County unless you have a transponder, which is silly if you do not live there.

The toll is it's own cheat my truck was in a shop in granbury getting lowered an 3 more toll an express charges showed up on my account ,I called an they said well someone must of used ur truck. My truck didnt have wheels or axles for 5 days while it was lowered .I live in granbury an work in Lewisville so I take tolls twice a day I figured I spent 8$ a day so I paid $30a week an watched my toll app then I got a bill for $240 in the mail so something is goin on
That happened to me when I went to swap my plate onto a new vehicle and they told me I had toll violations when I wasn’t even in the country in those months..

Is it bad I don’t feel bad not my state but we have tolls as well . Pay the tole so we can waist the money and not fix the road . Personally I think more people should do this and it should spread to taxes . I fine with paying for services but when there a monopoly and the threat of force is used . I don’t feel bad. The speed pass system barely works normally so personally I can see people doing this to not deal with the bs .
Play pay the male the toll cost to the address of your registration but if you have a PO box or you have moved or you're away from your home for 6 months as I am how do you pay the toll then it's going to be months late with interest in a collection agency after you it's predatory collection. With play pay they don't tell you how much the total is anymore they just say don't worry about it we'll bill you😊
