What Dumbledore wrote in his bequest of the deluminator to Ron is “In hopes that he will think of me when he uses it.” This seems to support the idea of Ron taking the trio to Dumbledore’s grave to retrieve the wand and that the deluminator would transport them to Hogwarts even though no one can apparate into Hogwarts. Just food for thought...

Snape always meant to let Harry know but had to wait until Nagini was being protected. He asked Voldemort more than once to let him find the boy himself and bring him to Voldy to no avail. His relief at Harry finding him as he lay dying must have been deep. Along with the added comfort of looking into Lily’s eyes as he left.......

thegreenredeye Nice thinking on your part.. But I don't think the deluminator does any help in apparating cz we have seen many wizards apparating in the film series and none but only Albus had the deluminator.. Apparition is a wizard's personal skill, while deluminator is a device that you can take help of.. And both of 'em helps you travel.. So what's the difference ?? So here's my hypothesis.. Apparition only works if you know your destination exactly.. While duliminator works by teleporting you to the destination (that you didn't know of) of your deepest desire.. Like that of Ron.. He just wanted to get back to Hermione, but he didn't know where they were.. And that's the exact time the deluminator worked.. 😉✌️
@thegreenredeye
@thegreenredeye 6 лет назад
Soham Chakraborty I don't say that you need the Deluminator to apparate, but that if you need to be somewhere the Deluminator can help you get there. I just believe that you can't teleport with the Deluminator without having apparated on your own before.

I think she was a fantastic world builder, (you can tell she took loads of inspiration of the worlds greatest lore writer Tolkien) and part of being a great world builder in my opinion is putting in loads of detail while still leaving enough wiggle room for multitudes of interpretation. It’s doesn’t matter her intent, in fact she might have had non at all but rather the inspiration that you can spark in your audience. That’s the magic of well written literature and my guess as to why Harry Potter has been able to live on to vivaciously

It states in the books that Snape was supposed to tell Harry about everything after Dumbledore was dead per Dumbledore's request/order though... I feel like poor DD has gotten so much hate throughout the years for "raising him like a pig for slaughter", but in reality...Harry had to die no matter what for Voldemort to truly die. So DD knew all along that even though Harry must "die", what is the best way to ensure he'd be brought back (resurrection stone), AND know enough to want to do it by choice?? You build that bond/relationship between DD and Harry, and Harry learns about the hallows and the horcruxes so he can become a "master of death" and choose then to stay dead or come back. Made perfect sense to me the first time I read the series, and has annoyed me at how everyone hates on DD for it. lol

But Harry never had the stone at the time he was killed. He dropped it before facing Voldemort. It had nothing to do with him returning.
@MultiDiceman
@MultiDiceman 4 года назад
Well not exactly. The resurrections stone does not bring people back from the dead it simply lets you summon and converse with them. Secondly Harry did not come back because of he was the master of death, he was protected because his mother's love protection spell was still in effect as it lived on through Voldemort since he used his blood to form a new body, with the added bonus of voldemort's elder wand alliance being to Harry. However when Harry gave himself up to voldemort as sacrifice it also acted as the same lily protection for his friends which again prevented hard to them by voldemort. DD had the whole thing planned out. Im not sure when he spoke to Snape about Harry sacrifice but since he knew about Harry being a Horcroax during the Half Blood Prince it is obvious at this point he knew voldemort used Harry's blood to come back. The only thing he didnt plan out was the ownership of his wand as he wasn't expecting Malfoy to disarm him.

What if it WAS the Resurrection Stone that brought Harry back? Perhaps it's full power was realized because at the time he uses it, Harry is the master of death. a couple of mistakes. The reason why Snape didn't go to Harry in person is that Voldemort could read Harry's mind and that's the reason why Snape went to Harry with a Patronus. Also, Snape was supposed to tell Harry about him being a Horcrux, it's just that Voldemort thinks that Snape is the owner of the Elder Wand so he kills him.

He "guessed it" but he wasn't sure at all. He was pretty much hoping this would happen. And in any case, Dumbledore didn't know or couldn't confirm that Voldemort actually had horcrux till book 2. And it's not like he had much of a choice. Voldemort had to go down.

No! Snape could’ve sent word through the portrait of Phineas Nigellus. The whole point of telling Snape to tell Harry he needs to die is to wait until only Nagini is left. Meaning when all the other horcruxes are gone. Also, Harry only came back to life because he went to meet death willingly, and didn’t defend himself.

thats because this guy alaways purpusely forget to mention the elements in the book that would destroy his theories. his video here makes zero sense if you just read the book and have a little brain. but hes fun to watch bc he actually believes his theories make sense when they are just idiotics. Harry knew that he would ve to die bc Dumbledore told Snape everything, point blank. And Dumbledore also trusted Harry and the gang. Plus Dumbledore tought the mission would take years, even decades the time that Harry with much more knowledge figures out everything, bc he knows (and who ever read the book), Harry is a very smart and has that inner instinct in him that makes him very different. Even Dumbledore was impressed/in awe that Harry accomplished his mission so early and accepted his fate with so much grace and courage. thats why Dumbledore even says to Harry "you are better than me" , not in terms of powers, but as a human being (sorry i disgress so much lol)

Basically yeah dumbledore's plan relies on a lot of conveniences and things he could not possibly have foreseen. You could make an argument about destiny or you could say it is just one of the weaker aspects of the story. I think this fan theory is just excuse making for something that doesn't entirely work in the plot though. Tbh I'm not bothered by the plan being farfetched and I like to believe that Dumbledore even intended Harry to survive in the end.

Around 7:50 when you mentioned Dumbledore wanting Harry to get the Hallows there was one thing that came to mind ............. the Peverell Brothers were the first people to possess the Hallows. Harry is a direct descendant of Ignotus Peverell, the owner of the Invisibility Cloak. Tom Riddle a.k.a Lord Voldemort was a direct descendant of both Salazar Slytherin and Cadmus Peverell who was in possession of the Resurrection Stone which was embedded in the Gaunt family ring. Soooooooo, that makes Voldemort and Harry cousins, however distant that may be, and either one could possess the Deadly Hallows without any consequences. So, there.

Well, 1000 years back, pretty much everybody is an ancestor of everybody living today. Further more, it is made explicitly clear, many times throughout the books that all the pure blood families (witch both Gaunt and Potter were) are all inter married/ related. So by that logic any wizard with a hint of pure blood (and pretty much any muggelborn wizard) could poses all the hallows with no consequences. So, there.

Dumbledore didn’t have an explicit plan. He understood the wisdom of not controlling others for the greater good. Dumbledore’s plan was to invest in helping Harry develop the character and wisdom to fight the needed fight and make any sacrifice required. In raising children, you don’t plan their final battles, you raise them to know what to value, what matters and understand when a sacrifice is worth it.

As I watched this video, I realized something. The Elder Wand changes loyalty when their owner is killed, or, in Draco's case, when used the Expelliarmius spell on, therefore making it Harry's. But as I just said, it also changes loyalty when its current owner is killed, and Voldemort killed Harry, so shouldn't the Elder Wand be loyal to Voldemort, even for a few minutes? Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking "Voldemort killed the Horcrux inside Harry and he was able to go back" but that's exactly where it gets weird. Harry was _given the option_ to go back, so he must be at some limbo stage, which technically means he is dead, and I think that if a simple Expelliarmius spell is enough to make the Elder Wand change loyalty, something like what happened to Harry should *definitely* be enough as well. What do you guys think?

Watching this video again... I still agree that maybe what eventually happened may not have been the original plan. But I think it's still possible that what did happen was one of those plans. I mean, I think it very likely that Dumbledore covered several scenarios when setting things up. So, yes, Harry finding out the story through Snape could be one route, this theory can be another. That it is one of these two doesn't mean the other could never have been in place. Anyway, I may have mentioned it in another video, but maybe Dumbledore just expected Ron would want to check in on his family every now and then, and gave him a way to get back to Harry and Hermione, instead of knowing all along that Ron would desert them. Also, if this theory is correct, then it turns out Dumbledore has misjudged Ron. Because, I reread that part after they chose one each among the Hallows and Ron was pretty quick to reach the conclusion that they should concentrate on Horcruxes rather than Hallows. It was Harry that became obsessed with the Elder Wand. Also, Harry became obsessed with it for quite a while (weeks). During that time, Ron must have used the Deluminator several times. He does have a habit of playing with it. And not once did it give any sign of bringing them to the wand. I wonder if, if Harry had used it, would they have been transported to the wand...?

Oh hey. You guys may be the perfect person to ask!! I've had a debate amongst friends about polyjuice potion. So a scenario! Let's say there are two guys and a girl. It's a love triangle. The unrequited love wants to be with the woman.. so he brews polyjuice potion with essence of the other guy to have a night with her. (And not necessarily having to redrink any potion to keep the effect because depending on how well it's brewed, the effects could last 10 minutes or 12 hours.) Anyway. Said night results in a pregnancy. But.. who is the father?
@kerrychristensen7204
@kerrychristensen7204 6 лет назад
I seem to remember a King Arthur movie that began with a similar scene... O-O Logically, the bio dad SHOULD be the man that the sample came from to make the polyjuice potion. But then magic can get hand wavey like jazz hands.
@yuuri9064
@yuuri9064 6 лет назад
Probably the person being impersonated. When Harry used Polyjuice potion, everything (except his brain) changed about him. His voice, his body, his eyes. Harry didn't need glasses when he was in Goyle's form, either. This implies that all of the other person's body (other than the brain) would be replicated. Pottermore says that it can change a person's 'age, sex and race'. So the impersonator's body would change, including the inside. Any sperm in the body would be recreated also, so when he ejaculates, it would be the sperm of the guy being impersonated. TL;DR: The guy being impersonated is the father.

basically what this question asks is does polyjuice potion change the DNA in your sperm...which is a weird question but also very valid and I really don't know. Physical appearance has nothing to do with who the father is, it's all down to the genetic level stuff going on.
@victoriapyles7752
@victoriapyles7752 6 лет назад
Right! But also.. the effects DO eventually wear off. So.. does that mean that even if it DOES transform.. does the sperm transform back to the original guy? There was also the case of Barty Crouch Jrs. mother. She was never found out to not be him. So was she found and buried in such a timely manner that no one ever saw er transform back into herself.. (because I can't imagine a dementor out there digging graves) or was this somehow binding that she would forever reflect the image of her son? If death IS binding that she'll stay that way forever.. wouldn't pregnancy be just as binding?

But I believe there is a whole lot more beauty in Harry willingly and consciously choosing to sacrifice himself, versus Dumbledore setting him up to be unwittingly murdered (even if it's only temporary). That part doesn't sit right with me, and seems too much like betrayal. Also, in King's Cross, after Harry is killed, Dumbledore greets him and tells him how very brave he was - which isn't something you'd say to someone if you'd just basically duped them into being killed. I think it was important that Harry knew exactly what he was doing. How everything actually turned out might have been less "seat of the pants" seeming if Harry had been drawn to the Headmaster's office during the lull in the battle, and Dumbledore was awake in his portrait and said: "There is one more set of memories you need to see." And Snape would have already deposited his memories for safekeeping for Harry to find, sitting near the pensieve.

8:55 I'm confused. If either Harry or Voldemort dueled with different wands, there would be no golden flames, on either side. Because the golden flames were explicitly because they were dueling with *twin* wands. Harry won during the GoF duel, not because his flames were more powerful or anything, but because he had greater willpower pushing the flames, but the reason for the flames themselves was the twin cores. That was one of the reasons Voldemort wanted the Elder wand to begin with... to avoid the twin cores situation (well, that, and because it's an unbeatable wand).

Yes it's the only thing I don't understand...In this szenario when Harry came back from the dead to fight Voldemort, voldemort should have won because harry wasn't the master of the elder wand(in D. plan Snape was) So Voldemort would have won...but Harry wouldn't die anyway because of the love protection(again) they both would live on

i think you guys are not understanding the golden flames thing in which it was something that only occurred when Voldemort came for Harry during the 7 Harrys chase, for whatever reason while using Lucius Wand, Harry's wand seemed to react to Voldemort's presence and immediatly brought out expelliarmus blocking the killing curse as well as launching golden flames that shattered the wand Voldemort was using.

What if Dumbledore has actually wanted Harry to kill him self to destroy the horcrux? For instance in the story the brother who wanted the stone wanted to be with those he lost. The people Harry talked to when he used the stone all practically convinced him that death wasn’t all that bad. Death created the stone to take the life of the brother who had cheated him. So the stone was created to make someone want to go to the other side. So maybe Dumbledore thought that Harry would see all his lost loved ones and that they would convince him to come to them, destroying the Horcrux. This theory is way more sinister but if Dumbledore knew Harry would be able to go back It kind of makes sense. And I know what you’re thinking, Harry could only come back if he met death willingly by allowing Voldemort to kill him. But if Harry had done as the brother had done he would have been meeting death willingly. And the prophecy in a way points to this being possible. “Either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.” So if Harry were to destroy the horcrux (himself) instead then it would be impossible for him to truly die and Dumbledore would’ve known that.
@thebuddercweeper
@thebuddercweeper 6 лет назад
but you forget, the only thing that can destroy a horcrux is something that damages the host beyond magical repair, so if Harry had, say, slit his throat, the horcrux inside him would have healed the wound and the horcrux wouldn't have been destroyed.

Dumbledore might've wanted Harry to realize that he needed to die. I agree, in a way. I even think Dumbledore was counting on this realization. During his conversation with Snape, Dumbledore did say that Harry might've realized that a part of Voldemort's soul was within him and he (Harry) would therefore arrange matters so that when he (Harry) does die it would truly mean the end of voldemort. Or he might've been counting on Harry wanting to die. Because if he did realize that he had to die, he would have to tell the snitch he was about to die and I believe it would still reveal the resurrection stone anyway. It was Harry's willingness to die that opened the snitch. I guess Dumbledore would also hope that the moment would present itself. It wouldn't be that farfetched for Dumbledore to believe that Voldemort would want to kill Harry himself. Dumbledore knew voldemort had an obsessive need to kill the boy with his own hands. So when HP finally realizes he has to die of course LV would surely have to be the one. But I guess the back up plan was snape. If ever HP didn't realize that he needed to die Snape would tell him. Dumbledore was counting on Voldemort valuing Snape's life. There was more chances of him being alive compared to other Order People. He was most likely to survive until the end. Unfortunately, he got killed before finding harry. Fortunately, he was able to give harry his memories and such. Dumbledore's plan I believe is for him to descover everything on his own. But, well, he didn't so anyway. All is well that ends well.

@soonsims

I think if he just told him what to do rather than lead him to the answers which Harry ultimately finds himself, it would have risked the operation a whole lot more. For example, Voldemort can enter Harry's mind. If he would have known Harry is a horcrux or that the person disarming the elderly wand is the true master or that Snape is Dumbledore's agent, he would have had a much much better defence in place than what he ended up doing. Another thing, as mentioned in this video, if Harry had just received the deathly hallows not deservingly so to speak, before his time he might have ended up misusing them like many people before him. Dumbledore was far too smart to go for a shortcut and and a quick payoff because he knew it would be too dangerous.

soonsims first of all your first point doesn’t make sense at all. He couldn’t directly tell him those things but he could directly tell him about horcruxes? It’s all wrong - just like The Cursed Child. It’s exactly the message that how love wins against evil is with someone like Harry or Frodo who does NOT lust after such a powerful destructive artefact like the ring or the elder wand. He is NOT after it no matter how it might seemingly offer helpful power that you’d “only use for good and the get rid of it, cough cough”, and THAT is WHY he won! First of all, I agree that the actual way Harry learns of his fate was a bit convenient for the plot.. But I feel that your theory misses the most important reason Harry goes to Voldemort.. Alright, here's my rebuttal.. You missed the point of Harry dying because he was supposed to go to Voldemort and die at his hands WILLINGLY without fighting back.. by doing so he can destroy the part of Voldi in him and invoke the protection (similar to what his mother did to him) making Harry and those he loved stronger against Voldi... If your theory was true then Harry would have died because he lost the duel not because he wanted to die to protect everyone from Voldi and lead to his eventual demise..

“Hasn’t anyone read Hogwarts a history! No one can apparate or disapparate in Hogwarts!!!!” They had Dumbledore do this in the movie and it’s just not cannon. Also We know that the deluminator does not teleport but guides one when apparating as Ron specified when he used it. What if Dumbledore tried to create his own resurrection stone and that is in fact the deluminator? Only he was only able to make it “recall” the living. As in help you go to a soul instead of bringing one to you. I honestly believe this theory now, probably someone else has already thought of it but that would make a far better video, Dumbledore had to have multiple inventions! Dumbledore planned on the elder wand to stay in his grave and no longer have a master, he trusted snape would not know or maybe not want the elder wand was my assumption. But why didn’t he destroy the wand himself? Also as someone has said he gave Snape instructions to tell Harry the truth when Voldemort was most protective of Nagini, so when Harry was closest to having to die.

Oooooorrrrrr..... Dumbledoor was leading them to the elder wand so that Harry could get all 3 hallows, become the master of death, and with the knowledge of life and death that presumably comes with this, realise he had to die. He then chooses to sacrifice himself out of love for everyone else and through the power of sacrificial love everyone else is protected from Voldemort's power. Harry is still resurrected due to his blood in Voldemort and now, even if Voldemort cannot be defeated, he cannot win since he cannot harm anyone. I think this change to the theory fits sooo much better since it is so in Dumbledoor's character to care about protecting everyone and not just winning; plus it means the final act mirrors the very begging of the saga, with Lily/Harry sacrificing themselves for those they love, showing once and for all that love is the most powerful force there is, and is at the begging and end of everything...

@dansharp2860
@dansharp2860 6 лет назад
Dumbledore didn't want Malfoy to disarm him. All the events that take place after he and Harry get back to Hogsmead are out of Dumbledore's control and are nearly the ruination of the entire plan. Dumbledore intended to show Harry how to destroy Horcruxes that night and enact the plan for Snape to kill him at some other point in time (soon tho cause he didn't have a lot of time left). Snape wouldn't have been the master of the EW because he wouldn't have beaten Dumbledore in a true duel and the "power" of the EW would have been broken. Also if Grindelwald can can simply steal the EW and be it's master then surely Harry physically disarming Draco (instead of magically) should count.

floooooooooooooooood only way for the horcrux to be destroyed with Voldys killing curse is if Harry is unarmed, or else the Horcrux inside Harry would use the wand to defend itself. Since it is V’s horcrux, the magic it would use to defend itself would be extraordinary... then you have to factor in Harry being the master of the elder wand, and that extraordinary magic would be even more extraordinary.

@Yal_Rathol 6 лет назад
no. nagini and the locket both fight back and the diary unleashes the basilisk to protect itself, all that matters is that harry dies using some form of magic that will destroy a horcrux, such as avada kedavra. him willingly walking to his death unarmed is important because it casts the spell of protection on everyone on harry's side which makes the death eater's magic ineffective on them and lets the students curbstomp a bunch of adult wizards.
@Yal_Rathol
@Yal_Rathol 6 лет назад
Carlos Llanos the horcrux inside harry can't control his actions, it simply links his mind to voldemort's and entwines their powers. besides, if this plan went through, harry wouldn't be the master of the elder wand, snape would be, which means the elder wand wouldn't act like the weapon of mass destruction it is, it would have acted like a normal wand in harry's hands, a normal wand that won't protect harry from voldemort.
