A visit to Disneyland in Anaheim California to check out how busy the rest of the park is since the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge . Arrived on a weekday and stayed till noon .
Find me on Instagram - AdamTheWooATW Been watching the DL app last couple days and noticed some very low crowd levels and lines for most of the anaheim parks . I had to jump at the opportunity to see these 5 minute wait times myself . Yesterday’s video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mCXugYPaNx4.html
Oh you got on the fast side on the Matterhorn is it really bumpy my son like i set before I take him every November he's been on that ride and he's only nine he's trying to get me to go on that right I told him that side is faster than the other and bumpier and he will trick me so he can get me on any ride and I told him this time it will not work I told my son mommy has to have a few drinks to get on rides that have really big dips and that look like they're going to go off the edge lol and the three-year-old comes along and says what do you mean like coffee I told her something like that
Big Chungus lol it’s so much more affordable and worth it. I’ve been a Knott’s pass holder for 6 years now and I’ve definitely noticed there’s been a lot more people over the years. Now I know why 😆
Quiz time. The lack of attendance due to: a) A weekday b) Lack of interest c) Disdain for Disney politics d) The $140 Entrance Ticket e) All of the above.
@@andrewreegs6319 or... I remember the rides from Anaheim built in 1955 and they look exactly the same as in the newer park! I feel bad someone got a new park with old rides.
That's what makes Disney what it is now. Their rides are iconic and classics. Every generation of the family can experience riding the same rides. Some people would call the rides outdated but for me they are classic rides which paved the way for newer rides today.
Michael Richter this video was shot at 8 am on a weekday during a local resident season ticket holder blackout. Don’t let it fool you, Disneyland is packed to capacity everyday.
It was Soo stupid that they did this price Hike. You say you wanted to cut down on the Wait for Rides but I bet you didn't expect this. And then the News about the wages as well
Most middle class people can't afford to go there anymore especially after Disneyland raised ticket prices. That is because the middle class has far less disposable income than it did 20 or 30 years ago when the park was slammer jack packed with people going on all the rides and waiting up to 2 or 3 hours in line to ride rides like Space Mountain.
I dont think the middle class has less money, everyone i know has more money now than ever and we have kids. Its just that we DONT want go there! For the price of 3day pass, we can rent a cabin by a lake in utah for 6 people for 5 days.

@@mn1170 The only people that have seen any real cuts in their taxes are the top 1% most everybody else has found out when it came to file their income taxes this year that they owed a lot more money this year than years past. Oh yes and Disney should stop firing their American workers and replacing them with foreign guest H1b visa holders from mainly India.
It was €198 per adult for us for DL Paris and not much less for the kids... It's crazy. We'll never be able to go back. It cleaned us out for the year and took 2 years to save for because of flights and accommodation. 🤷♀️ We could have gone to Spain twice for the price of 3 day pass and a 5 day stay.... Yet we all give Disney our hard earned money 🙄
With that price forget it. If their streaming service is gonna be premium I won't be bothering to get it either. I'll watch later when they realise they need to compete.
@Jerome O'Mara well l live in Ireland so it was logical. We went to America to visit family in 2016 and that journey is so taxing on the kids. I wouldn't do WDW in America as the journey over would be tiring enough. Europe is easier for us. Plus the kids like different cultures and learning different languages when away.
Michelle Holloway Yes! Disney costs way too much.......outrageous as hell! Would love to go to the Magic Kingdom, but thier prices keep me away!😠😠😠😠 Disney should be freakin ASHAMED of themselves!!!
@@helixjc actually they have a lot of things to pay for. I'm currently at WDW are they I would like to tell you something. The very last day of Halloween (both WDW and DL) after the parks close and everyone is asleep, EVERYBODY immediately starts to deconstruct everything. They reuse the same decorations every year so they can't screw them up. They from 10/11:00 pm UNTIL 8/9:00 am the NEXT day (Nov. 1) to decorate EVERY park for Christmas. How you going to pay those people? What about the characters? Cast members? Disney will NEVER let something wear down. If it's fading, chipping, cracking, stops working, whatever it is, Disney works immediately to fix the problem with. Refurbishments take place to endure that everything looks brand new even if it's 30+ years old. How should you pay for those again? Oh, let's not forget about the amazing food, but don't worry they reuse what food doesn't get eaten into fuel to run buses, but how do you pay for it all? Let's not forget what the man who created it all. Walter Disney wanted one of many things for Disney, for it to NEVER be finished. Because as soon as you think you know what you're doing, they change it. Because it's business strategy that a lot of people don't understand. So next time you ask why is Disney expensive, remember that they employ more than 30,000 employees in just Disney World alone, and that there are Disneyland California, Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, and World. Plus Cruise lines as well.
@@MorganWideman I highly, highly doubt Disney does it all in one day. Six flags spends 3-4 months preparing for Christmas, putting lights on trees etc. No one notices the lights or other hidden in plain sight decorations until they are turned on. I can nearly guarantee Disney does something similar. Disney has a lot more money so they can afford to do the final swap in a few hours and likely have better storage where they can store the props nearby outside guests view.
My family went to Universal the week before the Harry Potter section was set to open. The place was dead like this. no lines and they had test runs of the Hogwarts and Hippogriff rides during the day. So we got to go on them anyway.
@@darkhorsedouglas4789 February and November are both the time of year when it gets very packed with people because the temperature is perfect outside.
I remember one night, after close, my dad’s company reserved Hollywood Studios for only an hour (but when nobody else is in the park it feels like forever). They had some big convention for his company in the Orlando area and the salesmen’s families could come to HS that night by themselves. It was a blast!
That's what it used to be like, late 90's early 00's at WDW during the slow times... it was... beautiful! Maybe DL has solved the over-crowded problem! :)
@@alanhowitzer LOL Flight of Passage is the best simulator right now and the least motion sickness inducing. If you can't handle that then you won't handle any screen rides at Disney or even Universal.
I think this really speaks to how many people were cramming into Disneyland for the last 5 years to see Star Wars stuff and now that it's open all those people are either over in SW Land or waiting to go in there. Which, as a DLR fan, makes me happy. I get my parks back once I can re-up my Annual Pass.
In all my years of living in So Cal, I have NEVER EVER seen the lines that short. Never. If you ever planned on going, NOW is the time! Adam! Hit me up! I'll go with you!
I think a lot of the video where it was totally empty was during the Magic Hour. Because, I was just there on Sun, Mon, and Tuesday. It was NOT that empty!
Not true, I was there Monday and it was empty, it was so empty they said that due to weather the fire work show was cancelled....the weather was perfect they just didn't want to spend the money.
They were a little too over aggressive with the blockouts and now it's actually brought the numbers so low that it looks bad. (I've heard they're actually making less money than they usually would this time of year )
@@rolfathan Correction this looks nothing like bad, If I could get away I would love to be in the park today! And I believe they are not losing any money. And the best would be if the just extended the deluxe pass blackout indefinitely. .
Here's a helpful hint from a cast remember if you want to enjoy the park with less crowded try late August going into September or February ,March and April, summertime is always the peak season and most definitely avoid going during any holidays, and sad to say you might want to steer clear of Friday , Saturdays and Sundays try going anywhere between Monday and Thursday if possible
Captain Ducky it should be cheap and for all family’s, I agree with what you are saying and it’s true.... I used to go all the time to Disney world, but now it’s so expensive it’s hard to wanna go every now and then.... the price range is just so High for everything and I think Disney’s making a Mistake.... should be affordable for everyone.
idk why people think its expensive. everything in California is expensive. You gotta have Cali money to live in Cali. Theres more people with money than those complaining about prices
@@eclipse_4747 *Japan's parks (sorry, I forgot that Disney Sea is considered a second park. Seriously one of the most beautiful amusement parks I've ever been to).
@@TanTan-hr7uq Everyone wants a luxury theme park experience with a low price tag. No one is entitled to go to Disney. It is possible to live a full life without ever setting foot on Disney property. But no. Prices are not affecting attendance. WDW has had the same increases and attendance continues to boom.
It's entirely unaffordable for the average Californian family! Even though Californians and locals get a discount off the yearly rates--the least of which is $600. A normal day pass for anyone is around $100 and that doesn't count the overpriced food and Made in Asia toys. No wonder Stay-cation has become the norm!

Went there in 2015 from Australia. Got on the finding nemo subs only to be told we were going on a journey to Australia. If only I knew it took a 5 minute sub to get to LA .
Wow. Brings back memories of when they were still trying to figure out guest attendance vs park hours at Disney. Gotta love the rare occasions when everything is nearly a walk-on. Thanks Adam and Jay.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Emily Licitra i’ve heard this before and i don’t understand. So the people with the yearly/monthly (forgive my ignorance) passes are blocked from visiting?
Katana Katz people who have the low price passes yes... we are blocked for the summer however if you have the most expensive pass you are able to attend without block out dates.
Yeah ppl with the lowest priced passes are blocked out, but they do that every year. They block the lowest APs for the entire summer but this is the first time it's affected the summer crowds at DL. It's always packed during the summer. This is rare
I was wondering if the grand opening of galaxies edge would draw crowds always from other lands. Which maybe good, cause as much as I wanna see the new land, this will make doing everything else run more smoothly.
This is surprising to me. There should be more people there. It is the height of the summer vacation travel and tourist season and you would think there would be more people there than what is documented in this video. I can distinctly remember going to Disneyland for my high school senior trip back in the late 1980's and the place was absolutely packed all day long. The wait in line time for Space Mountain was well over an hour and that was at 10:30 in the morning. I also went out there 4 years later when I graduated from college as I had a job interview in the Socal area. I was supposed to fly out there to LA and then go to my motel room and then go to the jobs interview the next day. So I managed to hop on an earlier flight and I so arrived in LA and I got to my motel room at about 10AM which was located not that far from Disneyland. So instead just staying in my motel room all day and watching TV and lounging by the pool I just decided to spend the day at Disneyland, since it was not that far away from the motel that I was staying at. Again the place was packed and the wait time to get on many of the rides was a lot longer than what was shown in this video. This time around the wait time to get on Space Mountain was over 2 hours if not more. So this is not good for Disneyland. It may not be able to sustain itself with this kind of low level of customer foot traffic.
Actually not paying your employees a livable minimum wage is a very Rightward thinking idea... As well as corporations tkaing advantage of Americans... Very very capitalist thing...
No sales at all that was a waste of money and resources. What it is happens to be new young managers come in and want to make changes and don't have the experience
My first (and last) time I was there, was with my family (mother, father and my two sisters) when I was 19 in 1967. The "setting" for this experience was that we were in LA for my sister's (a high school senior from Milwaukee WI) American Harp Federation's convention during which she was competing for a full tuition scholarship to the Eastman School of Music which is located in Rochester NY (equivalent to getting a scholarship to Harvard or Yale, but for music) which she won and after graduating, went on to being the harp faculty at the University of Denver, played in the Denver Symphony and was the "first call" union harpist in the Denver area. So while we were out there, we did a lot of sightseeing (this also being a major family vacation, first and only one out there). We wanted to go to DISNEYLAND!!! Remember Walt Disney World in Florida didn't exist then. This was a huge deal! We had been indoctrinated for years by the most important and seductive social influence EVER! The TV presence of......THE WALT DISNEY SHOW (every Sunday) ....AND, THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB tv show five days a week shown right after school starting during the middle fifties when I was in fifth grade (age 10). EVERY grade school kid would RUSH home to watch transfixed, on our black & white picture televisions. We knew all the songs, each day of the week's format, everyone had their favorite Mouseketeer, and the short mini-series bits with the Mouseketeers acting out the compelling sub-teenage dramas (and recreating them with each other at school). BUT the most insidious aspect of the show was that (which never occurred to us at the time) it was a six day a week brainwashing indoctrination brilliantly conceived by Disney. Every Sunday one of the featured elements of his program would show the plans and development of this idea of an amusement park on a scale never conceived before. It was fascinating, the ultimate tv commercial that held us spellbound. So by the the time it opened in 1955 (I was 8yrs old), the whole country of kids wanted to go there and begged their parents to distraction to go. So there I was, 12yrs later, still interested in wanting the Disneyland experience. I was somewhat doubtful, but it exceeded any of my expectations! I "got" it! The whole ambience was amazing, no shabby "state fairesque" food, souvenir and exhibition stands etc. EVERYTHING was substantial high quality places and spaces. Lush landscaping, water features, streams, ponds and no sleazy well-worn amusement park rides. It was all first class (and this was still 12yrs after it opened). One could literally eat off the streets, no gum wads, cigarette butts, food wrappers, bottles cups or cans etc. It was a revelation even to a 19yr old. The rides were also substantial, well-conceived, creative, and set the standard for all such facilities forward. We all loved it! And Disney did the same in 1971 with Walt Disney World. My wife and I had our honeymoon there in 1993, took our two kids several times in the mid to late 2000's. We all really enjoyed the iconic family vacation experience! My wife marched with her high school band in the mid-70's and and I was a band chaperon in 1984. Fond memories..........thanks for "tuning in".
Chris K i think a just read your bio. I never been to DW my family was too poor and i never beg my family but i did watch all the shows, only park i been to was indy park and 6 flags.
I remember going there years and years ago, and it was like this both days too, it was absolutely wonderful. Everything open, full cast very little waits
I went before Galaxy’s edges was open and it was heaven in wait time. We went on Indiana Jones 3 times ina row. The shortest time for space mountain was 10.
i was there literally the day after this video was put on youtube.. it was a GLORIOUS vacation and small lines.. we got to do EVERYTHING in the park AND relax and just enjoy the little things that most people skip while in the park..
Winnie the Pooh almost never has a wait. It's an underrated ride because it's a really nice ride but is ignored a lot. I never once waited in line more than five minutes for this ride and I go often since I live in the area. On the other hand Peter Pan for some reason is insanely crowded from the minute the park opens. I've seen people at rope drop run to that ride.
Agreed! A whole new land filled with stuff you have to buy to enjoy, with only 1 ride...and didn't help that they rushed out all those mediocre movies so fast...naRF! Lol
@@michaelmase5498 No. You're wrong. People don't have the money. They also expect season pass holders to shell out even more money to experience Galaxy's fucking Edge. Please know what you're talking about before replying to my brilliant posts. Thank you.
Disney is a luxury park. Is not meant for the poor. Do you expect to pay a low price for such a high end park? No. I don’t think is greed since people are still willing to pay for it. If people can afford it, that means that Disney is willing to high up the prices. If there is not enough people, then it will lower the prices. But is not greed when the demand meets the supply. You are not forced to go to the park.
Hello from the UK. So many memories of my only family holiday/vacation to the US comes flooding back watching this. December 1994. None of the rides were queueless on my two visits.
That was brilliant strategy boys! I loved that view of New Orleans Square! Just add a mint julep and a Monte Cristo sandwich and- perfection! I know your favorite number now: 5! ❤️
They just announced a discount ticket for AP bring a friend park hopper for $99. If your AP's blocked out, you can pay $99 as well to get in. First they blocked out loyal APs, now they are not getting the attendance they wanted, they want you to pay and bring a friend. SMH
I know! So ridiculous! Come on Disney! All you need to do is open up even just some blockout dates for us dedicated fans who are passholders...this is an easy fix...but they are just being stubborn or proud or just trying to get more money out of us (or at least it feels that way). But honestly, Disney is making a big mistake because we would show up and spend money if they would just open some dates up! The AP's will come and pay for parking and drinks and snacks and meals and souvenirs and collectibles...all thats needed is some dates that are open to us this summer! But no, we do not want to pay an extra $100 to get in on top of what we are already paying for a pass because Disney can't be bothered to fix their blockout calendar/empty park situation and OPEN SOME DATES UP!....I'm sorry, that is so not cool! I love you Disney, but no!

i was also there that day and also rode 90% of the rides before i even hit 12 o'clock!! thanks to rope drop, galaxys edge crowd, single riders, and fast pass. the crowds started picking up around lunch time and it was crowded the rest of the day.
