You were really travelling in the local areas of Guangzhou, especially the small food shops. Although i came from north China and am living in Germany, you still made me homesick. Thanks for the objective filming.
@@salvadorhenriquez4091 i am pretty sure you make more money in Germany than in china. the fact that the products are so cheap probably reflect on the salary of a normal Chinese citizen
It is great to see you enjoyed visiting China that much. My partner and I were there few weeks back, he was like didnt want to try public transport, didn’t want to eat that on the street, didn’t want to get sick.... I totally lost the joy of travelling lol I think next time I’m going along 🤣
As a businessman, I find that Guangzhou is the best destination compared other mega cities as Beingjing, Shanghai, even Shenzhen in terms of friendness/openness of local, living/traveling cost, climate environment, etc. paying a trip of even expand your business here is not a bad choice! For me, as a hunanese, I settled down here
Considering the size of the room it is a great deal. Sometimes it is worth spending a little extra for comfort. I'm sold on the bathroom! Too bad there wasn't a self-serve laundry. Other than the hotel the most money spent was on the laundry. The food looked delicious! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for the next video!
Nice vids man. I'm in Panyu district Luoxi town. Should meet up sometime... Those small little milk stuff is probiotics and I believe the one you drank in the vid is some coconut soy milk mixture.
That seems very expressive compared to others things in China. We had a hard time finding a laundromat in Shanghai. Then we're lucky to found a hotel with a washer. Are there laundromat in Guangzhou? How do the local do their laundry?
The AMP metro is one of my favorites here! If you get the end the have the window seats where everyone loves to watch out. The lights they have just make it worth taking the AMP. I’ve only taken it twice since it’s not very convenient for me to where I live.
Guangzhou in June is hot, daylight over 40 degrees, humidity 90% plus and by night is still strong heat around 35 degees, untill end of september Guangzhou and south of China is crazy hot over 45 degrees sensation. I lived in Guangzhou in Tian He district for the last 8 years. Food is not expensive but imported meat is expensive actually everything which is imported is really expensive in China. Metro and bus are very cheap, even taxi is cheap. Rent an apartment is expensive specially in Tianhe, Liede and Zhuliang new town, around these areas apartments are insane expensive but around this area is the most clean modern and international area of Guanzghou.
Nice burger! It reminds me of a kebab, I mean those Istanbul kebab places for eating where you order a roll with salad, ketchup, mayonnaise etc. and of course meat, they also have many kinds of pizzas, chips, drinks. Here in Italy for example you can find lots of those, have you found them anywhere in all the places you have visited?
Using subway card for more than 16 times in a month. Later on you'll 40% discount of the fee each time in this month. The lowest fee of subway in Guangzhou is 2 yuan. When you use it in the 17th time, the fee is 1.2 yuan. Bus has the similar rule of it too.
Nice vid. As a GuangZhou local I recommend u dial 960169 when u encounter language barriers in GZ ... According to my friend who works for this hotline, their interpreters can translate for expats if they need to talk to locals who don't speak English. and the translation service is free
Bro, nice video! I’ve been living and working in Guangzhou for the past 10 years. You’re more frugal than the local. I can’t even do it myself. I guess it’s a wake up call for me. I spend like if I were still living in Canada. It’s sad I know
I'm planning on traveling to Guangzhou this fall to teach English and have been searching like CRAZY for an informative video like yours! Looking forward to all your adventures and subscribed!
Nice and informative! However, everything u eat is not local...surprised u haven't visit the old guangzhou yet haha take your time and enjoy ur journey in guangzhou!
I'm scheduled to move to Guangzhou in late October but was considering asking my job to send me to Shenzhen instead. Which do you think is more expensive? Both look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Just a tip, China doesn’t really have laundromat kind of stores but dry cleaners, so doing laundry can be tricky. I’d recommend book one night of Airbnb that comes with a washer, to stay at a holiday inn express(the only brand i found in China that has self-laundry, including DRYERs!)
I am a Chinese living in Guangzhou. In fact, the per capita wage in Guangzhou is less than 8,000 yuan(about 1165 US dollars)a month. Perhaps this price is very cheap for people in developed countries. But I think eating now is more expensive.😳
awesome video!!! glad you are back to being able to post online again!! enjoy your travels and thanks for taking us along with you!! P.S.- Can you visit chocolate city!? As a black person, that would be amazing to see a real down to earth foreigner's experience to that city!!
I went there and it was empty, so I didn't film any of it! I unfortunately went at 2pm on a Monday. I work evenings so its hard for me to hit the right time. When is the best time to go there?
You’ve done a very great job traveling like a real Chinese, but the laundry shop you went was actually for dry cleaning and it’s really expensive. If you use a laundry machine and have all of your clothes washed cost only around 3-10RMB Imao
春天到华北,秋季下南方,夏天入青海,冬季去新疆,避开节假日,过年驻浙江, 如果有房车 可以游湖广 Spring to North China, autumn to the south, summer to Qinghai, winter to Xinjiang, avoid national holidays, Chinese New Year to Zhejiang,
Hi Patrick. I'm planning to go to China (Shanghai / Hongkong / Guangzhou???) around the end of this summer so I've been watching some of your videos already. But I am really anxious about this because I don't know the language. I'm trying to learn the bare basics but... my brain is so sloooow. As this is my first trip, (and maybe for other first timers) would you have any tips about how to make this more 'local', as how you found your accomodation, etc... How would you prepare for this? (money, phone, health, ...) Thanks a lot for sharing your travel adventures.
English is common in HK tho, SH and GZ would be a bit challenging to you. Don't forget the Great Firewall, you'd better to prepare the counterpart apps first
Fluffy Bunny you should definitely consider renting a room through Airbnb, and about the language, as long as you have google translate you will survive. Also apps like DiDi(china’s Uber) will be very useful. Beware that this season it gets really hot throughout the entire country. You should definitely come to Guangzhou, you would enjoy it for sure, it’s a very nice city 👌🏾
there's no need to worry about the landuague in the big cities of china. a great number of the younger generation is able to sepak english. and google translation will help you a lot. it's good to buy a local sim card when you landed on the airport, so that you can have the internet access.
I recommend you download "Dear Translate" app. It can help you to do the translation. I think it will cover almost all use cases. For bookings, just Expedia's or airbnb is fine
That hotelis too expensive look for Chan Kong Hotel in Panyu also a very local neighborhood but rooms are much bigger and much better and prices is lower than that...
Can you tell me the name of the area you were living and the name of the hotel? I am thinking of a solo trip to Guangzhou and feeling a bit daunted by the challenge.
I went there and it was empty, so I didn't film any of it! I unfortunately went at 2pm on a Monday. I work evenings so its hard for me to hit the right time. When is the best time to go there?
emmm.... Everyone pays via mobile device, yes. But if you only have cash, then it is also ok in many places of China, although you have to wait, because people may be finding where their cash is to exchange for you. But generally, it is ok if you only have cash.
The foods you chose are very north China style, but they seem to be western foreign people friendly, local Guangzhou food would be a little bit weird for them~ Anyway, enjoy your trip in GZ 🤗
I hope there are good options for beef and chicken burgers....can you tell me price range... As I am not allowed to eat pork. What type of restaurant should u go for considering 5 dollars lunch menu
