How Fantastic Beasts Should Have Ended | Harry Potter Film Theory 

Will we ever get a Fantastic Beasts 4 or 5???

I wish the movies had just been a series of loosely connected, lighthearted adventures starring Newt and Jacob. Instead of obliviating Jacob, Newt just brings him along as his assistant/bestie.

The perfect way to end the Fantastic Beast series would have been to make Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them a standalone film. If they then wanted Newt to cameo in or play a major role in a Grindelwald-focused series, it wouldn't have felt out of place and shoehorned for Newt to be the protagonist to films which have almost nothing to do with him

While the movies had their fair share of issues, I absolutely adore Newt as a protagonist so I can't help wishing they'd finish the last two anyways...

I wish JK would just publish the whole story in book so we can actually experience it the same way we did with HP. I just loved reading those books…

So does the fact that Fawx stays with Dumbledore mean he's ALWAYS in desperate need?

I really wish they would make the last two. The FB movies are a complete mess, but I think they were still salvageable if Rowling actually had a full story planned out. In any case, here's hoping we don't get a Cursed Child movie as a replacement.

Fawkes beeing the prophecy avenger also makes sense because then it would still be a FANTASTIC BEAST at the core of the entire story.

SCB, you guys seriously rock! I honestly think you'd make an an amazing "What if Neville Longbottom was the Chosen One" series.

I've basically decided Fantastic Beasts is a standalone film to enjoy and the subsequent films are just something I'm no longer bothering to think about

As always your theories seem more thought through than the actual movies in the FB franchise at the very least

I currenlty doubt that we will get Fantastic Beasts 4 and 5, they have already been talking about rebooting actual Harry Potter, and with the situation with the author, I think it wont be long until its full on canceled. However, what I think should happen, is that I think JKR should just write this story into books. Shes clearly better at book writing than script writing and could condense all 5 movies into 3 books, giving much needed detail that the movies clearly lack, and make alterations and corrections to any potential errors the movies may have created. The first two books could cover essentially the same events as the first 3 movies, and the last book would cover whatever movie 4 and 5 would have. I think that would be ultimately the best way to go to finish this story, since personally, I do hate a story that is left unfinished.

I don't think it would be a fight that would turn Aberforth and Nagini. At least for Aberforth, we know they at least talked after this event. It would be too easy for SOME kind of reconciliation to be made. I think it would be another one of Albus' schemes that doesn't work out and results in Credence's death. That would make Aberforth and Nagini angry, but would also explain some of Aberforth's behavior and comments towards Harry in the original series. Given the timing, I think maybe the Ministry and Supreme Leader hear from the people who were at Grindewald's meeting in Paris and find out a second great war is coming (WWII and Grindewald) and ask Dumbledore to stop him before it happens. Albus knows that he is an equal to Grindewald, but would not be able to defeat him, only fight him to a draw. They are about as powerful and know each other too well for either to have an upper hand. But Albus thinks that Credence can help change the balance. He also knows that Grindewald wants him, so he uses him. Credence, wanting redemption, agrees to a plan to lure Grindewald out and defeat him. The plan works, but as Albus goes to use the killing curse, he doesn't really mean it in his heart, because even after everything he did, Albus still cares for Grindewald, so the curse doesn't work. Grindewald understands that Albus cannot kill him and realizes he will never get Credence, so he decides to kill Credence so he is not a threat. Meanwhile, back at headquarters, Fawkes goes crazy because he senses Dumbledores are in trouble, and does the cool fire transportation thing Albus does with Fawkes during Order of the Phoenix, except this time with Aberforth. It transports him to the fight. The Obscurus takes control and defends Credence, but also attacks Albus, and Grindewald, now out numbered three to one, realizes he will not win, and flees to fight another day while also realizing one of Albus or Credence won't make it out. Aberforth tries to calm the Obscurus while Albus holds it off. Albus doesn't want to lose his last family member or have to kill Credence, so he convinces Aberforth to have Aberforth flee while Albus sacrifices himself so the Obscurus gets back under control of Credence. Aberforth agrees to it, reconciling with his brother. Aberforth leaves and as Albus is about to sacrifice himself, Fawkes absorbs the Obscurus against Albus' wishes. Credence's body returns from the remnants of the Obscurus and Albus is forced to bring his body back to Aberforth who thought his son would survive and his brother perish, but instead is greeted with the opposite. He breaks and accuses Albus of planning it "for the greater good". Nagini is also there and only hears this side of the story and swears she will see the end of Albus. Albus now has Fawkes and takes him to Ollivander to make two wands, the means for a wizard to express their magic, in honor of the two Obscurials he was not able to save. That explains both the only two feathers as well as why these wands may have chosen such powerful wizards, because Fawkes absorbed a very powerful magical entity in the Obscurus and that power seeks another powerful wielder.

You guys should write books of your own, I would love to have stories with your kind of style, plot twists, and hints. Not just fan fiction, I think that anything you guys write would be great

You know the more I think about it the more I realize the reason why I love the FB movies is because of SCB. I liked the first movie just fine but I was in different to the second two. But watching the theories, seeing the trailer break downs, waiting for the movie reviews has just been so much fun. I have enjoyed the story and ideas crafted from SCB more then the story that the author crafted. The way it’s so thought out and planned, the details and research is just so refreshing to see.

In the first Fantastic Beasts film, Tina disarms Grindelwald in the subway station, so doesn't that mean Tina was the owner of the Elder wand this whole time🤔

Assuming you guys are right about the Phoenix in CoG turning out to be Fawkes, I imagine that Nagini (who feels so strongly for Credence) would seek out the person whose wand has his feather. Like Fawkes leaving a feather was some sort of sign. Around that alleged battle with Credence vs Albus (or credence otherwise dies), Nagini may also find out that Fawkes left a feather that resides in Tom Riddle’s wand. It would make sense that Nagini would seek him out because (since Harry’s wand wasn’t made/claimed yet) it would feel like the only person alive worthy of Credence’s “legacy” would be Tom.

Even though I’ve pretty much accepted that we might not get any more FB, I would love to see the conclusion. Even though the series has been a mess, I’m definitely curious, and I love these characters.

Also also actually actually that would make both Voldemort's and Dumbledore's "pets" former(?) real people. Although the question would remain, how Corvus turns into a phoenix in the first place.

This would also mean the prophecy from the Fantastic Beasts series and the prophecy from the main Harry Potter series are connected to one another. One prophecy sets the groundwork for the other to be fulfilled.

I have a theory that ties into Hogwarts Legacy. What if Poppy Sweeting is the mother of Newt Scamander. The years line up for Poppy to be the right age. (23 in 1897) Both are in Hufflepuff, and both have a fascination and drive to protect and study fantastic beasts. Newt got his love of beasts from his mother, who isn't named in canon but is said to have bred Hippogriffs

This explanation makes so much sense! It’s a shame if they do finish the last two movies I doubt they would be close to this theory.

I believe that the meaning of having the cores come from Fawkes is an allegory for Dumbledore's influence in their lives from the beginning of their journey

Something I've been thinking on since re listening to Order of Phoenix for the gazillionth time by now, is how old is Griselda Marchbanks. Madame Marcbanks one of the examiner's for Harry's year for O. W. Ls, says she examinatied Dumbledore personally during his O. W. Ls. Dumbledore is 115 when he dies in 1997. He was born in 1881, considering the description of Marchbanks is "her face was lined as if with cobwebs" and she was partially deaf. I'd say Griselda Marcbanks is between 150 - 200 yrs old. For her to have be an examiner she'd have to be old enough to have gone through the school education herself and then further learn how/what the Ministry considers a pass or a fail. Which would be 10-20 yrs of learning and going through and observing examinations etc I reckon Marchbanks was 30-40 yrs older than Dumbledore.

I enjoy the different videos but honestly I think the twin cores was foreshadowing by JK of what Harry really was, Voldemort's Horcrux, that on the outside (the wood and length) defined who Harry was at his core he still held the core of Tom Riddle. With everything what you said being true, that he is Tom's way of defeating death, that he was able to defeat death with his survival and becoming a Horcrux, and that he must die and return to defeat ol Voldy. I also think it was another way of Tom marking him (I wonder if Neville had a chance of recieving the wand first if he didnt get his hand me down.). The fact that Harry's wand broke was also foreshadowing the severing Harry from Voldemort. Just my two sheckles.

Random thought: What if Fawks donated the feather for Harry's wand before absorbing the obscurus from Credence, then donates Voldemort's feather after absorbing the obscurus. Therefore Voldemort's wand would come from a place of darkness/no love, just like himself, while still allowing Harry's wand to be free of the influence of the obscurus (symbolically at least).

I like your explanation for Nagini. Her witnessing Dumbledore "kill" Credence would be a good enough reason for her to join "the opposite side", especially since it can be assumed that she is gradually losing her human mind. Maybe in the end, you can't make her understand and all she is left with is a burning hatred for Dumbledore.

When I saw this title, I literally thought it was an actual "How It Should Have Ended" skit, from the channel with the same name as the title lol.

I have so enjoyed all your videos and theories on the different details from the Fantastic Beast series! To me, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Crimes of Grindelwald felt riddled with so many intentional, mysterious details that would later pay off but had to be seen early on screen in the series for the greater scheme of the story. I felt Secrets of Dumbledore was a thrown together mess that seemed to lack the first two movies' intentional groundwork/logic for the story as a whole. So, I am super disappointed we won’t get to see the whole story and what it means for the Harry Potter saga but I immensely enjoy watching your takes on it!

You guys rock. There's so much effort put into this, just like the rest of your content. Bravo.

I know there's evidence that the series won't continue, but the duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald has yet to happen and it's what everyone has been waiting for because it's famous! So I have hope that WB will atleast do one more to wrap up everyone's storyline and give us the duel, so that we can actually find out the truth about what really happened!

A phoenix's tears heal, don't know if its been expanded on but it would stand to reason there tears could cure magical ailments, maybe curses? and maybe someone with an obscuris could be healed by those tears. I'm writing this before finishing the video so sorry if I jumped the gun.

I like it, one thing I’d like to add is that I think Credence and Nagini have a daughter who’s also called Nagini, she goes to Hogwarts with Tom Riddle, and she becomes Nagini from the main story. It makes more sense that Tom could pulled his girl friend to his cause than some woman 20 years older than him, it seems strange that Nagini from the fantastic beast story would become evil, and I feel like the reveal about her was a bit early on and we were going to get a second reveal.

The first movie was really exciting to watch but Crimes of Grindelwald was disappointing to me. I have yet to see Secrets of Dumbledore but I hear its good

Maybe phoenix song has something to do with it, we know that when it's songs have special uplifting properties. Perhaps because an obscurus is a manifestation of inner turmoil and struggle the song might be the cure by allowing the wizard to embrace themselves and gain some inner peace thusly destroying or weakening the obscurial. Then a wizard like newt could remove the weakened obscurus and perhaps the phoenix could use it's tears to keep the host from dying.

the fact that harry is carrying a piece of voldemort's soul inside him goes further to explaining WHY/HOW harry and voldemort got twin wands than just "coincidence". The wand CHOOSES the wizard. The wand saw great power and potential in harry, the same way it's brother [the wand that chose voldemort] saw potential and power in voldemort....they BOTH recognized voldemort's power in the wizard they chose. ;)

I have a really crazy alternate course video to discuss what if Severus ended up with Lily instead of James how different would the 2nd wizarding war have been. Would Voldemort still have been temporarily defeated by Lily sacrificing herself for her son? Would her son still have gone to live with the Dursleys? Would Severus have raised his son after Lily was killed? Would Severus' son still be the chosen one? So many questions from this one divergence

One possibility for baby Corvus is he could have been picked up by a magical creature, something that would have turned him into something that could survive in the water. He wouldn’t necessarily drown right away because he’s a wizard and it’s established with Neville telling the story about how his grandparents threw him out an upstairs window to test him for magic that wizard babies tend to automatically use magic to protect themselves. The wings from the water could be something like a sea dragon, something that would fit the fantastic beast theme but hasn’t been introduced yet. Honestly I think Nagini went with Voldemort because he’s the only one who can understand her in her now permanent snake form. He also offers her safety, keeping her by his side instead of hunting her, which is something she has never had or even really hoped to have.

Part of me thinks that the Phoenix feather Albus gave to his brother when he convinced him to come and speak to Credence, will eventually be sold to Olivander, to make Voldy's wand.

Nagini in Harry Potter books could also be the daughter or granddaughter of FB Nagini. Some of the older Phenix lore is that there is only one. In HP universe it is implied there are more than one.

The harry potter series is all about the twin cores and the profecy, it would be nice to have the mystery solved

This is my interpretation, just knowing what we know. 1. Regarding the prophecy, I think Credence and Corvus are both red herrings. I believe that the subject of the prophecy is Lord Voldemort himself. So let's break this down. "A son cruelly banished, despair of the daughter." I believe that this refers to rather a witch and wizard a son and daughter of the magical world. In this case, the son is Voldemort, and the daughter was Merope, his mother, who was in great despair. "Return, great avenger, with wings from the water." I think that the great avenger is the banished son due to the use of the word return. And for the "with wings from the water" part. I believe that this is metaphorical. More so, referring to rising. Riding from the water. Or his herritege. What is the element associated with Slytherin? Water. So, the way I see it, it means return great avenger by rising into your heritage, becoming the heir of Slytherin. I believe that the revenge would be obvious. Revenge on the muggle world for his Banishment. 2. In regards to the phinox, there's another awnser. Another Dumbledore we missed. Percival's sister, Honora Dumbledore. We know that Credence went to America with his aunt. It's also very likely that she didn't survive. So, when she died, she became a phinox. And has been watching over her nephew this whole time. I feel like Warner Bros should consult with SuperCarlinBrothers and MovieFlame to fix these movies. Both channels have proven their knowledge and love of the Wizarding World so they'd be able to keep things accurate, they can see today's video as a draft and Morgan Ross of MovieFlame studied film!
