Today I've got a situation where there are some Maple rounds stacked right next to the splitter and I'm going to time myself. Let see what happens.

Nice setup Brad. Taking the time to stage the rounds is the way to go in my opinion, at least it works well for me. But to each there own. I personally like not tripping over the rounds while bucking and splitting. I can see another pallet shed in the future for your kid’s businesses. Way to go Taylor & Brady.

Now how bout a time comparison with 4 way on similar sized wood. I enjoy seeing some smaller sized blocks run with box wedge. I have a 12-22 just run the 4 way not worth taking the time and effort to switch to 6 way. I don't have a box wedge but wonder about getting one and just using it all the time. Hello Mr. Brad, March is as fickle than a weatherman can handle, Just nearly impossible to predict. Seems as if your help does like mine, helps you too get started but never sticks around to completion. I hope all the side hustles of your side hustle nets good results, If the price is right, it will sell, those small kindling pieses are a good start to the little 5 or 6 inch wood needed for the table top firepits, keep an eye out on how those are selling in your area.

Do you normally cut and split by species or do you cut and split as it comes from the log pile? good viewing though.
@FirewoodattheFurnace
@FirewoodattheFurnace Год назад
I separate species but mostly sell it as mixed hardwoods. Occasionally someone will ask for small amounts of hickory or cherry for smoking so I like to keep it organized
@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood
Wow. You certainly seem to have things setup nicely. I know it’s probably a lot more work, but would you ever consider separating your small rounds to be split with a 4 or 6 way. I can see for you it may not work because the mixing of wood species. I don’t believe I have seen you use anything but your 7 way since you got your 12-22. I hope both Taylor and Brady’s ventures do well for them over the next year and beyond. Very nice video, keep them up.
