In my town, we have these Sabal palms at a park and there are a bunch of seedlings that easily come out of the ground, so I took some, and the biggest one that I took is about 4 or 5 years old and is doing perfect
@@TheJames2929 Hey James if you want I can send you a couple seedlings in the mail, free of charge. I live in the Guelph area so you should get it quick.
I’m in 7a 6b borderline Can sabal palmetto grow in a pot so I can bring it into a garage in the wintertime. Or should I just grow it outside and protect
@13ased_Americanthey have a root but they would never shoot up the top growth of the palm and they failed so I got a live Borassus aethiopum palm off of Etsy
@@TheJames2929 I know the leaves will stay attached... but on some palms, like the Trachy, they just look all beat to hell, like an old shredded flag just flopping around in the wind. But OK. Since you have one I'll obviously take your word that too much wind doesn't make them look bad.
@@TheJames2929 One last question... Have you ever used infrared thermal heaters? You know, because they don't waste energy heating air, they just directly heat objects... Ever use them? I still don't know why nobody on border USDA zones aren't using these things yet.
Northern Georgia is a little bit of a push for them southern Georgia they do quite fine anything south of Atlanta they are definitely borderline zone there in Atlanta. Near the coast like Savannah is the best for them
Sabal palm trees or sabal palmettos I have one it's like 6 months old not a year old yet and it has 2 strap leaves plus the one that's half way out I hope it's not too slow but my washingtonia robust are definitely bigger and have more leaves I started my palmettos and my robust at the same time there is definitely a difference between the palmetto and the washingtonia robusta
@@freerobuxcheckmychannel2521 yes it does but nobody cares about that because it’s so common there and most of the time it is private property so it is what it is. I have seen the city some times just kill thousands of them for no reason. 🥲
