How fast is Ken Block’s all-electric Audi RS e-tron GT? Speed tests for science!

We already know the Audi RS e-tron GT is the fastest RS badged production car on earth, but how fast is that?? Lets throw on our scumbag lab-coats (really really nice Hoonigan jackets) and run a few tests! The e-tron GT producing 637 horsepower and 612 torque INSTANTLY, so I think we should find out how it does from 0-60mph, 0-100mph-0, AND 0-33mph in REVERSE (for science). What's the fun in doing all this testing alone though? This time around I get the whole production crew involved to see how they feel about EV power. More science, more better..? Enjoy episode 2 of 6 dedicated to my Audi RS e-tron GT daily driver project!

Wrap , but I feel ya something about that car is so clean looking. Personally I’d like all four wheels to be the rear wheels but I get why they mixed them up , and either way the car looks insane.

@@danielfish101 Cars are more just 0-60 though. Because a 1000 HP car is quicker on straight line than 700 HP doesn t matter the former the better car. I would take the Audi because i think the car is well tuned car and drives better than the Plaid in term of ride quality. You can drive it on long trip or track, or in town and it will deliver.

Yes they're fast, yes they have superior battery tech and have an amazing charging infrastructure. But that's it. Battery tech and charging infrastructure are irrelevant if your home charger fulfils 99% of your needs.

@@ericholmquest2988 Audi ALWAYS understates their factory times. Every single test I've seen with a Dragy has the RS E-Tron GT doing 0-60 in 2.8-2.9 seconds

I may be a bit older than KB and find that the typical 0-60 mph times of these e-vehicles are insanely quick. In our day, only speed bikes could accomplish those times....a 0-60 mph of less than 6 seconds was considered very fast. Just hearing these avg speed times is seriously impressive.

Gotta hand it to Audi.. every single RS model is just beautiful. Our shop just had a 94 Rs2 come in today with a broken crankshaft (rough day) but damn it... even the most basic Rs out there, and its still just gorgeous. Very few "average consumer" manufactures can even be mentioned in the same room as Audi for the ability to make a gorgeous car. -Audi tech at a well known Audi performance shop

him not adapting to electric and continued to do ice vehicles i heard is why ford booted him. dont know how true that is. but ford makes a awd ev drift car mach e. and this thing comparably is boring is crap compared to the mach e drift car or even most of the ice cars out here. how is this supposed to be exciting. no sound and not fast likethe tesla plaid ev cobra jet drift mach e or lucid air. wheels on a ev with a ski box dont make it cool

Plus *whispers so ford can’t hear*, these look better then the Mach e ever will. \*whisper* Why don’t we focus on the positives, not the I didn’t get to drive it and could do better, like most the haters out there, we’re better then that.

The Hoonitron will be much better then the Mach e and is more important to ken then the Mach e

I went with the Plaid even though I think the RS eTron GT is my favorite looking EV - the Plaid is just so much more intense over a whole second faster 0-60 with 2.1 - 2.3 and now with the track mode from software update you can really dial in the handling dynamics of the car allowing some to put more power to the back and dial down computer correction so you can drift and smack down some donuts - I am still a huge Audi fan and keeping my 2021 TTRS for quite a while - gotta keep the sound and that light weight nimble feeling and it isn’t slow doing around 3.5/3.6 0-60

My experience with digital speedometers is that they tend to lag. By the time it shows 60 MPH you are actually going faster. It could be (should be) that Audi took the violent acceleration into account when designing the electronics, and used a high sample rate. The bottom line is that a stop watch, combined with the vehicle's speedometer, are poor tools to measure acceleration with such a powerful vehicle.

That’s a great point. It’s interesting because a lot of the time Audi undersell their car’s 0-60 time for no apparent reason. Consistently like .3 quicker than advertised when actually tested. Would’ve loved to see proper telemetry on this!

I miss this man something fierce. I don't get emotional about people I haven't personally met often, But Ken is special, He reached out and touched all of us in some way or another with his content and care. I love that he was so involved with family, friends and fans alike. I hope I meet him one day and get to say hello when its my day to be called home. Rest In heavenly peace Ken Block, You are loved and missed so much.
