Only thing I might suggest is a higher volume on mic, it’s a bit lower than usual. Other than that, keep em coming this fuels my cardio sessions.

I wanted to express my appreciation for this video series. You do an exceptional job at explaining complex/ technical subject matter at a level that can be understood by anyone with a high school level education in chemistry and biology. Thank you!

Hi, Biolayne...thanks for sharing this videos. I read twice the book, Carb backloading...followed the instruction exactly as the book mentioned and the results didn't appear like it was suppose to be. Following another protocol now with much better results..one more time, thanks for all the videos. Keep it up!

Just catching this series! Absolutely love your stuff bro. I found you while listening to Joe Rogan's podcast with the Keto King Dom D'Agostino. I love the way you challenge everything and want facts. This series is great because fat lose is fat lose. Regardless of how you do it. I personally have gone from 400lbs to 220lbs all on keto and have sustained it. Videos like this and this series fuel me!

Love the series. I'm confused where ketones fit into all this, though. Are ketones represented by one of the terms in this diagram or is ketone metabolism a whole different/parallel/downstream process separate from regular fat metabolism?

Good information Layne, Can you balance your audio levels with the intro. It is significantly higher gain/volume and then when it cuts to your white board stuff its much quieter. My ears would appreciate it for your future videos. :)

So basically all the supplements such as L carnitine or CLA,which are sold as supplements that enhance the fat oxidation process, are not as effective as they are marketed😲😲😲😧😧😧. I wish I had watched this video before I bought L carnitine this week! Thanks for the videos!!

Wouldn't UCP be an example of how CICO is more nuanced? I know that some bodybuilders also take a drug that makes ATP generation extremely inefficient (and increases body heat), thus forcing increased calorie burning. Forgot the name. EDIT: Drug name is DNP

All cool and nice except for the foods that don't count ... :-) Since you're describing energy systems - UCP - you could also describe DNP. You can also describe why keto - done properly - may be the WORST diet for fat loss. It causes your UCP to come closer, which makes energy production more efficient. Throwing some numbers - even change of 1 Angstrem distance between inner and outer mitochondria membrane can affect the effectiveness of electron transport chain by ~10-fold. That's huge. This means you can do more on a less energy, thus you'll burn less energy doing the same stuff. Exactly the opposite of what you want to get. The only real benefit of keto for fat loss is that it messes with hunger signalling and getting you off sugar addiction. Dopamine, delta FosB, et caetera. If I got something wrong - please throw an actual science at me. Everyone will benefit from that :-)
