I agree and believe everything you’re saying! I just cannot seem to reject foods that I know aren’t good for me. I’ll order Chinese food and know that I’ll be bloated and cranky then next day. Even as I’m eating it I’m condemning myself for it.. in the end not really enjoying the meal to its fullest. Ugh! Then trying to make up for it, I’ll fast the next morning but overindulge again the rest of the day. The vicious cycle continues. I have 25 pounds to lose and nothing I try sticks long enough to make a change! Your videos inspire me! Thank you

Hey Vanessa. You’re speaking my past! That was me! You know what really helped me though? Applying the principles I teach in The Mindful Nutrition School. For example one of them was Decolonizing My Diet. That sounds like a mouthful lol. Here’s what I did. I really got present to how capitalism and colonization play a role in how we overconsume and overeat. I started looking at my relationship to food and owning how detrimental it was. Then I started eating 🥣 Mindful portions and replacing the foods that made me feel horrible with foods that made me feel better. For example, in your case, the Chinese food you buy doesn’t feel good. Let’s say you love the Chicken and Broccoli. Instead of ordering it, what would it look like if you batch cooked it with high quality ingredients and then portioned it and froze it. So when you had a desire to eat it, you went to your freezer and warmed it up instead of UberEats? I bet your gut would feel better! Yep yep yep sis, bad food definetly makes me feel depressed. Even when you start eating healthy is will take a while for your body to adjust.

Yep! And that’s where some folks get frustrated. They think okay I ate salad and drank water today, why don’t I feel excellent? Lol. But what’s so fascinating to me is that once you eat healthy, it only takes 3 days for you to really feel the effects. 3 days is really good all things considered!

@@TheMindfulPlate I didn't know about the 3 days, that's awesome. Three days is definitely doable, and once you start feeling great you would want to continue on the path to healthiness :).

@@kiagrace2341 yeah 72 hours is all it takes! If you can make it through that, then you’re solid. The next phase is to stay consistent and if you fall off and go back to some old eating habits , just be sure to reset yourself at your next meal. Don’t wait till tomorrow or even till “Monday” to get back on track. The next time you eat, just choose something sensible ☺️
