Realistically speaking, I was thinking of 4 rings in 6-7 years. They could make moves to gather more pieces too because of how attractive the 2 star players would look together
Yeah he was not in his prime yet. He was just getting to that point where the great players begin to expand on their games. Either working on that mid range or 3 and working out the little problems with what they are already great at.
It wasn't just one. That's what people forget. After his first injury he was still around 60 percent *athletically* from what he was before. The problem was that he kept getting injured.
Rose's ability to finish around the rim and contort his body in air was the best I've seen since Jordan. There were times were I had flashbacks to when I was a kid while watching some of his moves, as though I could swear I had just watched a mini Jordan crash the rim.
This is when 'load management' would've been very a career saver. I love the MJ mentality of playing each game because there's one kid who was looking forward to seeing you play. But teams should be smart enough to rest their key players in the 2nd half of the games if the playoffs are in sight for them. Especially if they are primed to compete for the championship.
He actually had 4 knee surgeries and the 50 pt game didn’t go into OT. Even now when healthy, Rose is still a top talent in this league, he just hasn’t had much opportunity or been in a good situation in recent years. I need him to get a ring🌹💯
Two of them are minor though, and he returned in about 2-3 weeks. The major ones was the ACL (2012) and Meniscus (2013). Yes I concur with your assertion about D.Rose not being able to be in a team that will unhesitatingly render him the opportunity to rise in recent years. But we know that didn’t occur due to the immutable of criticism from the media that sort of muzzled the whole process of him being able to recuperate, corroborate and redeem himself from all of his misfortunes. As a result, Rose had spent quiet a lot of time outside of the league and he even considered hanging up his shoes.
I'm sure D rose would have been the best player of his era if he wasn't injured. And I'm sure he knows it as well. the fact that despite this he still managed to accept being nothing more than a very solid pg playing for a low tier team tells you how great of a man he is. His story is incredibly sad and inspiring at the same time that it deserves a movie
Control is the key word. Explosive, fast, agile were other blessings he had, but the fact that he had so much control with his package is what mad him DIFFERENT. Sadly, we’re all only human. The human body can only take so much. 😢
Being that athletic comes with a price. His body broke down from it. It's such a shame. Rose could've been one of the all time great Chicago Bulls players.
Being a lifetime Bulls fan after M.J. retired I thought D.Rose would lead them to the promised land and if he'd remained healthy I truly feel he would have. He was amazing and one of the biggest what it's in NBA history.
Prime D Rose was the epitome of athleticism on the court. Dude was fast, powerful, explosive, dynamic, and intelligent. Never forget when he flexed on Lebron and D wade down the fast break! 💪 Lebron was pissed😂
Being from the same neighborhood as Rose bro was like a superhero .. he was the most special player I’ve seen at the PG position in terms of speed, athleticism, finishes that just left your jaw on the floor…I truly wish his injuries didn’t derail his career msn I pray he gets a ring one day.
Loved Rose, been a Bulls fan for a very long time. His injury was very sad. As great as his explosiveness and scoring were I feel like the real greatness was missed. He was just getting passed those early years and into his prime and it was over.
Cool video! I'm surprised this video was made while his NBA career is still going on. I definitely hope Rose wins an NBA championship before he retires. Rose has been my #1 favorite Nba star ever since Kobe Bryant retired in 2016.
The internet is a great thing sometimes its crazy how we could time travel like it was yesterday I swear if I could I would of make sure he rested in game when needed and take him out early on injuries night
5:00 bro u can’t just lie. Drose was still top 10 most exiting finishers around the rim in the nba at that period. Some of his craziest acrobatics were in New York and his last season in Chicago it’s his choice not to raise up for the big time dunks. He just doesn’t want to get hurt again...
Almost made me cry Derrick Rose would be top 10 players in history if could stay healthy love him ❤❤❤💪🔥😥😭 I hope he's going to win the ring with the knicks they are having extremely talented roster right now
Im too old right now. I used to saw him playing on the court before he was injured. I felt so sad of his fate. Im still the favorite of this guy even though he was injured i guess so many times in his career. Good luck derreck rose. Im still ur number one fun so to speak.
We actually didn't get to see him in his prime. He got hurt in his early 20s and was never the same. I would have loved to see him around 26-28 years old without ever getting hurt. He was just scratching the surface of what he could do on the court.
No we did but the other meaning of prime which is peak drose peak is mvp drose which is why they say the mvp drose is his prime but it is true he have alot of imrpovement he can do
my cousin was a d rose fan, he showed me d rose highlights when i was a kid. as soon as i saw him fly, i was hooked. that’s how basketball was introduced to me.
I was 10 years old when the drose was in his prime. he was a great role model for playing basketball. I was watching his highlights and wearing Rose 2.0 which is still greatest basketball shoe ever then going out and try his signature moves. He reminds my childhood. LOVE U D. ROSE
I mean it’s his fault he kept landing with one leg look at russ he knows how to protect his body and he didn’t hace an injury that affected his playing style
I feel like if Derrick Rose would’ve never gotten injured and he would’ve kept improving the way he was he would’ve possibly given MJ a run for his money
Derrick rose is the reason for me to start watching the NBA in my country basketball is not really famous until 2016 but I loved how Derrick rose played he is the player that I truly respect and started collecting his jerseys
I remember watching him when he first came onto the Bulls. I was a die-hard fan watching him from day one. This injury was probably the worst thing Chicago sports fans had to endure.
WE NEVER SAW D ROSE IN HIS PRIME. Remember he was like 23 when his injury first happened. They say your prime is between 27-32. He is 32 now. Most of his 20s he was recovering and reinventing his game. So we technically never saw him during his prime.
@Howard Vineta that shows how good he would have become. That ended up being his prime because of injuries but he would be better than Curry and probably the best player in the league if he didn’t get injured
Unless D. Rose had another superstar join him he would have never won a championship even if he wasn't injured. He is listed at 6'3" but barefooted he is 6'1". It's virtually impossible to be the first scoring option on a championship team and be that short. Nee Chris Paul and Damian Lilliard.
Actually when Rose came back for the 14-15 season he was still super athletic after 2 knee surgeries. It was the 3rd knee surgery that season in early 2015 that seemed to robbed him of some athleticism. He’d tore his meniscus again but instead of sitting out the rest of the season he rushed back for the 2015 playoffs.
@@t-bone971 No I think he means at that point he could've done better if he hasn't been injured. Who knows? If D-Rose didn't get injured he may have won more mvps or something
Man basketball was always my 1st love but sadly I wasn’t watching or into the NBA around this time… so…. I never really got to experience the whole D.Rose rise or fall… & that bothers me till this day… bcuz he’s my type of player… small, all heart, speedy & crafty…. But to add crazy hops & posterizing… man I wish I tuned in. But man, it’s sad that he never got to play his FULL potential… prob be a great
I think if Rose doesn’t get hurt at all during the ‘12 Playoffs,Chicago would have lost to Miami in maybe a 7 game series instead of 5 from the previous year...plus if Chicago revamps its squad after 2012 I see Rose’s career looking like this 2x NBA Champion(2014-2015 back to back) 2x MVP 2011&2015 2x Scoring Champion 1x Assist Champion 11x NBA All Star 7x All NBA 4x All NBA Defensive
Derrick Rose wasn’t in his prime at 22. Yeah he is was a mvp at 22. But that wasn’t his prime. Basketball players don’t reach their prime until their mid 20’s to early thirties. So basically basketball players don’t reach their prime until age 25 to age 33. It would be scary to imagine what Rose would’ve been around that age 25 to 33.
True not considered a prime but a true Chicago Bulls legend If he never got hurt and stayed healthy oh my God he would’ve won championships eventually and that MVP is impressive for his second year I think he is one of the most underrated NBA players
Back then i was always amazed whenever i see his plays, i was like is this guy for real?! But at the same time i was thinking the way he plays, his legs isn't gonna last.
I still consider him the most talented player to ever wear a Chicago Bulls jersey. Jordan was obviously a better athlete but the things MVP Rose did with the basketball... man, it was just different.
Every kids at my age in Mongolia amazed how he played. Notebook with his picture was sold many times and Bulls jersey written Rose in the back was the coolest jersey. (Probably Kobe or LeBron’s were more famous) Thats few examples how amazing he was.
I remember when rose was a rookie we all rocked his jersey because everyone knew d rose was one of the greatest Chicago bulls had in those few yrs of absolute magic
I love Derrick Rose. I’m from Chicago and it was heartbreaking seeing his downfall due to injury. One correction at the end, though. Russell Westbrook was more athletic than Rose at their respective peaks. It wasn’t by a lot, but Westbrook was an absolute freak athlete and easily the most athletic point guard ever.
Dude broke the limits of the human body for us to watch and enjoy. Skill level, creativity, heart, dusting himself off time and time again. One of the greatest guards and greatest FAN favorites of all time. If you dont like drose you gotta check yourself into a psych ward haha. Ps "as fate would have it, he got drafted by the home town team"............ nba knew a hometown kid was good for business hahha fate ain't got nothing to do with it
