That's cute if only he had consistently faced the athletes of today on the perimeter and faced zone concepts where he could consistently get double and triple teamed. He was definitely fortunate to have played for a franchise that surrounded him with great defenders who were selfless offensively and he was also fortunate that all the teams that kept pushing his shit in that actually had championship experience got old and retired. Those teams he faced in the finals were some of the worst teams to ever win the western conference.

All things said MJ never relied on them on them to avg 25+ pts or close a game unless he was insanely triple teamed, only then he'd pass the ball. Unlike LeBron who had to have Ray Allen save his ass after he bricked, which he later then got PTSD flashbacks of that moment in Cleveland and handed the ball to Kyrie to close out the game. When the Bulls had a rematch against the Pistons, they were around the same age as Jordan with Bill Laimbeer being the oldest at 32 or 33 so I have no idea what you're talking about "those guys who had championship experience and beat him before got old and retired". That's just an example of modern media brainwashing right there. The worst team Bulls faced in the finals were the Lakers with Magic Johnson and it was actually the Bulls' first finals appearance where their team wasn't as complete as the next few years. Jordan was going to be the best scorer on the floor every single night, but sometimes his scoring wouldn't be as much of an impact as what his opponent was doing like defending, distributing the ball or rebounding. Oh, he left his prime alright. 2nd 3-peat MJ wasn't nearly as explosive as 80's/early 90s MJ. And that was CLEARLY evident. What he was during those seasons, however, was more mentally sharp/methodical. He learned how to pick spots and carve up defenses with geometrical precision. There was no wasted movement whatsoever. He only tried to exert his physical prowess in spurts, instead of going all out, all game.

@@natedablack7857 yea pretty obvious decline in athleticism for those who observed his entire career. but his fundamental had never left him all the way til he finally retired. during 96 he was quite a bit slower than 89-93 self, but still probably the top 3 in speed and quickness in the sg position during 96-98. his finesse in layups had declined quite a bit since he started lifting weight. he used to do really crazy shit ( like double/triple clutch jump shot or insane hang-time layups with multiple adjustments in the air) in regular basis up until maybe 91 when he started to bulk up. still from 91-98 he probably had more quality acrobatic layup highlights than lebron will have in his entire career when lebron retires. but with that said, he was still being able to super explosive in 98 season. one of the examples i still remember is how he blew pass a young allen houston in his last game as a bulls against ny, when there were about 8ft distance between the two of them while jordan was standing still facing a defensive ready houston. he took off to his left and completely drove pass houston like he wasn't even there. i havent seen lebron or kobe being that quick when they were 33. the difference is that jordan was not only able to put his head down following his first step dribbles with his big hand, but he was also moving his feet far better at old age compared to the so-called super stars of today. he was able to go around someone with quickness instead of bulldozing his way into the defender's body.

I'd say that MJ was his most dangerous at age 33-35. He knew when to take his foot of the gas and when to put the peddle to the floor and knew exactly where to be and what to do and had complete trust in his teammates. Kobe learned that very late in his career and looks like Lebron will never learn.

Jordan without Pippen in his career was 1-9 in playoff games and under .500 for his regular season career. One could say the evidence shows that in order to be this greatest winner you're claiming him to be he would have had to either benefit from playing in an incredibly weak era (he did) or he would have had to have been surrounded by a stacked team. (He was, mutiple hall of famers, almost won it all without Jordan, deep team hall of fame coaching.) MJ didn't play 6 seasons. The other years he was busy losing repeatedly in the first round of the playoffs (When other teams were actually good before the expansion weakened the league.) or missing the playoffs altogether.
