not if they cannot access your network... sheesh man.. they cannot access it if they cannot find it... pay for a GOOD SECURE wireless router, one that used hardware encryption so forth, like a "TP-Link Archer C5400 v2" GET SECURE!!!! your service provider is going to offer the worst slowest most insecure router on the market FFS
i have a bad neighbor that keeps hacking into mine when i leave home and turning my camera off or putting motion detection on low and i now retired so what he is doing now , is trying to turn my internet off and he even been raising hell and trying to get me to remove the cameras..
Turn on MAC filtering. I am sure someone got into my camera recently. The light would turn on my camera when I walked into the room but it would shut right off. However, nothing is supposed to turn on if everything is disarmed. So, I finally did MAC filtering and only allow certain MAC addresses to get into my router/modem. Now, the camera has stopped flashing randomly and my connection is better.
@@h3ll0_2 its mainly young people , and in my case it was some young guys from India , i was wondering why they was not in their country walking elephants..
@Mz Thompsun Thanks they moved but some new ones moved in that has a Jamming device to turn my remote controlled devices off when i turn them on . not that i bother anyone but they are young people and they are evil...
This is great info! While I consider myself fairly PC savvy, I dont know enough about how hackers break into our wifi systems etc. I know enough to use a VPN but not enough about that to consider my wifi safe or any other of my connected devices. This is something I want to learn much more about, I'm retired and have the time, need to find a great starting point and your video got me really interested in it. Thanks for posting it!

When trying to educate myself through either youtube or google there are so many options it's hard to decide which is best, your advice gives me a starting point I can have faith in! Hey I got hacked. my ring camera in my room turns on in the night even if the inactivated mode is on. Normally I can see the course in the app if the camera turned on and normally I can't use the live option when I turn the camera in inactive mode. Nonetheless the camera turn on and no traces are left in the app. Wtf can I do?
I'm not sure you got hacked. Make sure you change your password. Contact RING and ask if it's normal for it to do that under your circumstances to be sure. Also, update to the latest firmware from their site.
Same! It would flash on and right back off, but nonetheless it would flash when in disarmed mode. It detected motion, which it shouldn't when disarmed. I logged into my modem/router, searched for what was connected to my Wi-Fi and I honestly found two things that did not look familiar. One didn't even have a host name. It was just blank. And it was using a lot of Mpbs. So, I wrote down the MAC addresses of the devices I have and only enabled them to connect; it worked like a charm. I also turned on the ipv6 filter. No more light coming on when I enter the room and no more super slow internet or cameras acting weird.
