"I'm busy trying to keep these people alive." As the father of a 19 y/o girl halfway through her freshman year of college, who raised her solo...as her mom passed from leukemia when she was 3...I felt that in my bones. When it all comes down to it, that's what raising a child is. Trying to keep this tiny little human alive until they can fend for themselves. And even when they can, you still do what you can to keep them strong. Or at least that's what the parents who actually give a damn do.
