I had my pc on all night to get a spot. Literally my steam profile says I have played the game for 40+ hours but I’ve only controlled my player for like 3 to 4 hours of that time.
The game sucks, broken mechanics, nerfed weapons, out of control spawns did I mention none of the weapons are effective or fun to use. Why devs, why? They have done everything to make this game a miserable experience. One touch from a bile spewer kills you instantly

It's a great game but holy shit it is 100% extremely repetitive. Same missions over and over and over and over again. I still play a couple times a week but it just gets old.
The game is fun but HOW are people so overhyped for this? It's literally just a modern firefight/horde mode with no campaign or even pvp, AND it's live service only. When did people become so desperate for a fun game that they settle for a very barebones game? This type of thing used to be one gamemode in games full with content that you could play offline.
Just not being scammed is the holy grail nowadays. 40 dollars game ? Fun gameplay ? No milking of the player ? And looking at the company actions, you can be sure they’ll find a way to make it available for ever Like game being hosted by players etc
@@jhnyjoejoe69dude if you prefer single player story mode games then this is just a difference in taste. lots of people enjoy games like Helldivers 2 because it’s not only a team based game (so why would pvp even be necessary? The point of the game isn’t pvp) but it’s also a collaborative storytelling experience. If you wanna be the main character that’s fine, but that’s not the point of Helldivers. Even the devs said a game for everyone is a game for no one. It’s basically a playable social platform. It doesn’t need a story because everyone is making their own, and thematically, being the main character in a solo story mode would take away a huge amount of the core idea behind the game. You’re a Helldiver, not a Spartan. You’re not actually a special and elite war hero, you’re a guy with 5 minutes of training who’s about to die and be replaced immediately by the next guy. For an effective solo campaign you’d need a protagonist, and the very nature of Helldivers makes it impossible to be the one playing as said protagonist. Idk, maybe one day they’ll add a solo “campaign” that’s fighting through bugs and bots but then it turns out it’s a propaganda filming or something, following 1 Helldiver through set up situations to release a propaganda film to the masses featuring “real” military ops. Who knows. But the current point of the game is to have fun with other people, socialize, and spread democracy. Like there’s no real reason to sit here and say we’re getting a bare bones game, we’re really not (and it’s still being updated and content is being added)? and nothing is wrong with a live-service game that can be played (after buying) completely free and you can still get premium content, it’s not even difficult to. Even premium war bonds give you super credits so you can buy other ones later. This is entirely a you thing and not an everyone else thing haha lol and there’s really no need to rain on everyone’s parade by going “erm, well, it doesn’t have a single player which I prefer therefore it’s too different for me and idk why anyone likes it this much at all.” Also you’re LITERALLY calling people fools like lol caaalm down bestie it’s not that serious. It’ll have more variety in the game. Just not the kind you’ll appreciate.
I'm a huge gamer. I nearly play everything, but Helldivers 2 just doesn't do it for me... - Something about the gameplay feels clunky. Especially traversal and dodging. The gunplay is fine but not good enough to carry the gameloop. - There's almost no enemy variety (the ones in this video are basically all of them) - The missions are very repetitive and somehow I don't feel like there's a point to anything I do in the game. Whether it's killing an enemy, leveling up, destroying a camp, looting, finishing a mission, unlocking new gear...Everything feels pointless somehow. There are also a lot of great things about the game, where I feel they a breaking new grounds but it's sadly not enough to keep coming back to...
No enemy variety? Dude there are flying bugs, bugs that throw up on you, bugs that launch artillery goo at you, bugs that jump really far, bugs that go invisible, bugs that charge you like rhinos, and probably more stuff that’ll be added in the future. And don’t get me started on the bots.
I honestly think that the movement is dogshit and could be improved a lot. I feel like im stuck to the ground, The friction on the slide is too high, the recovery time on the Dive is too high, the stamina is too low and the HP too high, there are no ways to transverse the terrain fast so If your teammate is in narnia and you wanna get your stuff back or get the samples you take a long ass time. Aiming feels impaired as the main crosshair obstructs my vision and is completely unaligned with the laser and their respective dot which is accurate, making the main crosshair completely useless, thankfully there is first person aiming. Aiming in third person is very slidey, having acceleration (despite Acceleration being turned off), again, on First person is not present, making feel a very dispair sensibility when ADS and not, throwing my aim off. I had more fun suiciding myself and doing Team kill than actually doing the objective. The Arrow mechanism was fun, and the effects decent. But if in the base the game does I wish i could just cheat to remove the grind, and make the game faster, and/or finally get the Recon armor.
No just majority of the kids/idiots now have 30 sec attention spans and they all want their participation trophy so they feel a small amount of accomplishment that means fk all. Aka all the idiots. Feel free to catorgorize yourself.

I’ve been playing since launch and I have not once gotten bored of this game. To say other games aren’t repetitive and this game is, is just crazy to me. There are so many different mission types, each mission will typically have more or less amounts of specific enemies to change up your gameplay, the many different side objectives available, and even all the different weapons are fun to use and change up despite the nerfs(which get blown out of proportion in my opinion) Meanwhile games like COD basically just release the same game over and over, only each time it gets a little worse.
After playing Helldivers for over 16 hours now, I can say without a doubt it has become boring. The same missions over and over, rinse repeat scenarios, and lack of progression unlocks just makes thus game tedious and tiring.
Honestly, the recent updates were terrible and I'm starting to not enjoy it. The mission debrief is imho too long. The netcode is horrible, full lobbies appearing with one person and you only "Unable to connect", lobby has a spot but you still get "unable to connect" because the game updates the lobby status whenver it decides. Collisions are so frustrating, charger climbing a cliff to reach you, or sometimes bumps in to a small rock. Hunters pounces have been granted a homing perk to always headshot you even if you jumpack away to the moon. The amount of heavy units is not problem, unless you NERF THE WEAPONS THAT ALLOWS US TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. I love the theme, I love Starship Troopers, but all the lore hides both the questionable balance mechanics and outdated engine the game is developped on, and it shows.
The fact I can't play this game just makes me want a PC more desperately. I love high octane, high difficulty coop games and this fits the bill perfectly.

@@spamartist9443 I think when GameGuard flashes a fatal error code when I boot up Helldivers 2. I think thats a Gameguard problem. This is with disabling all firewalls and running all parts in admin
The Devs are having the best of problems, a problem of riches. The first Helldivers game had maybe 20000 people max, it was a wonderful, but very niche game. The Devs realistically expected 50 to 60k players at any time and designed the server capacity and systems around this initial load. They where caught completely of guard, when they have nearly a million players wanting to all play the game at the same time and have been basically working to increase server capacity for the past 2 weeks and they are still short on their demand. In a few weeks, when the hype dies down, the population will be more manageable, but right now they are playing catch up to a number of concurrent players they only hoped in their wildest dreams. In this sense their wildest dreams came true, but it brought with it the nightmare of not being able to service everyone because they are dealing with pie in the sky numbers for a game that was designed for a more reasonable and significantly lower population count.
Give it a go now. They've done a lot to improve server stability and access. They also introduced AFK kick timer. My experience over the last day has been great in terms of getting in and matchmacking
@@ChilledUnskilled the servers are still absolutely horrendous, and every major update is breaking the game. There's still only 3 sidearms, and really only 3 or 4 good primary weapons. They made the endgame players all reduce the difficulty they play at, pr force you to sneak to win. Sneaking. You see this gameplay? Action packed, amazing, cool... yea no.. you gotta sneak around. It's NOW a walking simulator.
@@tomguglielmo9805 I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not having the issues you are. The last patch I've had a load more crashes though, which is very annoying. I'm not a fan of the nerfs either but I've still been able to clear 7 and 8 difficulty in a duo with a friend, with no more (or less) stealth/avoidance. Definitely with more frustration though. We weren't playing on 9 before so no drop in difficulty for us yet though we did and still do avoid certain mission types that are in desperate need of a balance pass imo. Maybe put the game down for a while, let it simmer. Can always come back in a month to check it out again.
I'm skeptical of this game because from the gameplay videos I've watched, the bugs doesn't seem much of a threat. Unlike in Starshiptroopers Extermination, the bugs there will kill you, usually with only 1 strike. even if there are 16 players in your team, you will still die. Overall I've decided that the Starshiptroopers game has a much richer bug killing experience than Helldivers 2.
Oh trust me. On something higher than hard they WILL fuck you up. Fuck stalkers they are insane. And bile titans are fucking terrifying when they show up in a huge wave of enemies
I genuinely get tired asf playing this game… it just such a pointless game, nothing cool to grind for, so you just blow sh* up and extract EVERY MISSION… like wtf is the point 😂😂 (The game is a cool idea, and I do hope it thrives soon, but atm I’d rather play like any other shooter 🤷♂️)

Don't buy the game. After 100 hours that I myself played, its unplayable with crashes or early day server problems. If you would have bought it you would have endured its addictive fun nature of a well made game itself. Which scares away all the "its an alpha" trolls plaguing modern gaming. With a fully released chad game like helldivers2 its scary what a complete yet supported game can be! Avoid at all cost.
Helldivers 2 is SECRET EARLY ACCESS!!! Think about it, we only have 2 races to fight out of 3 from the original. Game is riddled with crashes and bugs at the moment. We have so much content that feel essential not included in the game like vehicles and encyclopedia (that existed in the original) they have done a clever way of drip feeding us "new content" that's really just things that should have been here from the start, and woven it into the narrative as a "progressive experience". Hey, I love it and think it's GREAT (except that it's unplayable at times with all the crashing) But isn't it a little cheesy like this at the same time?
Man, last comment about friends is so untrue. My mates want to play Csgo and didn't want to even buy pve game. I said fuck it, I bought it and in 2 days I've got 7 in game helldiver friends to fight for Freedom with. Just communicate, laugh, talk and enjoy. Game is amazing. I salute You, fellow Helldivers. Its a fun game, but its basically just Deep Rock Galactic, with better bug AI, but worse core combat. That set aside, if any of you enjoy Helldivers 2, you would also enjoy DRG
It is pretty boring after about 10 minutes. Glad others are enjoying it but I found it to just be a function of the friend group you have more than the actual game. I’ve got great friends but nobody has time to play the same map over and over (sure there are different weather effects but that’s about it). It is slightly more enjoyable after playing long enough to figure out which keybinds are dragging you down (many, in my case). This is a huge success story as far as level of dev effort to sales though: it’d be hard to make a co-op shooter with fewer actual features in 2024 without people going “wait… this is just the same shit over and over”
except for the fact none of these reviews show the reason why the game actually sucks: 90% of all stratagems are weak or useless (the other 10% like the quasar cannon, autocannon, EAT-17, 500 kg bomb and orbital lazer are super op) you dont need skill to play this game, which is why you will always see everyone using the same stratagems and guns
I do have some legitimate gripes with this game. -no jumping -no radar -no grenade button -no cover system -no camera shoulder swap -weapons behind a paywall in a game thats not free2play
Are you being serious or just taking the piss? Cuz almost all of those things are in the game. Jump Pack allows you to jump, albeit somewhat limitedly but it's still an option. Enemies show up on the map when you are looking at it as little red dots. If you are saying that grenades should just be a button press to throw with our changing your weapon might I suggest the grenade launcher. I agree that there is no cover system, but why would you want to hide behind something like a coward? There is a camera shoulder swap in the game, nothing more need be said except that you can set to be either toggle or hold. Aside from intially buying the game, you don't have to spend a single dollar more for any of the weapons or armour. So I have no idea what you're talking about on any of these 'issues'.
@anonlemming9977 really?, didnt know about the jump pack or the shoulder swap, I'll look into it. Regarding the radar, yea i don't want to be looking at the map when i got 30 enemies rushing at me. I just dont like enemies spawning behind me randomly and i only learn of it when i get a sword impaled in my back. And cover system my gripe is if you're hiding behind cover, you have to expose your entire body in order to attack because you can't peek the corner. So you have to get shot to shoot.

I've played numerous hours to say I think the games good, but the game isn't built with PC players in mind. The aiming mechanics is something that should be frowned upon. Essentially no matter the platform you're having to rely upon aim assist, the crosshairs in FPS mode aren't cantered. You can use the weighted argument of weapons needing certain time to drag their aim over to a point, but I'd argue this is something that is beyond exaggerated and there are people in that dev group who have handled weapons. Perhaps not handled them at an experience level.
Shit game. There are nukes scattered around the map for you to blow things up with, a huge variety of weapons to use and hoards of bugs to mow down. Absolutely unplayable.
The games actually horrendously optimized the server stability is atrocious, even after a "sufficient upgrade" and you can't even play 5 games without damn near 3 crashes. Yup, the game is beautiful, gameplay is fun! There's 3 sidearms in total, and the mech content was cut, and is now being almost threatened to not appear if we don't play this game and liberate the planet, that apparently crashes almost every 30 minutes or so.
Yes how dare they make getting new stuff interesting, interactive, and community driven instead of just getting added in an update and bought in the shop

I'm not going to lie, when the game came out, I was like, "I another Halo/Fortnite want it be shooter, pass" But the more videos I've seen and funny commentaries, I'm now a patriot to democracy lol. Additionally, I'm also a level 17 Master Sergeant after 3 days of grinding. It was all worth it lol.
This game is so overrated. All you do is go down to a planet, shoot some bugs, unlock new weapons through yet another generic battle pass, rinse and repeat. Ran stale for me after an hour
I bought it but it's not worth 40 bucks. Would be a great f2p title, but the gameloop itself is dogshit, you're essentially doing the same mission over and over and over and over again. No real progression and that's about it.
Not gonna lie, you had me at the first part my guy, lol. But seriously, this game is wildly fun! I am just having bad server issues and can't seem to connect steadily when trying to get on. It is rough right now. Also, no friends to play? Well, just like in the good old times on xbox, you played with randoms and made friends like that. I know some of you became best friends in IRL. Not saying that this will happen again but quickplay in this game and start liberating as a team!
It's a pure load of shit , the fact you can get kicked at the end of a mission or even half way thru after sitting wasting 20 minutes of your life your never getting back for no reward after paying for the privilege of getting 6 to 8 medals an hour to unkock they gayest of emotes .... its for kids like most games these days

you know you can have friends.. and still dont have any friends to play with right ?..maybe they find the game boring or dont play games.... but i agree unless you have like 3-4 friends to play with, this game gets repetitive extremely fast. its abit overhyped if you ask me.. its a good game. but i hoped to put in more time before it got boring..

This game actually is overrated. Also has a toxic community that's probably only going to get worse. But hey thanks for the friendly fire I love trusting randoms to not shoot me and not respawn me. Or getting kicked for not having meta equipment.
