I believe we got an “in show” explanation already about Vecna’s powers, even though it wasn’t direct. We had a scene where Hopper was talking about how he blamed his daughters sickness and death on the experiments done on him while in the military. It made me wonder why they decided to include this specific detail. We also know Vecna’s father was also in the military. I think the best and only explanation we are going to get is that the experiments done on Vecna’s father had the unforeseen results of giving him powers, similar to how military experiments on Hopper might have cause his daughter’s death.

Yes it is. That is what the project MKultra does actually. They round up pregnant women and do test on them introducing Henry’s DNA to the fetus. That’s how eleven got her powers and that’s how her mother has some sort of powers cause she gave birth to her so the blood connection. Henry and Eleven shares a sort of kinship so does the other kids but Henry developed an affection towards El cause she was bullied and isolated all the time etc so he did see a similarity between them and he wanted to have El by his side. That was pretty much told in the series.

Vecna in the board game was a Lich-King who was a wizard who sought immortality by turning himself into an undead creature. He is the evil god of secrets and can see those in everybody in the real realm. Also, he is known as a deal maker, and it can very possibly mean he made a deal with the mindflayer. The issue is if the writers follow this description than Vecna also has a Phylactery, also called a Horcrux. This is something that binds Vecna to the real world. It is either the clock or Will but either way it must be destroyed to defeat Vecna.

So They for sure have something in commun (they also look like they are in the same Age). I'll have to rewatch but there were some other psychic kids that Eleven met but apparently all the kids in the lab had died because there wasn't an exit. Which would lend better to the idea that they were working on different drugs that can give powers and maybe some of those trials had later results or not the results they wanted. I don't remember but either way it works because they never explicitly show the audience that they extracted blood or samples from Henry in order to make psychics. I still believe they require a mother for some part of the process because otherwise.. why not just take in orphaned kids? Why kidnap kids from their parents like Eleven? There are just a lot of issues with the idea that they just used Henry to produce more psychics. I'm almost sure they were testing a series of drugs and it requires a mother.

You're right about Henry showing her to tap emotions, but the edge she has over him, is that he can only tap anger, whereas she can also tap into love and positive things to live and strive for.

I agree with this! I feel like there could've been multiple ways Terry got pregnant though. The love affair is plausible, but Brenner could've used a form of artificial insemination or IVF while she was undergoing the experiments and under the influence of something, hence why she never knew she was pregnant and no one ever mentioned a potential father, not even her aunt Becky. I'm sure he wanted to know what a biological child of Henry's would be capable of. 1, and 11. He also seemed to favor her in the lab and when she refused to join him he had a hard time killing her while he could snap everyone else's bones in seconds. I felt similar about him in Vol. 2 even as Vecna. Just seemed like he was reluctant to kill her, he was stalling despite all the opportunities he had to take her supercharged powers for himself. There's definitely still an emotional connection there and I hope they'll explore that in season 5!

eleven wasnt some random child. she was powerful. powerful than all the in the lab. she was also out of place. henry maybe related with her and felt that she would too want to walk in his footsteps of trying to bring back the world in its natural form. the most obvious reason is that shes powerful so she could help him in his plans, but henry is a psycopath. eleven is not. he chose her out of other children because everybody loved papa. he revealed to her the lies of brenner so that she could free him. also, she freed him. he told her to rule by his side after he killed everybody (not a random child). maybe he thought she would go along with it. ofc this is just my theory. excited for season 5

He was already a head in a laboratory which was a department of energy right. So he was probably in touch with any story that come up in Hawkins some supernatural sort of stuff especially demons. Or……..they’ll revisit the history once in S5 to understand how to beat vecna by understanding how his powers came since we already know how El got hers, and will know for sure 😄

I think it's because One can only draw his powers from negative energy while Eleven can draw from all of her emotions. Vecna also defeated eleven pretty easily and once was only beaten due to getting caught off guard and being attacked from multiple places(remember any damage the Demogorgons feel so does he)

I think it's Virginia that was in a program with Brenner. The guy who made this video says she wasn't, but that doesn't add up. how else would she have known Brenner? Henry / Vecna says that he had already been trying to escape Brenner prior to killing his mother, but then woke from his coma to find himself in Brenner's control. That might also be the 'terrible thing' that Henry held against his mother, which he never shows us. We did get to see what the 'terrible thing' was in Victor's case, but not for Virginia.

I still believe the Mind Flayer orchestrated this… think back to the particles found in the Russian prison. They were already alive and they had demogorgans all encased in glass containers (as well as letting the demogorgans kill spies and prisoners for their own fun, they’ve known about these creatures for years) …Much like how henry stores his spiders 🕷 as his powers grow in those flash backs as a kid… foreshadowing the mind flayer (I’ll come back to this after a few critical questions) 1. Where did the Russians get the mind flayer particles 2. How long have Russians had them. 3. Why did this never get answered at all this season? It was never explained or even mentioned once after. Why? Because this season WAS a red herring… a distraction from the plot to keep us looking away… immediately it jumped to another topic taking away our focus from a huge piece of the puzzle. If the Russians have had the particles for years and have known about the demogorgans and them being superior beings, there must have been some event where the mind flayer entered into their dimension and released a piece of itself that spread (possibly across the world). This would also potentially explain the spiders leading back to my original point. Henry much like will always was sensitive and awkward but once the mind flayer entered will he began seeing pictures, strange things started happening, he was being influenced and used etc. Henry began on a fresh start in Hawkins (the place of all these major events years in the future) where he encountered the “spiders” that would change the course of his character, he began developing his powers, and using his abilities etc. he viewed the spiders as apex super predictors or gods… could it be possible that the spiders might have actually been they both began puppets (in a sense) for the mind flayer? As I mentioned he stored the spiders in glass jars, the upside down creatures and the mind flayer particles were also in glass containers in Russia… potentially symbolizing the mind flayer. Then we see Henry drawing photos of the mind flayer and it was inspired by his fascination with spiders”. The spiders could have infected him with particles and he became linked to the upside down. All for a greater plan. Call it destiny or fate. It might have been the mind flayer a plan all along. A cosmic being that consumes dimensions probably has a highly intelligent mind to lead his followers to him

The flayer couldn’t have contacted Henry. The ending of season 4 confirmed that the mind flayer was created by Henry when he arrived to the upside down.

@@mattreigada3745 I think people have the arrow of causality backwards. I don’t think Henry drawing the spider and shaping the spider out of the cloud of particles is Vecna making the Mindflayer. I think this is a red herring and the arrow of causality goes the other way. The Mindflayers seduced Henry. Heck, Henry even draws the exact same spider picture as Will. I think this is another hint that the Mindflayers are behind this.

If you'd payed attention you'd know when he said "awful things", he referred to the things that he made them see. E.g: His father ordered the destruction of what he thought was a German hide out, but it wasn't. In fact, there was a baby inside the hide out that set on fire and burnt to death. Henry found that out, held a grudge against his father for that and made him see that.

Hopper wasn’t “experimented upon.” Hopper worked in the US Army Chemical Corps, mixing “Agent Orange”. It was exposure. This is all based in fact, and they implemented this into the show. Agent Orange is a devastating chemical. It causes cancer and genetic mutations. Not only does it happen in the person exposed, but their children, and we have found out recently that Grandchildren have the genetic mutations. Agent Orange can also cause no symptoms in the person exposed, but the kids or grandkids can still have it. Hopper’s daughter had cancer derived from Agent Orange. I have worked with a ton of Vietnam Vets, and many of them had similar situations to Hopper. It’s truly sad.

I think Vecna can heal himself because he "fused" with the mind flayer in the upside down, and won some new abilities, you can see he's totally different comparing to his human form. But that's a valid hypothesis, since Eleven made to heal Max in some way, we're still not sure if she used telekinesis to make her heart beat again or maybe we saw her new power.

No, Dr.Brenner injected Jane's Mother with blood of Henry Creel-001 under the MKUltra Project. It also explains why Kali-008 got her powers but she was born in England and her mother was too in the project.

Yeah either that or since his father(victor creel) was back from war and like hopper explained some kind of chemical they used in war might have passed on to the child via sperm. Sarah died of cancer but who knows henry got super powers instead of cancer.

@@rashmirathnayake_ The timeline would not add up. The chemical Hopper was exposed to was agent orange. Victor Creel fought in WW2, but agent orange wasn't used until the Vietnam war which was in 1955, 8 years after Henry was born.

I mean hopper said they used chemicals in war so could it be they used some chemicals (not agent orange specifically) in WW2 so victor was exposed to. There is possibility that Henry's powers could resulted with dimensional micro portals that was opened causing some of the essence of the Shadow Particles to absorbed into parents. When Henry Creel was born, he has the powers.

This is exactly why I think that Upside Down and potentialy Mindflayer was involved in Creel getting powers. Mindflayer is like virus spreading through mutliverse. It attacks by infecting somebody with powers like Creel who is psychopath who will then help hivemind take over the wordl. Its little too convenient that Creel was yeeted by Ileven into the Upside Down when he also conveniently find the measn for the potential. Mindflayer cant conquer worlds on its own so its uses agents like Vecna. It could take Spider form only to appeal Henry not that it had to. They are buisness partners. So yeah Vecna could have been behind all the events in Stranger Things uptil now and causing the events, but he is still working for benefit of Hivemind which will now absorb another world thanks to gate opening. It was intentionaly left ambigious what exactly Henry did to the mindflayer. And its also reason why only psychopath like Henry got powers. Mindflayer needs people willing to work with him. (There where other powers of interest to Dr.Brenner prior to Henry) Before Henry was taken by Brenner at age 12. Victor Creel was charged with the murders in the Spring of 1959. The show is only set in the early 1980s… Vecna is Nearly 70 years old they say. He was about 32 when he was sent into the upside down. Victor Creel who should be way older, is still alive. Maybe (obviously) Vecna is using his powers to prevent the aging of the two. Possibly to use his father again in later episodes as the blame for what he has already been convicted of…Nobody has seen Vecna on the real world surface yet only in hallucinations.
