I vaugely remember on the Sushi-go-round game that it was possible to ingest a 'wasabi roll' that would cause a player who ingests it to run around out of control It was also the lowest price item and you could push the AI into eating it for cheap wins.
i think that's tea, hot piping tea that goes well with eating japanese dish but really really hot, like noone in their right mind would dip their tongue in it like that kind of hot, like not only is it prepared with just hot water the ceramic cup that it is served in traps the heat so it stays hot for a long time kind of hot
@@wilsonweiseng6485 Nope, the green tea turns the Lickitung green and makes it shudder and stick its tongue out in disgust because it's bitter. There's a sushi roll with wasabi in it that turns the Lickitung red and makes it go "EEP!!!" and run around in a panic because it's too spicy for it.
I did not even know you are supposed to stack same food, I was just eating whatever upper-value food that appeared with little thinking and kept waiting for higher value food to apper (if there is no one) to minimum and I would usually win, normal difficulty. Worst thing is when you miss the food by like 1 cm. When orange appears I immediately go after it
@@loulou3676 Did you notice some Pokemon in Pokemon stadium have their shiney colors even though the game never says anything. so they kinda existed but not officially
@@Gryphonzwing they aren't Shinies Pokemon in Stadium could have several different colors according to what names you gave to them It's pretty much a coincidence that some Pokemon had same colors as a Shiny
"Hey guys, I'm SkoottieTV I'm probably the best Pokemon Stadium Kid's Club player in the world, and this is my 151st attempt at Who's the best, on Hyper mode"
These mini games bring such fondness yet extreme frustration to win at Looking at you Hypno, Ekans and Clefairy Clefairy mini game always makes me laugh and breaks my concentration
@@JustJulyo I honestly didn't know how the game is supposed to be played as the game is not in English so I just randomly pressed A or most of the time I didn't even bother as I knew I won't win.
I wish I still had Pokemon Stadium. As a dumb kid, when I got Stadium 2, I assumed there would be no reason to keep the first, since it was a direct upgrade... The number of games I sold and want to buy back now, but they've quadrupled in price... True pain.
I have no idea how much they cost but I have the original gauntlet legends, pokemon snap, pokemon stadium, turok the dinosaur hunter, and a few other games that are mint condition since I barely played the N64 as a kid and have just kept them on a display shelf as an adult. (I played the GameCube mostly)
Not only was this incredibly educational but yall really tickled my nostalgia. As someone who played a lot of stadium minigames I'd shudder to even consider stepping up to you. Good strats!
@@tiberiusfemur374 It was laggy when it was new lol. The n64 could only handle so much. If you wanna see some crazy lag, go to Zelda Ocarina of Time in a room with a lot of stuff going on (I recommend the Shadow Temple). The frame rate will slow so much you could almost count it lol
Yeah not every system was great at running its own programs. Lol but I would say n64 does better than most emulation but parallel and other options have made n64 a lot better at emulation. I’d say a good example is 3ds which seems to have shader studders even on the latest android phones (it’s a lot better tho now) and decent pcs. I guess you need a actual 3ds to get good performance from 3ds games. Although I’ve heard Pokémon games 3 on 3 battles and other things lagging on real hardware too
I remember that you can just use the second controller port so you can play as player 2 in these minigames against the three computers, which at ekans should give you an advantage
A lot of the N64 games were rigged to hell and back. I legit gave up on one of them because there was no way of sanely defeating the end trainers when they had teams that could one shot any of your pokemon regardless of the type, and they often were allowed to go first, had near 100% CC chances, and a rigged hit/miss ratio in their favour.
There were a lot of weird rulings that unreasonably favored the computer trainers too. I remember they could only have one Pokemon afflicted by a given status condition at a time, so if you land a toxic and they switch the poisoned 'Mon out, all other toxics would just inexplicably miss/fail.
5:04 Funnily enough, shiny's weren't introduced until Gen II so this appearance of an alt colored Diglett raises a question of is a "shiny" something specific or is it literally any instance of an alt colored Pokèmon lol?
It’s something specific. The opposing Pokémon in other game modes have several nonstandard shadings and colorations which are reflected in the weird nicknames the Pokémon have.
The funniest things about these mini-games is that in my friend group, everyone was a goddamn king on atleast one of them. The only game none of us could beat consistently was the sushi mini-game
For dig dig dig, if you hold the controller a certain way, you can basically just clench your muscles and use the spasms to push the bumpers at an unhuman rate. My brother and I did it all the time.
Snore Wars was always the hardest for me. The sound of the pendulum would always get muffled by the snores, and I swear, it didn't match up with the arrow, even on original hardware.
Holy crap, you just unlocked a memory of mine that i had totally forgotten, I used to play Pokemon stadium all the time on the N64 with my friend, it was a super fun game, I'd definitely play it again if I could
Great work beating those mini-games, I remember these being extremely hard when I was young and I never knew about hyper difficulty until now! I wonder if someone can make a TAS for the dynamo mini-game, (well not a speedrun) or I'll word it better - make it automatically mash a button you select for an easier time.
bro ive been watching skootie stream now for like 6 months and this just popped up for me to watch lol I used to fuck these mini games UP in stadium all the time i remember every single one of these games. this just unlocked a memory for me i totally forgot about and im glad Skoot was the one to bring it back to me 😂
dude i remember playing pokemon stadium on my brothers N64! its been so long since ive thought about how hard the games were, its good to see them again though :D
I loved this game so much!! Our n64 and games were accidentally sold at a garage sale a few years back, I still miss this game to this day 😢 I never lost the muscle memory for these minigames haha
Today I actually beat Thundering Dynamo on Hyper difficulty, I don't have a video, but I DO have a photo I took that I'm willing to share, I just don't know how or where to do so Obviously a photo doesn't prove I didnt use a turbo controller or a TAS or something or that I didn't edit the photo, but if you can take my word on it, I did it on official hardware with a standard N64 controller, and the photo shows my victory in Thundering Dynamo and that it is on Hyper Mode (and I'm just as surprised as anyone else that I managed to do it) I've been trying to beat every minigame in Hyper mode and the only one I just can't seem to do is Run Rattata Run, every one of the others I've done at least once
Never even unlocked this as a kid. Did unlock yhe 6th difficulty if pokemon puzzle league though. Remember never beating mewtwo in that. Even though I got gary down pretty well 😅
I remember all I had when I was a kid was Pokémon stadium and Mario kart for the n64. With 3 sisters you can bet we played hours upon hours of the mini games, I remember mostly winning on rattata, ekans, magikarp and maybe metapod. Don’t remember beating the voltorb mini game in hyper tho
I'd disagree on that, The first Ranger game was the first Pokemon game I finished in two days without ever whiting out/losing a fight. But then I was used to frantic circling on the DS (thanks, Poffin baking and Star Fox Command) so I might have had a wee advantage on speedrunning captures.
oh no thundering dynamo on hyper is very much possible.. I remember beating it *ONCE* as a kid. this mini game is self is why i got so good a taping on mario party games which mad it unfun for my family members to play vs me.. they used to get so mad and unplug my controller but then i still win half the time lol. If my old n64 would still work id boot it up and give that shit a go again..
I used to play this all the time as a kid and have beat all the minigames in Hyper difficulty. The Magikarp one is fairly easy since I have the rhythm down. Clefairy one is easy as it's just memorisation. Run rattata run can be hard to win but you just need to be really consistent when mashing and endure the pain. I used to be amazing at Snore war when I was younger and would perfect it every time, not as consistent nowadays but can still do it. I have only beat thundering dynamo 2-3 times in my life on hyper lol I do have one recorded but it's just gameplay footage. Sushi go round can be hit or miss but I usually go for the mid-high combos. Rock harden is easy once you have a feel for it. Ekans hoop hurl is hit or miss depending on how often your targets get sniped and as you say, dig dig dig is by far the easiest haha
As a kid i played these games for months. Thundering dynamo can be beat but the odds are lower than a full odds shiney with perfect ivs. Theres actualy a set pattern to the color switches that you can learn. If you guess the set correctly it removes the cpus advantage. The main issue with thundering dynamo is the hardware. The physical controller cant register button presses fast enough to outoace the cpu. However some periphreals and third party controllers can register inputs much faster. (Side note these make dig dig and rattata race unlosable even on hyper difficulty). Now if you feel like thats cheating, every now and then the cpus on hyper mode will throw. You can try over and over again until all three throw giving you the win. However without the changed hardware or the random cpus, winning is impossible.
The buttons can register 30 presses per second. Even world record button pressers aren't going to be held back by that. But for the sake of your thumbs and the controller, yeah, would recommend a rapid fire controller.
I’ve beaten hyper mode as a kid but only bc I was obsessed as child to beat the whole game …but I do it in all game it’s like zone like be hard af so I can beat you …this shit was harder than mewtwo the second time
I played these when I was really little and j completely misunderstood the drowzee one, I thought you had to press the button when it swung in your direction and I hated how it never seemed to work
