You, Steve and Misha, helped me to get through a bad period of my own and in the end, inspired me to buy my first rig which I got in July last year, effectively making me discover a hobby that I've wholeheartedly fallen in love with. In the end, whichever path you choose we'll be here, watching your content and witnessing you bloom doing the very thing you love.

But the real reason I’m there is because of how “real” Jimmy is. No where else have I found anyone who can drive to his level, while simultaneously describing what he’s doing, reading chats, and replying! Not generally winning races, but winning SOME, but never whining about it! We all knew why you were invited to LeMans in 2020, because they NEEDED YOU! You helped keep that race solvent! It is really weird to remember that I've been around here since the beginning. I remember the GT3 stream. I used to watch you at work while I was doing graphics. Now I watch you own on a real race track while mopping my floor with my son as a stay at home dad. Youve come so far Jimmy, You've been a huge part of my life, and were my introduction to sim racing. I remember being so obsessed, my friend bought me my first wheel and I broke down crying. I owe my love of this world to you. Thank you Jimmy, I'm so proud of you!
I'm not a racing driver nor am I a sim racer (I'm more like an enthusiast, because I never had the funds to pursue that hobby), so for like 40% of why I watch you is more to have a great time, have a laugh and just be entertained, honestly. But that 60% of why I watch you Jimmy and have been following you for almost 8 years now is to see how much you've grown. Especially since I saw those yearly videos reflecting on what happened in the year that passed and, of course, that 2016 resonates me the most. I survived dark times in my life and tried to end it in more than one occasion and seeing you being honest with your fans and most importantly yourself in those videos made me have a more sincere approach to myself and my life, so every year on the day of my last attempt I make a post reviewing my last year and thinking what I hope for the next one, trying to be sincere and celebrating my victories where I can and giving them the value they deserve, just like you. And my life's getting a lot better recently as well as yours so watching your journey for all this time really resonates with me and I'm so happy that we all found a way to grow, be better and be happy. I'm proud of me, I'm proud of you Jimmy, and I'm proud of everyone who took the time to read this and if you're having a bad time, just be patient with yourself. Victories will come even if they're small, but from those small victories after some time you'll see how much progress you made. Be honest with yourself and take your time, everything will work out. I only joined this journey at the end of 2017 after searching for some videos on AMS, but watching all the videos kept me going through times when I wanted to give up on a lot of things, even if it was something to just keep me distracted for a while. I still remember sending you little painted birb bandanas and remember how happy it made me to see you show them and beat the GT4 license test with the golden one. It's been a privilege to be a mod on this channel, it's been surreal watching you race irl and make dumb flags to make you smile (and cringe in equal measure) and to race you in sim has always been a pleasure. You even allowed me to drive your beloved MX5 on track, I can never be thankful enough for that opportunity. I have to say the part where you talked about your depression really got to me. I'm currently in a similar situation (I dont want to go into too much detail) and seeing that it's possible to come out of this and be happy and successful in life really gives me hope about my own life. I found your channel during the lockdown (as many others) and it got me into simracing and also kind of into content creation. I just want to thank you for being the channel I can always come back to even in my darkest times.

That was a great insight. I found you pre-Covid, so been here a little while now. And I understand fully what you went through in 2015/16. Had it for years from '99, which was then complicated by PTSD. People call those who take their own lives cowards, but it takes a hell of a lot of guts in the end. I suppose you could say that it takes guts to survive it as well because nobody should go through that. Took me 20 years to finally get back to work. You're a braver guy than I. The toxicity of the RU-vid comments section would have pushed some people over the edge when they're going through that. But you pushed through it all and look where you are now. If nothing else, you should be proud of that.
Love you Jimmer, being at the ground with no real perspective is a tough place to get out of, i been/am there myself and words roughly describe what one endures in that time. Thank you for staying strong and i am happy you found your place in life.

I must say this, even if it will be lost in the comments. Here from around 100k, found you as a suggestion from an unrelated video I can't even remember. But I remember seeing a thumbnail and saying "oh, nords, nice, let's have a look" You can't even start to imagine how much you and in particular your full time races streams helped me through the years. I know it represents a bad time in your life, but looking at a guy in a fucking shed creating such a fun community, great entertainment and most of all SUCH A FUCKING AMAZING VIBE, it gave me strength. Your shed sometimes felt like my safe spot. If I came home in my 3x3 room, started my pc and saw you driving a box in those four walls was like entering a room where I knew I would find friends. I wasn't going through such severe things like you did, but I really felt attacked in everyday life. I had big dreams and didn't see many ways to go about pursuing them. I fucking ditched my friends to spend a new year's eve watching your stream, because it was COMFORTABLE. And looking at you transition, while I must admit felt a bit like loosing a safe spot in the beginning, it made me SO PROUD I didn't even think I could feel something like this for someone. It made me say "I can do shit right even if I don't think I can". I was envious, must be said, because I knew I didn't have the guts to REALLY push myself (still had problems, still have if we're honest, with self-consideration), but it made me do changes. Make choices. Say "I can do this". I said "he fucking deserves it, finally some recognition in this world". I'm tearing up, didn't think I would. I'm so amazed at the journey you've had, I'm so grateful and happy it happened to you, against all the sbad stuff you went through. I'm genuinely happy for you, but I must say most of all THANK YOU for all the nice moment I could live through and with you. Sorry for my english, second language. Just a final thought. I understand you don't feel so attracted by youtube, lately, but please: keep putting up shit for us worldwide dwellers, from time to time. online or IRL, it's the same, I watch everyuthing. Found you during your live streams of Gran Turismo 2 in 2017 (to me the greatest racing game ever made!) I felt like you knew my pain when you would discuss your mental health difficulties on stream. This was also my first time witnessing a community build from the ground up so to speak. Seeing that 'small' community band together and grow was amazing to witness day by day, week by week, month by month,, now year by year! Seeing your journey of personal progression as a human and a sim driver through this channel has been my biggest source of help and inspiration. I find myself in somewhat a similar situation myself right now - drinking too much and generally feeling sorry for myself. Gradually turning it around, by doing one little thing at a time. Video games in general and especially the racing variety have kept me grounded. Thank you Jimmy, for sharing and for reminding us all of what can be achieved. Maybe one day we'll race together!

I came for the content, but stuck around because of how entertaining and likeable you are. Mental health problems are an awful thing, but you helped me through mine as you always make me laugh. I remember being genuinely upset when your Grandfather passed, as I had a very close relationship with both of mine. You've come such a long way Jimmy, and many people would happily be in the position you are now. I feel you've still got that feeling that you still need to grow, but we love you for who you are. I have been watching you for a long time now Jimmy - I still remember when you did the yearly recaps (and the massive improvement year on year since you had a bad year). To see you go from a sim racer to an actual race driver has been an absolute blast. I absolutely miss the shed days of 6 hour streams with the gang and dave station but I'm more glad that you've grown personally and professionally. Well, some say you are a Pro while others say you are not. It doesn't mean anything to me what they think. To me, you're the guy that was racing the Nordschleife on a Desk or what ever you could get your hands on. The guy, when I first seen you on RU-vid, did things nobody else would do, despide having your own problems and never showing it but still motivating others to this great hobby. Starting out with simracing in 2017 and now just hit 60, I can say that you and your board on the side, is one of the biggest reasons that I kept up and even moved from Playstation to PC. Your journey from shed to where you are now is a great one. So, it really don't matter in what role people see you. Your accomplishments one has to top first. Wow, that was an emotional rollercoaster. As a middle aged man I almost cried when you talked about your issues then about your chalpionship win in front of your family. I was just there to watch a silly man race V8 sheds around the Nurburgring and then boosh, right in the feels. Thanks Jimmy, your videos are awesome. Rock !
Been watching since the early Shed-days, fondly remembering the Gran turismo-streams with the Panda and so on. You being as open as you were with your struggles, had a great effect on my own struggles and depression positively. And seeing you keep going on no matter what, and succeeding as brilliantly as you have, it's heartwarming and inspirational if something. I consider myself lucky to have found your channel when I did and get to say I watched some of the progress of your career. I found your channel during my darkest time and you brought me soo much happiness and entertainment. I’ve been passionate about racing my entire life and actually grew up racing when I was younger but was forced to quit because my parents wanted to do other things with our family. Then you got me into sim racing and it brought back a lot of the thrill and joy from being back behind the all be it virtual wheel. Im so happy that you were able to find your way out of your dark times and I’m glad you were apart of what got me out of mine. Cheers Jimmy.

It's incredible that after.... A lot of years, I still remember coming across your video while trying out the brand new ACC videogame. Finished, and thinking "what a nice guy he seems like". And then sometimes you were the best company I had during some hard college years. I am really glad you're still with us and that you're getting to live what seemed only dreams. It's always good to see nice things happening to nice people and I'll be here while the journey continues, more or less present during streams.
