How I Count Simon Phillips 33/8 (more like a 33/16) 

Here is the way I count Simon Phillips 33/8 which for me technically is a 33/16 split by 17+16 (or 17/16+4/4), the shuffle parts have still the same tempo but subdivided different (the 33/16 can be mantained with dotted eight note instead of dotted quarter and 11/8 instead of 11/4, but this def sounds indeed like a triplet 11/4 shuffle), there is also a nice hemiola near the end on the shuffle parts which gives the ilusion he plays 4/4 over the triplets.
