Yes I definitely do! Between control scans I try to NOT think too much about my illness. Easier said, than done. But during those periods I forget my illness in small moments or sometimes even in the big picture. For example when I cook or read or go for a long swim, I definitely don't think about my illness. Then I am very much present in the activity. In the bigger picture I forget my illness when I am with friends and family, when I am travelling or also when I work. For me it is a training to not allow my mind to always go back to my illness. Because it doesn't change anything expect that it can drag me down. Shifting my focus consciously on what I enjoy in life I consider as one of my coping mechanism. Hope that answers your question?
@@drmartininderbitzin Just a question to do with swimming. I really love swimming and try to go to the lake as much as possible BUT because I am also doing chemo I do worry a bit about infection.. some people say you shouldn't swim when you are on chemo because of the white blood cells etc. I know you're not a medical doctor but I was just wondering what are your thoughts?
