John is without a doubt very well spoken, clear and concise. He doesn’t use filler words, take long pauses or hesitate when he speaks. No ‘um’, ‘like’, ‘you know’, ‘uh’, ‘I think’, etc. (could be due to editing). But some seem to confuse that with having rich vocabulary. He is using every day terminology. He is simply getting his points across without the use of filler words.
I disagree, he does use filler words, but rather they are in the vein of Charles Dickens's door knob 'Having not ungone any intermediate process of change' i.e. using more words than necessary to get a point across, I only know cause I do it when I write.
He does use filling words: he uses many synonyms to strengthen or define concepts, as well as enumerations and repetitions. Of course, this is far better than mumbling, and I also think he's very aware of that, and he does it intentionality and with a dash of hirony
I do agree to an extent, however his linguistic skills are significantly better than most. With the filler words, he does indeed “use” them just not the ones suggested in your original comment, he uses more descriptive terminology and elongates anything he says or explains to make it clearer and more articulate.
Exactly, I do enjoy watching some of RU-vid’s leading gurus but lately have been sorely disappointed with all the nonsense. Most grateful for John who is consistently amazing and conducts himself with upmost style and grace .
His videos are a great way to learn how to articulate your words. Even native English speakers struggle with this, as we speak quickly and blend words together.
How refreshing to watch someone who is actually trying to teach you something & help you👏👏no drama,no codes or pushing brands down you neck because they’ve been paid to say it🙌thank you so much for being such a dignified,wish some so called “beauty guru’s” need to take a leaf out of your book,they might actually learn something🤷♀️
Yes!! Everyone says “oh Jeffree Star I trust” or “I only believe James Charles” Firstly those guys are trying to sell you something and sure are honest, but BIASED. think about how many people are pissed at those two. John is the most neutral of guys.
Other beauty influencers : says the product they use, moves on. John : explains all different types of products for brows for 13 mins and then starts to do his makeup. Iconic. We Stan.

I am italian and i often watch videos in english in order to improve my listening skills. When i found John's channel i had to put a looooot of effort in the beginning to understand most of the words he uses in his "fillums"..! But now that i finally got used to his articulate way to speak i can say that i am madly in love with him and his videos! He is so hypnotic... a charmer 😍. It's incredibile how not to understand a foreign language perfectly is not such a big deal when it comes to 'Lord' Maclean: although i can't fully understand the meaning of a sentence sometimes, he still sends me calm, good vibes, and...... SEAMLESSNESS! (😁). Such a classy, stunning and talented person. I definitely fell victim of John Maclean's spell.
Just so you know, there are a few lovely quirks in Lord John's grammar, probably due to a delightful influence from the wonderful speech of the Scottish isles :)

I’m 34 now and have been drawing my eyebrows since around 15, so I truly appreciate the time dedicated to this tutorial. Also, one of the many reasons I love my husband is because he knows what I mean when I say I’m having a bad eye brow day. He might not understand in a sense that he knows the feeling, but he always understands my very real frustration!
i had just shaved my eyebrows off the other day and instantly regretted it. bought some eyebrow pencils and have yet to use them for fear of not knowing how to actually draw them on correctly. perfect timing - thank you truly, John
Figure out what brow shape suits your face, then practice drawing your brows until you are able to produce a natural result. Also, you might want to experiment with different brow products, such as pomades, gels and powders.

@@emmanazareno167 well Kevin, in the UK you have to do a two year course to become a City and Guikds and international heath beauty council beauty therapist. First year is face, facials makeup etc etc second year is body. This includes anatomy, origin and insertion of muscles, first years nurses training...quite in depth and all above board 😉
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how instead of cringing at or ridiculing how he used to do his eyebrows, he acknowledges that that was what he liked at the time, and how he's grown and evolved since then, and even says that "change is a very healthy thing"? At least I'm not the only one who cannot apply makeup symmetrically, my face is so different from my right side to my left. The most annoying I think is my eye shape is different and the shape of my lips looks slightly different on both sides. Where are my non-symmetrical sisters at?? Why be symmetrical when you can be SEAMLESS 💖❤💖
Told my children I was putting on twinkle twinkle little star, instead I put this on and now they're learning how to draw brows on in their sleep cause they've dozed off 😂😂 Edit : they've woken up with the most proper grammar and express themselves in a SEAMLESS manner. All beauty gurus always chose very bright, sparkly background, so we don't have a clear vision of a color, that's why their videos are misleading a little bit. Thank you so much for this John. I don't have eyebrows or eyelashes due to chemo so this is by far really instructional for me. I always struggle with my eyebrows, some do use stencils to draw them back on but not me i do freehand. I've been doing my eyebrows for years so I know where my eyebrows should be 😁. I love the Anastasia brow wiz pencil n that is by far my favorite. I love ur work n I really sometimes just watch ur videos just to hear n see u speak, I just love how u speak.
