I've followed his whole career and these events clearly made him quite ill, but he has a decent tour schedule and still writes for radio. I think he's reasonably financially secure now, which would have been a major concern at the time. His material is still very good. Watch him where you can, you can download sets from his website.

One only needs to look at how the Labour Party leader at the time tried to handle that vote to see that brexit was not a left v right thing, it is not as black and white as the rabid right seem to be now trying to paint it. i think youll find it was the Remain Conservatives who got the mood of the nation completely wrong and then resigned when it went the way of brexit.

I was a support worker for two years and I have some idea about the autism spectrum (not to mention having tested significantly highly for it myself), but I'm sorry if you thought it was a judgement. I guess I've just been trained to pick up on things like that, I found his demeanour notable. I'm surprised you thought it was a derogatory thing to say. Far from being a label, AS characteristics are often part of a wider language with which to navigate the complexities of individual personality, and some of them are actually quite common. I agree that the word "spectrum" gets thrown around a lot these days (probably too much), but this by itself has neither a positive nor negative implication about it's validity. And it was indeed the content of what he said that made me like him.
