How I got the nickname Puddin.

Love it! I managed restaurants for years and my Hispanic employees nicknamed me Jefe'. That was 30 years ago, I'm in the automotive industry now and the nickname followed me and remains the same today. If somebody calls me by my actual name it doesn't register. Big thanks to those guys for giving me a nickname I not only don't hate but one that has just become who I am.

Always good to have a group of buddies where everybody has nicknames!

I got the nickname “Doogie” when I was a kid and all through elementary to middle school I wrote down Doogie for everything, even the army called me Doogie. Keep the nickname going strong Puddin!!

That was a great story. Fun when you and your friends have nicknames. Pizza Hut buffet... good thing you weren't eating at the salad bar. Salad Bar Fab Shop just doesn't have the same ring to it. Thank you for such fun videos.

Love your nickname background. Mine is Choo-choo. I was an auto body and frame repairman for 46 years. One Jeep shop I hired into wouldn't let you get company uniforms till you worked there at least 2 months. So, since I was into model railroading at the time, I would wear my striped engineer's bibs and canvas engineer's cap that I would wear at weekend train swap meets. The guys and bosses and all started calling me Choo-choo. And when I finally got my "official" work clothing, all my shirts came with Choo-choo embroidered on them. Some would be to lazy to say the whole name, and just call me 'Chooch'

Great story, thanks for sharing Puddin. I got my nickname "Scooter" almost 26yrs ago when I started in the automotive industry. When I started, there were 6 Scotts, so when someone would call in and ask for Scott, it was...."Which one 🙄" lol. So they started calling me Scoot, then it turned into Scooter. So everyone calls me Scooter now, it's on my business cards, my name tag, etc..... lol

PUDDIN! Always glad to hear from a fellow Air Force member. You were a jet engine mechanic I think you said. I did 13 years myself before my body gave out. At least I had 4 years left on a 6 year enlistment so I got severance. I always liked working with my engine folks. Overall the Air Force was great, I was out on the flight line and phase docks 98% of the time. Nothing like drilling safety wire holes and helping pull wire to help. Even when it was 30 degrees below zero. Anyhow that offer on that Datsun stuff stands and if I get to where I can travel I will bring it to you. Love your channels, keep up the good work! Absolutely LOVE the fun extras you've been dropping lately! A few years ago I started working for a small drilling company in SEK. I started out as a floor hand on a drill rig, and as the boss learned I was more than capable with a welder in my hand, I picked up some extra odds and ends around the shop doing repairs and fabrication projects around the shop. About 3-4 months of that, my crew and I came back to the shop after setting surface one afternoon, and the mechanic calls me cowboy from across the lot. It stuck...and it stuck hard. Later in the year about christmas time I'm told the guys had all chipped in and got me a little something....it was a hobby horse...I nearly died laughing....Damn I miss those guys.

In SE states, “Puddin’ “ is a term used by grandfatherly / grandmotherly type people, either for a little girl but more often a fully grown, legal eagle woman that is with a new boyfriend. It’s kind of their way of trying to manipulate her back into a childlike state of mind, so that maybe she won’t do the do that she is entitled to. For if she does, a certain region of her may get pummeled into puddin’ and the next time they see her, she might come across as a grown azz truck stop Waitress, mustache, moles, cigarettes and all. Absolutely no remainder of innocent times. In this case, Puddin’ has a beard, so no dillusions of grandeur here. If I should ever meet You, I will keep my lip zipped, my zip zipped and your New Balances can simply rest comfortably on the ground. Love your show !

Aint disappointed at all! My nickname is Shaggy. Started goin to the local junkyard at 15 to hear stories from the owner about my family. He raised hell with em all. Freshman year in high school he offered me a job, called me his adopted grandson. All the boys laughed at my long hair, called me shaggy, or Shagnasty 😂 fast forward 6 months im his head mechanic and wrecker driver, fast forward 6 more... I done every interior for the used car lot... 1 more year at 17 it re opened his body shop. I got a junkyard nickname and education from some shady fellers who sounded like sailors, but by damn the owner still says im the man. Nicknames are are terms of endearment.Keep makin em proud Puddin

Definetly wasn’t the story I was expecting, but still a good one either way. Some of the best stories and memories come from the old boys you cross paths with in life. Awesome. Some of my old friends from high school still call me bulky. I had a tee shirt collection from all kinds of businesses. One was from a Mexican restaurant called bulky burritos. Being a chunky kid it became a knick name.
