@@aescaticIn the animatic Etho slowly turns into a being beyond human comprehension. he walks on four limbs, he's eight feet tall, and instead of eyes he just has two wide gaping holes that reflect pure white light. It is only then that as a society we realize why Etho hasn't done a face reveal
“‘What’s one thing you’ve learned on Hermitcraft so far?’ Tango lies and says he’s not a builder but then goes and builds amazing things.” Preaching to the choir, man.
@@ArtWithMazzyKidsShow the choir is a group of singers, churches often have choirs, so the analogy is kind of saying "you are preaching a message to people who have already been singing this message for years"
@@hardware_geek8136this is probably the worst comment thread I could’ve clicked on, I did not need to hear people born in 2010 are on RU-vid like this, I feel old af. And i shouldn’t
I meant in it’s recognition by the fandom lol. Everybody talks about Etho and Joel (obviously jokingly), less so about Lizzie. They’re a very sweet couple
That's such a wholesome invite! You attend a friend's birthday party intending to have a good time, probably gave him a good gift, then he pulls a reverse uno card and gives you an awesome gift of a hermitcraft invite lol
I was just thinking "man ive been missing joel smallish beans, ive already rewatched his last hermitcraft episode 28 times 😔😔" and then boom he uploads, its like an angel coming down from heaven with harps and trumpets in the background
Joel and Lizzie on a well deserved holiday, and yet Joel is still uploading? Man, we gotta love this guy for his dedication. Enjoy your trip with Lizzie and have lots of nice food!!
Your Last Life series is the entry point I've recommended to several friends new to the series. Your pov is so well balanced between comedy, hijinks, bloodlust, and drama, it's an entertaining and gripping ride from the first minute to the last.
Double life has very good moments too The only life series I skip was third life, which I technically watched in the April fools videoby real life. With the exception of GeminiTay being here while in the original she wasn't.
@@AgnesBooth-zu7tw 3rd life was so good but it is INCREDIBLY slow from any pov other than Scar or Grian’s. For them the plot is always moving, for the others it takes like five episodes for the interesting stuff to start. Pretty unfortunate cuz it was a great series when it came out. It’s the anniversary right now isn’t it?
Im sorry, Joel is the best addition to hermitcraft since proximity chat. Entertainment value 10/10. Building skills 10/10. Hermit interactions 10/10. Self centeredness 10/10 and insanity 9/10 (let your true thoughts out).
I love the relaxed video and play style of some of the Hermits now like Grian and Mumbo, but it’s great to see a new Hermit going all out in his first season, and even prerecording an episode so we don’t miss his insults while he’s away. Even more impressive that you’ve been doing things of similar scale for ages, so it’s not like a relatively small RU-vidr suddenly joining Hermitcraft and being full of motivation to do big things. I’m honestly surprised you didn’t join sooner. You are a perfect Hermit. So is Mogswamp, actually. He always works on large scales and is definitely accustomed to long lasting worlds, and he’s really dedicated. The fact that he’s now in a server with a Hermit is a huge step for him and I really hope to see him in season eleven or twelve
@@AgnesBooth-zu7tw what do you mean the spaces were already taken? Can’t they just add anyone they want at the start of any season as long as all the current Hermits and the new Hermit agree?
Really loved that, it's lovely hearing Joel as sincere and yet still humorous. You and Lizzie always strike me as super intelligent and really genuinely nice people. (from a daft old woman fan here :)).
You could easily cut out half of that search though by excluding places where Etho is very unlikely to be from though. First, don't bother with the water, bam, saved nearly a milion with one quick filter (0.9 million of Canada's total area is water). Most experts doubt that Etho is an amphibian or lives on a boat. Second, look for the clues that Etho has given. A huge one is that Etho has trees where he lives, therefore he probably doesn't live in Nunavut or any other region north of the tree line, such as right near Hudson's Bay or in northern Quebec. That's around 2-3 million or more saved. At least assuming they're not the tiny trees that still grow up there. There, down to just 5 million km² using advanced statistical analysis of Etho's content. Joel can thank me later when it only takes 60 years to find Etho instead of 100. (I mean they could also just go to the region where his accent is probably from and get it under 1 million, but that's much less fun. It's the journey that matters, not actually finding Etho.)
@@saffralnot to mention the fact that ergo is probably in the mountain time zone. If you watch his sky shrooms prank with team Canada from his original mindcrack series there’s a part where they are talking about the time and beef says it’s 1 where he is. Pause then says it’s 12 where he is and etho says it’s 11. Since beef is from near Toronto (I.e on the eastern time zone) that means etho being 2 hours behind is on mountain time. Of course he could have been lying to throw people off or he could have since moved so it’s not definitive.
@@grahamyoung2557 Do you know what month that was in? Saskatchewan doesn't change their clocks, so half the year it'd be the same as Alberta. I just have trouble picturing Etho as an Albertan, it's not the accent I'm familiar with from there (except maybe in the north). And there's the Northwest Territories too, never been there. Of course I can also imagine Etho not bothering to regularly update his clock for time savings and being in Manitoba or north-western Ontario, which would fit the accent.
I normally dont watch QnA’s but seeing Joel’s perspective on stuff is really quite fun, hearing the behind the scenes of stuff is also fun despite not knowing them. Would love to see more of this in the future
Genuinely one of my favorites of all time. I'm so glad Joel mentioned it, I never really see love for the series anywhere online but so many people in the comments have been as thrilled about that mention as I am lol
This type of thing is really cool cause it honestly gives people that may not have seen your content before a chance to get to know you better. Honestly wish the other hermits would do this sort of thing
ive been following joel and lizzie for the last 8 years, i still love hearing about them talking about their pasts and the series they’ve done. like its always a joy to hear joel saying x life was one of his favorite series because thats one of my favorites as well! :)
I wasnt even one of the Tumblrinas overanalyzing the playlists but seeing you casually drop your Tumblr literally made my blood freeze for a moment LOL I cannot wait to see chaos further ensue
Oh, man, phantoms in the End would be even worse than in the overworld. More thematic, but bridging between End islands is already a pain. Phantoms would make that so much worse. Thanks for answering some questions! Here's hoping your vacation goes well!
maybe they could be in tandem with the dragon? so if you kill the dragon they wouldn’t spawn anymore until you bring it back. it’d be entirely changing the mechanics tho and you couldn’t make potions of slow falling which a lot of ppl use for the dragon fight
He was absolutely on-point about an in-between episode thing in the previous one, that's epic! I'm just gonna take a second to appreciate how well Joel fits with the rest of the Hermit gang with his insanely cooky personality, immense building talent and absolute knack in creating the most fun social interractions one could imagine!
The Gamers Outreach stream was AMAZING Thank you so much hermits for putting it together, and thank you veis for donating over 800,000 $ Truely the best community 🙏 ❤
What the heck!!! Not Joel casually flexing being Global Elite in CSGO 💀CS is my favourite game series, I played CS 1.6 when I was like 4 years old at a gaming cafe and I've been hooked ever since!
16:45 Interesting fact: "X adventures in minecraft" was the very first youtube 'let's play' about minecraft. The second was Paul Soares Jr's classic series, How ro Survive and Thrive in Minecraft.
Kinda funny how i use your hermit vids as white noise to be able to fall asleep. I have rewatched the entire series about 5 times now bcuz if i did will stay awake till 6am 😭
someone: asks a question about how to be motivated, looking for personal advice joel: "oh, well thats simple, just have a 3.8M youtube channel and then you can be motivated"
The sycthe series is one of my favourite books, It is genuinely so good. I heard as well they are working on making a movie/tv show for it and it has so much potential
Joel listening to Waterparks is something both incredibly surprising and makes perfect sense. Also feels somewhat like a convergence of universes but yk
I was always a bit nervous to get into hermit craft because of the seasons and crazy amount of POV’s, so when you joined this season I was super excited bc I could get into it through your videos ! Thanks for being my gateway to the community :D ❤
I’m in a book club, and we are reading Scythe right now! It’s so cool to see someone like you, that I look up to, like the same thing I do, especially a book.
Love that Joel is just watching Gossip Girl on the side for mining sessions. Also, super glad you’re enjoying Shogun! My cousin had a pretty big role in making it and was nervous about the audience reaction lol
I'm a new subscriber. Learning that Joel used to be Shrek has blown my mind. Upon closer inspection, he's totally still wearing shrek clothes I can't believe I missed that 😭
Hearing that "The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August" is a favorite of yours made me soooooo happy, not because you like it, but because I have been trying to remember the title for about two years now. Thank you for that random assist!
I love videos like this. It really feels like it removes the pedestal and makes you feel like the creator isn't someone way above you at a level you can't reach.
11:11 It really reminds me of when Muse started out, they joined a battle of the bands competition and they didn't take it seriously (I'm not saying that Joel and his band didn't) and they just made as much noise as possible and they ended up winning That was in 1994 and now they have nine albums and are a wildly successful band, if you like rock music you should definitely check them out
LOVED the clip with Oli, he sings Great, & You're another Hermit drummer! ❤ Project Mary was AMAZING. Tho I struggled thru the 1st 20 pages, I tore thru it after that, as did rest of the family. You have to read his 1st book, "The Martian",which the movie was based on!
really enjoyed this qna!! it got me feeling oddly nostalgic for some reason. it's wild to think that i've been watching your videos for almost 10 years.
Actually moving phantoms to the end makes so much sense. It thematicaly works quite well and would also just be really cool. It would also pose as another threat in the end islands.
I've been watching you for 3-4 years now, I've loved seeing you grow. You've got amazing talent and I've enjoyed your videos loads. So happy to see how far you've gotten
Big Hero Six is my favorite movie ever. And Sanfransoyko has some of the most original and stylistic settings of any more modern disney film. Hearing you shout that out was just super awesome for me aaa.
