Thank you so much for posting that quote, “if you don’t make time for your wellness you will be forced to make time for your illness.” That is so true and I posted it on my kitchen cabinet so that I can see it every day.

Congratulations!!! I just joined WW 2 days ago. Is it really as straightforward as tracking anything you eat and staying within your daily/weekly points (I’m sure exercise helps but my question is more regarding the tracking/eating points alone). I’m excited but nervous I’m missing something.

Look into Gin Stephens book fast feast repeat its mind blowing and I had no idea the health benefits of intermittent fasting or how it worked in the body you can not only lose but sustain the weight loss and have treats now and then.
@Dhtaf

@@lmdidio No it’s seriously that simple!!! I was never able to stick to calorie counting, but I can stick to the WW points! You get your daily point allowance, as well as a weekly amount that you can also use however you please. And exercise adds points to your weekly budget!

I just recently subscribed. I lost 111 lb in 2 years on WW. I still had another 25lb I wanted to lose, but over the last year I gained 20 back. So with this new year I recommitted to WW and I'm adding some walking and light weight training in. Your channel is very practical and encouraging. Thanks!

Something you mention here that I think is super important, you downloaded the app and started the same day! Your story has hit home so hard for me. I too started to experience some scary health stuff, tingly in my fingers and toes, my heart would pound and I just felt like crap after eating these greasy meals, my back hurt so bad, I developed planters factitious, and I hated the fact that I was out of breath by doing simple tasks. I too would make a plan how I was going to "change" my lifestyle and then the next day would lose all motivation and just go back to my old habits. It was a horrible cycle that I was putting myself through. My main motivation is that I'm getting married next year and want to look back at my photos and be happy with how I looked and also to just be healthy too. I started WW 3 months ago along with doing kettlebell workouts at least 3x a week and I've lost 21 pounds so far. I love the program and what it is all teaching me. It was SO eye opening scanning old meals or foods I used to eat in a day. No wonder I was fat. I'm feeling SO much healthier physically and mentally today than I have in years. I can't wait to look hot on my wedding day lol

I am by no means overweight, but I find myself unable to lose the 10lbs gained (due to lack of exercise and poor snacking) during the 2 year covid lockdowns. Your advice on consistency and non-shaming, no self hatred is incredibly inspiring and your hard work shows! My main issue has been binge eating out of boredom since the lockdowns and I can't wait to scrounge your videos with inspiring recipes to keep me fuller longer! Looking forward to your future books!

Try doing deep breathing exercises daily to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. Inhaling (through the nose) for 4-5 seconds keeping shoulders still. Exhale through the mouth for 6-8 seconds. Do this twice daily for ten minutes. Aside from that, try long walks, bike, or swim but don't push. There should be no huffing or puffing. The Air should be your fuel in a true aerobic activity according to my diet doctor who is here on YT. Dr. Sten Ekberg. Check him out for a thousand more tips and full lessons.

Hey Nikki! I just started watching a lot of your blogs and you are very motivating. I've had trouble with my weight my whole life. Thank you for sharing your journey!

I'm a lot like you! I'm also 67. In 2017 I had both of my knees replaced and since then my exercise level has dropped drastically because my knees still bother me if I walk too much. Before I walked marathons, but after the surgeries I could barely walk 2 mi and gained 40 lb. Last March I decided I really couldn't stand it anymore and went on a very strict diet. I dropped fifty pounds but before Christmas I just needed a break. I've gained back 10 lb and I'm really worried, so I may try WW online. I still love walking, but I don't think I can do enough of it at a decent enough Pace to actually affect weight loss. I may have to join a gym -- yikes! Good luck to you! Some of my younger friends think I am at an age where I shouldn't care anymore but I don't want to be old and sick, but especially I don't want to have diabetes.

Signed up for WW today. I tried it years ago (okay, decades but who's counting?) and it always worked for me but fell off the wagon for a long time and ignored my health to my peril. That quote is so true, "If you don't make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness." I know it's true because I lived it. I don't wish that for anyone. I've been using MyFitnessPal then MyNetDiary after MFP put their scan feature behind a paywall and was having success but I've gotten stagnant in the last few months. Decided to give WW a go, online only. I'm excited to get started and lose the rest of this weight. Lost 45 lbs on my own with the free apps, need a little help to get the last 15 gone. Thank you so much for the inspiration, Nikki! You are a gem!

I’ve lost 55 lbs in 3 months so far simply by changing my diet. The first 40 came off by quitting soda and drinking water. Thats it. The rest has been from diet change. I didn’t need weight watchers or any program, but if it works for someone by all means do what you need. I’ve lived very healthy before and knew what I needed to do. I eat mostly a vegan style diet with a little Mediterranean and avoid inflammatory or night shade foods. I eat fish and seafood and the occasional bbq chicken bites i spread over my salads. Usually 4-5 pieces cut up to appear as more. My main meal every day is a salad bowl. Breakfast is yogurt, fruit, or oatmeal. Dinner is simply a salmon patty or veggie patty and if I’m still hungry I have fruit or yogurt or even a bottle of kefir. Lunch is the one meal I eat my biggest meal. The rest is all snacking fruits and nuts for a total of 5 meals a day usually I try to keep to 1/2-3/4 cup per meal except lunch which is a store bought prepared Fresh salad bowl. Usually delivered by amazon. It costs me about $200 a month to eat healthy. I sleep better and feel better. I’m now in my golden years and I knew if I didn’t take care of me I wouldn’t make it past 55.

Hey Nikki thank you so much for your video. I have watch you for awhile now and I really enjoy your videos. I started ww again last year for the 100th time and I actually lost 18 pounds and felt really great BUT I got complacent and way to comfortable and yes I gained most of it all back. Because it is a new year I decided to start all over again but this time I would approach it a little differently . I didn't give myself enough credit or value those 18 pounds that I lost. It was a big deal but I just took it for granted and then my weight loss journey ended and I was back to square one. I am realizing just how much my mental state everyday is my biggest challenge . I know now that I don't need to be perfect just consistent. I get lazy with tracking and trying to come up with new ideas for food can be hard but here i go again. I like you am doing this for my overall health this time instead of a vanity issue. Yes I want to look better and wear all the clothes in my closet that no longer fit but more than that I want to be healthy and feel better in my own body. I am 59 and in ok health meaning no meds and somewhat active , but for the first time I feel like if I don't take control of my body it will take control of me and not in a good way. I have been taking supplements 1st phorm I highly recommend this company they are great. I also take their reds and opti-greens , and magnesium . I am drinking a ton of water and I find this really helps my bones and joints feel better. Ok that's enough for now . Thank you again and i will be looking at your bowl videos for new ideas for food. Btw I loved the pics of you guys on the ww website!!! You go girl!!! That is really a great accomplishment and I see great things ahead for you!

Congrats on your success losing weight. I am only 5'2" and was always thin or a healthy weight at around 100 or 115 lbs until I was diagnosed with MS in 2009, had an IV steroid treatment , was allergic and in bed for 3 months sick and gained 50 lbs. I lost it all on WW over 2 yrs time and I was back down to 115 and kept it off until recently and gained 8 lbs so I have to loose it now which is challenging for me since I can only walk about 1/4 miles, if at all some days. Recently I had a relapse which caused more disability in my legs. I can lose it using diet only. I keep my diet simple and use common sense. I try to avoid all fat and only eat low fat or 0 fat items, no sugar, and low carbs. I Really just eat healthy eating fruits and veggies, very small portions of meat only once a day as I need the protein. I don't eat until lunch time, don't snack & only have a piece of meat and a veg for dinner. I don't drink water but drink tea. I drink a 10 oz cup of coffee and a 12 oz of tea. I don't sleep well if I drink or eat anything after 6 PM because getting up to pee disturbs sleep. Drinking too much water just flushes all the vitamins out of your body so can cause vitamin deficiencies which the people who are obsessed with drinking a lot of water tend to not realize that they may have. The bottled water people started this whole craze of drinking a ton of water.

@@staceypierre8887 Hey Stacey, my protein intake was high. I was eating around 240 grams of protein per day, which was 1.5x my body weight in pounds (154 lbs). I was also trying not to lose muscle and strength during my weight loss, so it is important that protein is high and should be between 1.2x - 1.5x your body weight in pounds. “High fat” doesn’t literally mean that you have to eat a lot of fats, but it means that the majority of your daily calories are from fats.

Just found your videos, I started Weight Watchers this year and I'm looking forward to the results. I managed to lose about 15 lbs on my own last year but it was a rollercoaster. I still have about 65 lbs to go to my goal weight.

I had the opposite experience! Weight watchers I’ve tried a few times and it started feeling way too restrictive to me so I switched to calorie counting. Something works differently for everyone!

True. WW is kind of a back door to calorie counting. Works temporarily for many, but so few longer term.

So, I gained 50 lbs in about a 2 year period. It was really just the result of getting into a healthy relationship I think. I haven't found myself able to lose weight for over a year but at the beginning of the year, I started sleeping better, taking some probiotics to help with the gut problems, and drinking 40 oz of water atleast a day (working myself up to 64oz would be a goal) and I've been doing the ACV gummies. I also have limited my fast food so much, even if my diet at home hasn't changed. I have already lost 4.5 lbs by doing just those things. I am going to start WW but I have struggled with being successful at in the past. Watching your video really helped because I realize I try to make all the changes at once and it overwhelms me, making me give up.
