You’re always so humble. That disclaimer at the beginning introduced me to two new jobs I’d never heard of. Thank you 😊

If I knew those career paths existed when I was in design school, I probably would have pursued them. Though, I don't know what they were like back then (I graduated 15 years ago) 😅

I found this really useful and helpful 😊 I don’t use graphic programs as I’m a traditional artist, however I did earlier this year experiment with digital painting with a stylus. It looks clever to be able to move sections in pattern preview. Lovely artwork 😊

Cool stuff. I recently did something like this with a painting I did, but I used Notability to sketch the pieces and then Inkscape on my PC to arrange the pieces and recolor them. No pattern mode as far as I know in Inkscape but I know a few tricks to make that part easier, like making everything in a group and then making clones of the group that update as I edit.

Concerning your cheetah pattern: if you have Photoshop, there is a way to enlarge lower-quality photos and "create" new pixels- it looks quite good if done carefully :)

Hi I worked out an easy way. I bought a newer wireless printer. I make one picture and then I send to print. It shows you an icon how many to print on a page. You click on the size and number of picture you need to print on an a4 page. You can also feed in to the printer sticker a4 paper of Your choice. All the work you need to do is change the colour printing to? Quality print? You choose..how easy is that???...p

Loved your video!! It answered so many of my questions as a newbie pattern maker trying to figure out the best way to scale for print on demand. In particular if using the pattern in photoshop on a large scale canvas would pixelate on final POD product (ie blanket). THANK YOU!!! New follower ❤

I don't know how long it has been since I watched you. Today while I was searching for how to draw border on page I just remembered that I used to watch someone do some drawings. First I thought it was Jazza but then I remembered your channel had something to do with lemons lol. I searched lemon bookcovers and bam found your channel. I don't know since when I watched you but it has to be over 6 years or so. I was happy to see that you have over a million subs but it was kind of disappointing on how the engagement on the videos is so low. I will share your videos to my friends who are interested in these things. I grew up doings lots of arts and crafts and so I used to watch your videos a lot to do some DIYs. I just wanted to say, thanks for being a part of my childhood. I really appreciate your work.

I keep messing up my patterns. They will look GREAT, but when I save them and try to use them, it only gives me my original square 😢 and not a pattern of it. Idk what I am doing wrong 😢 I am using the pattern preview mode on photoshop. Do you have to just keep adding more copies of it and tiling them together? I am worried I might get lines if I do that. Thank you for your unbiased video! I appreciate you! ❤
@SeaLemonDIY
@SeaLemonDIY 2 года назад
Photoshop will save only the square swatch as a file, the pattern preview feature is just a look at how the swatch will repeat. You have to make a new file to make a pattern of the square swatch. Skip to 6:08 to see this in action :)

Thank you for this video. I searched for into seamless files. I am practicing using seamless patterns (purchased, not designed, by me) to make items for family and friends. I worked as a speech-language pathologist for ten years. I'm burned out. I've been working retail until I figure out what I want to do. I've felt lost for a while now, especially with limited babysitter availability. I'm wondering if graphic design would be something I'd like. I didn't realize this would pique my interest. I'll keep learning more about it. Again, thank you. Your video made a lightbulb go off in my head, and I appreciate it.

Does anyone know how to create a pattern for a circle skirt? I'm having trouble since if I use a normal fabric with a design, half of that design will be upside down. I have an idea to create a circle skirt with a design running along the bottom. Like an animal running around the bottom of the skirt so if you were looking at the fabric itself, some of it would be upside down until it is made into a circle skirt. I hope that makes sense. I recently wanted to figure out sewing and I heard a circle skirt is a good place to start. But I also wanted to create things using my own artwork

Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial, I have been following you since I started having interest in bookbinding like 3 years ago and I still enjoy your videos. I have a question regarding your process in creating your pattern in Photoshop and Procreate. What size canvas do you start in Procreate when creating your art and what size canvas do you start in Photoshop when you are creating your pattern? Thank you so much!!

Hi Sea! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, priceless! It solves my current problem with white lines! I struggle with them when I save seamless pattern directly from Illustrator. I see many designers switch to Photoshop to save to eliminate the problem. Thanks to you I know I don't need the AI at all as I can play with the pattern tile in Photoshop directly ❤️ Tell me, have you ever experienced any problems with white lines being printed on the edges of the tile once saved from Photoshop (for Spoonflower)?
