I followed the advice of Vince Venturella and bought into Vallejo Metal Color. Steel, Dark Aluminum, Silver as metal triad (dark med light), and Gold and Copper. The gold is a little too greenish yellow for a classic gold, but a 3:1 or 4:1 mix of gold:copper gives a nicer warmth. They are acrylic and very fluid consistency, but they cover well. Meant for airbrush or hand painting. Haven’t used them that much but happy so far (I’m newish to hobby). I also heard good things of Scale 75 metallics but haven’t tried them yet. Enjoyed the video!
I have heard that the Valljeo Metal Colour line is great and was, in fact, looking at them today. I want a replacement for Citadel's Leadbelcher and I have heard the Magnesium one particular is a good likeness. Thanks for the tips and the comment, but most of all, welcome to the hobby. Any help I can give, please let me know. :)
Hello Agrax my old friend I`ve come to shade with you again because these recesses need shading left without this paint job would need something and the vision of highlighting with the shades of Agrax
For sure! This is the only dull gold I had at the time, so to dull it down further, I went with Agrax Eartshade. The alternative, of course, is to mix some black in and they layer Balthasar gold over the top of that.
I've just started testing the 3rd gen AK Interactive range, as I bought the whole set with ALL the colours in it, and the metallics are AWESOME!! Great colours and great coverage, at least on all I've tested. I'd recommend them!!
Scale 75 makes a nice fluid metallic with great coverage. Picked up their Metal N' Alchemy gold set and it's been amazing. I've used Citadel, Turbodork, Vallejo, Army Painter, and Scale 75 metallics; Scale 75 is BY FAR my favorite of the lot. I can't recommend them enough.
I used a medium base brush from citadel, size 00 from windsor and newton and a medium dry brush from citadel. I usually use the same three brushes as they do the job for me.
Hi there. I don't actually play currently, just like to paint the models. I am however slowly building armies up for 40k. No plans fr AoS yet though. :)
